Pokémon Trainer Turf Chronicles
By Doubled 32
Episode 0
An Introduction What's up? My name's Van....Still haven't heard of me? Not surprising, considering I've really only been on this island for a three months. What kind of place is this, you ask? It's a rather large island that holds a giant server somewhere. Basically, this place is like a giant computer, considering with all the warp panels scattered everywhere that can take you wherever you want to on this giant island. The buildings here are huge, and most of them have monitors on them to, well, monitor the battles that take place in the coliseums on the separate islands around the main island. What kind of coliseums do we have here at Trainer Turf? Yeesh, you ask a lot of questions. Well, we have lots of them, such as a watery coliseum with waterfalls around it, or a cybernetic coliseum with circuitry just pulsing through it. We have a lot more, but I'll leave it at that. What? Now you wanna know the rules for getting to this place? Seriously buy a book or something! Anyway, there aren't too many rules for this place. Basically, in order to get to this island, certain conditions have to be filled. One: You must either have accomplished a great feat or you must have defeated all eight gym leaders from your region. Two: Your Pokémon must be above level sixty, otherwise you won't last long here. And three: You must bring up to two friends with you. I never understood exactly why the last rule was there, but because of that rule, this place is bustling full of trainers. There is an exception to the rules, but it requires you to work on the island. Now that you know how to get on the island, you need to understand the rules for staying on the island. What? You thought that once you got here then that would mean the worst is over? Please, keep dreaming, nothing's ever that easy. One: You must battle at least once a day, win or lose. When you win a battle, however, it gets counted. If you battle multiple times a day, then you bank up on points that will allow you to either spend money on local items or to offer some points in exchange for a day off. Right now, I have enough points to sustain my everyday living as well as take about ten days off if I wanted to. Two: You must always have a full team set. Let's face it, people want to fight, a lot, so if half of your team is down, then you have the other half to fight. What if your team is down? Just take it by a Pokémon Center; they heal your team up in a flash. Whoah, I'm starting to sound like Professor Juniper. And three: Flamers, Trolls, Thieves, and criminals or jerks in general will not be tolerated. I happen to take this last rule very seriously, as my friends, Sam, Aubram, and Tee, have formed a special club that hunts down these criminals and marks them with a warning. They have three days to straighten up, or they're out of here. Any regulations? Not too many as far as I can tell. You can battle in almost any form you want: Singles, Doubles, Triples, or Rotations; nothing is off limits. However, Trainer customs are as follows: One: When a trainer challenges you, you should accept, as that is the honorable thing to do. Two: This isn't obligatory, but most trainers prefer to fight with three Pokémon each. This is so that a match can be decided sooner than with a full match, plus it's more discreet. Usually, most trainers will follow the rule of swapping a Pokémon after each fight, but not everyone does this. If you wish, you may battle with a full team, however, just a personal warning, this will bring a crowd. Most people will be expecting you to bring some big guns too, so just be prepared. Three: Once the match is decided, try not to make too big of a scene. A simple "Aw man!" is usually ignored, but if you're just a sore loser then I would just keep it to myself. Most trainers shake hands after each battle, showing respect to their opponent, and that can get you a few "brownie points" from the big guy in the tower. So, now you're probably wondering what all there is to do besides battling. There are plenty of things to float your boat. There are art classes, if that's your thing (I'm bigger on doodles myself, but meh.), they can turn even the worst stick man doodles into a caricature of a famous person! Then there is the musical hall. They have different things for your liking, such as a Rock hall, a Jazz club, or a Rave party, though the last one is more of a club sort of thing. They have sports too, from Baseball to Basketball, Soccer to American Football, Volleyball (Most guys are fond of the women's team, the pervs.) to...well, you get the idea. They even have a Karaoke club, though I'd recommend staying away from there around nighttime, as that's when the drunks come out to sing "I Wanna be a Hero". Then, most women like this part, why is any man's guess, there's the shopping. Plenty of stores to splurge your butt off, or just to waste time. There's a lot more, but some of it may scare you away (Such as Senior Night at the dance club.). Seems like a cool place right? I guess it is. To be honest, some of these people on the island aren't interesting at all. Guys just want to be the best so they can get all the girls, and girls just want to show off their "cute" Pokémon. I find that rather annoying. Even though this place has some of the best of the best, and some damn good milkshakes, I find that the ordinary is too common, even here. But that's why I came here. I grew up in Unova with a boring childhood, and had to run away from home before I felt any real excitement. I want to find the best of the best of the best! I'm not asking for anything like an alien invasion or visitors from the future, I just want to feel the adrenaline rush through my veins! Yes! A battle royal with the strongest trainers in the world! That is what I'm after! If you are that trainer, I want to meet you! More than likely, you're not though. Oh, look at the time. I've best not keep my pals waiting for me at the local food court. They're all I've got in this world, and I'm glad for that. Still though, I wish something would happen soon... ~ Van Flyhart

Episode 1
(From here on out, an ominous third party will tell the story…..)
Our blonde headed protagonist made his way to the large, concrete food court with his faithful and furry companion, Flareon. Flareon, with a coat of shining red, stayed close to his master's heels. Van seemed to be bored, as his eyes were half opened, and he was walking with his hands in his pants pockets. When he got to the table he wanted, lit by the blue sky shining through the glass ceiling high above the building alit with TV screens and menus, as well as being dotted with palm trees growing through the little square pots; he pressed a button on the small, almost glass table. A holographic screen popped up with choices from a menu, which was allotted with colors of yellow and blue. Van tapped the screen, which caused the screen to go away. A few minutes later, a teenage girl wearing a traditional restaurant uniform came to the table and handed the man a milkshake. Van gave her a card, which beeped after being scanned. The number on the card went down by one, and the girl went away. Van sat there sipping the milkshake waiting for his friends. Flareon stood on his hind legs on Van's leg, begging for some, which Van ignored.
"Sorry Flareon, but this stuff is bad for you," said Van. Flareon was not discouraged, as he pawed Van's leg.
"Aw c'mon Vaaaannnn, just a little won't hurt," said a young lad. Van looked next to him to see his black haired friend, Aubram. Van wasn't expecting him, so he jumped a little. Aubram laughed a little, but took the straw from his green soda and let Flareon lick from it. Van looked at him with an annoyed face.
"Don't give him that, he'll be running around in circles til next week!" cried Van. Aubram looked at him with a smiling face.
"A little Mountain Moon won't hurt him!" answered Aubram. Flareon licked the straw with happiness. Van propped his head on his arm out of boredom. Flareon then jumped into his lap and looked at him with a happy face. Van smiled and patted his head. Finally, Samuel and Tee sat down, continuing the conversation they had previously had.
"Look, I'm just telling you, the best way to survive a zombie apocalypse is by building a space station….in space!" declared Tee. Van laughed a little, even though he had no idea what they were talking about. Van was a little shocked to see that he was the only one with his Pokémon out, but paid no mind to it. Aubram greeted Samuel with his usual nickname. "Hey Ginger!" said the boy. Samuel grew irritated and looked at him with a twitching eye.
"For the last time, I tan!" declared Samuel. The others laughed, as he calmed down. Van looked at the others with an expected look.
"Alright guys! Today is the day we find that battling genius!" declared Van.
"Flare!" agreed Flareon. Samuel slapped his head.
"Why can't you just be content with the people here instead of looking for 'the one'?" asked Sam. Van looked at him annoyingly.
"Because all of the people here are so BORING!" answered Van. Tee nodded.
"He does have a point. Almost everybody here has come by getting all eight badges from a set region….Either that or they have claimed to be abducted by aliens," agreed Tee. Aubram looked at the two strangely.
"Yeah, but that's it. Almost everybody here has come here that way, including you, Van!" retaliated Aubram. Van sighed.
"Still, I just want a good battle. I'm running low on battle points, and I can't just keep battling you guys or some random weirdo off the street," said Van. Samuel, Aubram, and Tee then tried thinking, but Samuel got an idea.
"What? We're not good enough for you?" asked the ginger haired boy. Van looked at them with an unexpressed look.
"That's not it. I'm just bored," answered the blonde. Same grinned.
"What? You chicken?" asked Samuel. Van looked at him with an annoyed face. "You haven't battled in so long, you've probably lost your touch," continued the boy. Van stood up and looked at him with an angered face.
"Alright Ginger," began the blonde. Flareon growled along with his master, "Let's go." Samuel stood up, and then the both of them snapped their fingers. Suddenly, the table released a blue wave of energy that lifted every person sitting in the square on to the top of the stairs surrounding the food court bowl. People looked to the center to see these two boys looking at each other, and suddenly stood up near the blue force field protecting them and started cheering. Aubram grinned and stood up.
"They're at it again," said Aubram. Tee laughed.
"What else is new?" asked Tee. Van and Samuel moved to opposite ends, when suddenly a holographic chart appeared, showing the two challengers on the screen. Three balls appeared on both sides, with one set on Samuel's left side, and another on Van's right side. The two looked at each other with determination, and drew back their sleeves, revealing a special watch known as a C-gear, which then projected holographic images. Six white dots were shown to the duo, who then pressed three of the buttons. The holograms went away, and each player received a Pokeball as if digitally warped there. Van and Samuel threw their held balls and revealed their Pokémon as they came out. On Sam's side, a small, feminine like Pokémon appeared. The light blue fur dazzled like diamonds as the light reflected off it, and as it exhaled, frost could be seen.
"Glaaaaceon!" cried the furry creature. On Van's side, a strange, four winged Pokémon with small feet hovered in the air.
"Cro cro cro!" spoke the Crobat, excitedly. Sam smiled, while Crobat jumped at the sight of the ice type. Van just looked indifferently.
"Hey, Crobat!" yelled the boy. Crobat looked at his master in a shudder, "What have we talked about? You don't have to worry about types! Just show off those moves out there!" reassured the lad, who smirked at his flying friend. Crobat's eyes widened as he smiled in determination. At that, the screen raised a circular countdown system. It started at three, which made Samuel begin thinking. Next came two, which made the audience nervous. Finally, at the passing of one, Van pointed toward Glaceon. "Use Acrobatics!" yelled Van. Crobat moved so fast that he disappeared from view, creating a gust of wind which rattled Van's fur collared denim coat. Sam sweated, as he knew the massive damage that would incur because of Crobat's lack of an item.
"Glaceon, dodge it!" yelled the red head. Glaceon stepped to the left, which just missed Crobat's left side wings. Van growled, but grinned afterwards. However, Samuel pointed to Crobat, "Now, Ice Beam!" yelled the lad. A swirl of cold energy formed at Glaceon's mouth, but Van came prepared.
"Crobat, use Haze!" yelled the blonde. Suddenly, Crobat spewed a cloud of smoke from his mouth which covered the field, just as Glaceon's attack fired. Samuel and Glaceon were totally blind at that point, but so was Van, which also made him nervous. Sam snapped his fingers at an idea.
"Blizzard!" yelled the boy. Glaceon then began to yell as a rush of cold wind flew from behind her. Van smirked.
"Crobat, Heat Wave!" yelled Van. Suddenly, the smoke cleared as a red blaze of wind blew against the cold wind. As the winds collided, water fell to the ground. Sam began to growl, but Van still smiled. "Now, Steel Wing!" yelled the blonde. Crobat's wings began to shine a bright, metallic white, but suddenly turned red. Crobat charged at Glaceon, which made Sam grin. The blazing wind stopped as Crobat rushed toward the foe, which left him wide open for the wind.
"Glaceon, use Shadow Ball!" yelled the ginger, "Just in case Blizzard doesn't finish him o-" but before Sam could finish, Crobat rushed through the freezing wind, creating steam as his burning wings contacted the snow. Van grinned, even when the freezing snow made ice crystals against his jacket and face, causing his cheeks and lips to turn purple, which made him shiver, but that still didn't stop him. Glaceon fired a barrage of Shadow Balls, hoping to hit him. However, through the mist came the poison bat, streaming through the air with intense burning wings. "Shadow Ball Shadow Ball Shadow Ball!" yelled the lad, but Van grinned again.
"Acrobatics!" yelled the boy, swinging his arm, pointing at Glaceon. Sam growled.
"Aw come on!" groaned the boy. Crobat disappeared again, but reappeared behind Glaceon, hitting her square on the back.
"Glaaa!" cried the creature as she went down. The screen mounted up on the wall showed Glaceon's health meter, as it suddenly dropped from full green, to half yellow, and finally passed the red remainder until all the Hit Points hit zero. Glaceon lied on the ground in exhaustion, as Crobat returned to Van, embracing him with his still burning wings. Van hugged his affectionate Pokémon as the ice melted off his clothes and the color returned to his face, but then started screaming in pain once he regained his feeling. The board then removed a ball from both sides, and gave a star to Van's side, making the picture turn from an expressionless to a confident face, all while turning Sam's face into a frowning face. The crowd cheered as the boys returned their Pokémon to their respectful balls. Sam petted the ball with worry,
"Are you okay? He didn't hurt you too much did he?" asked Sam. Van sighed and put one hand on his hip and another on his head.
"Honestly, you know Pokémon will be hurt in battle, so why did you send out Glaceon?" asked the blonde. Sam looked at him with an annoyed face.
"Because flying types fall down when frozen, not beat the living crap out of the ice types that freeze them with flaming wings of death!" yelled the annoyed boy. Van shook his head and grabbed another ball from the air.
"Just get on with it!" yelled the blonde. Meanwhile, in the audience, the crowd chatters, while Aubram and Tee sipped their drinks.
"One to zip!" claimed Aubram. Tee looked at him with an annoyed face.
"Hey, the battle isn't over yet, so you'll be buying your own food this week," replied Tee, who then yelled into the ring. "You better not lose this Sam! I know where you live!" Sam and Van looked up into the audience protected by the thin blue electrical fence to see Tee yelling and Aubram giving Van a thumb up. Van shook his head while Sam smiled nervously. Sam then grabbed a ball from the air and released his Pokémon. This time, a large, orange and striped furred canine came out, showing the magnificence of his coat. He bowed down, and reared his head up toward the skylight, causing the sun to come out.
"ARRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!" howled the Arcanine. The crowd cheered at the magnificent beast as threw his Pokémon out. In a burst of light, a short, two legged, blue canine like warrior came out, crossed his arms. He reached into his chest fur and grabbed a cigarette, which shocked Van, and then lit it with a flaming fist. The wolf looked at the other canine and crosses his arms, while opening one eye.
"Car," spoke Lucario. Tee and Aubram looked at the smoking Pokémon and began debating.
"I thought Van cleaned out Lucario's stash?" asked Tee. Aubram shook his head.
"He always does, but does that stop him?" asked Aubram. Van regained his cool and looked at Lucario and grinned while clenching a fist.
"Whatever helps you concentrate Lucario!" assured Van. Lucario scoffed and threw down his cigarette, and then stepped on it, putting it out. The Countdown on the clock began. At the stroke of three, Sam yelled at Arcanine.
"Do a good job and you'll get a bone!" yelled the ginger. Arcanine's ears perked up and he began to wag his tail. Van got nervous, but thought of something else. At the stroke of two, he yelled to Lucario.
"Hey, you do great and I'll get you two new packs!" yelled Van. Lucario opened his eyes and widened his stance. His pupils became as sharp as needles, as he prepared to fight the fire dog. As soon as the clock ran out, the canines lunged at each other. Sam yelled out,
"Fire Fan-" but before he could finish, Lucario slammed Arcanine against his knee and kicked him upwards, knocking him in the air. Van seemed shocked, but remembered Lucario doesn't like to mess around.
"Aura Sphere!" yelled Van. Lucario put his palms together, but Arcanine straightened up.
"Flamethrower!" yelled Sam. Arcanine shot fire from his mouth, which made Lucario panic and jump out of the way. He then launched an orb of light from his paws which hit Arcanine in the chest. The flowing wolf landed back on all fours. "Alright, use Flare Blitz!" yelled the red head. The wolf enveloped his body in a ball of fire as he ran towards Lucario. Van yelled to him.
"Lucario, Extreme Speed and Earthquake!" yelled the blonde. Lucario dashed around in a circle, created a small tornado, but with each step a chunk of the floor rose up to block the Arcanine in his tracks. Sam gritted his teeth as he tried to think, but didn't have time when he notice the dust settling. Lucario was holding a gigantic, swirling orb of blue pulsating energy in his paws, which was getting larger by the second. Van swung his arm, "Aura Storm!" yelled the blonde. Sam jumped, as he remembered that move from a game. Suddenly, with a roar from the two legged canine, the orb of energy shot like a cannon at Arcanine, which enveloped the stadium with its bright light. Sam jumped out of the way to avoid the light, though it would have missed him by a few feet. The audience jumped as the beam collided with the energy fence, which neutralized the blast as it hit, creating waves as the energy pulsated. Just as Lucario grinned in success, Arcanine jumped from the middle of the beam, enveloped in a ball of swirling fire and blue energy. The massive canine collided with Lucario, sending the warrior colliding toward the wall. The Health meter on the screen fell from green to red, leaving just one Hit Point left. Van looked at Lucario in panic, but also noticed that he had a piece of fur on his chest a lit with fire. Lucario was burned, but before fainting, he reached inside his chest fur for another cigarette, which he lit with the fire. Finally, he passed out, making the HP meter fall to Zero, bringing a star to Sam's side, and making the picture go from frown to grin, and making Van's go from grin to the unexpressed face again. The crowd cheered in excitement, but Aubram slapped his head.
"Nooo!" yelled the boy. Tee laughed in pleasure.
"Now we're even!"declared the man. Van returned Lucario back to his ball, and patted the top to relax the fallen comrade. Sam grinned and petted his gigantic pup.
"Well, not so boring now, eh Van?" asked Sam, grinning as he gave Arcanine a bone. Van put Lucario's ball back into his jacket pocket and grabbed the last ball from the air. Sam returned Arcanine to his ball and did the same. Van looked at Sam unexpressed.
"We'll see about that," replied the blonde, as he sent out his third Pokémon. As water poured from the ball, a silhouette appeared and was revealed to be a large, blue, seal like Pokémon with a shell on its head and several shell platings. The Pokémon let out a grunt.
"ROOOOTTTT!!!" yelled the Samurott. Sam grinned as he threw his last ball, which poured out a tornado of leaves, revealing a large, snake like Pokémon with an unexpressed look on his face.
"Serperior…." hissed Serperior. Van grinned and slapped his head.
"Have I really become that predictable?" asked the blonde. Sam nodded.
"Well, you do usually save Samurott for last," answered the red head. Samurott simply scoffed, but Van shrugged.
"Eh, it doesn't matter much," began Van. The countdown began with three, "After all, type advantages don't mean lickity split as long as you can fight well." The clock hit two.
"Well, they certainly help, as Arcanine proved with Lucario," replied Samuel. Van exhaled, trying to think of his strategy. The clock hit one, and he visualized the entire field surrounded by blackness, and saw several scenarios in the fight. He saw Samurott charging in to Serperior, and also saw Serperior coiling his partner. He opened his eyes to see his surroundings.
"Go get 'em, partner," said Van to his water type friend. Samurott took his stance as the clock hit zero, causing the horn to blow. Sam raised his finger in the air.
"Serperior, Leaf Storm!" yelled the red head. Serperior began slithering in a circle, creating a massive tornado of green, which flew directly at Samurott. Van swung his arm.
"Megahorn!" yelled the blonde. Samurott's horn began glowing as he charged through the green storm. The leaves cut the blue warrior, making the HP bar drop from green to yellow, but the warrior kept plowing until he hit his slithery target. Serperior flew back to the wall, causing the Hp meter to drop to half. Sam gritted his teeth.
"Leaf Blade!" yelled the boy. Serperior regained his cool and charged at Samurott with a sharp, glowing green tail. Samurott moved to the side and blew water in Serperior's eyes, making him struggle to see. He then launched another Leaf Storm in all directions, making it impossible for Samurott to dodge. The HP bar fell to the red line, leaving Van gritting his teeth. Sam chuckled, and Samurott struggled to get up. Van looked up at the match clock, and saw that he only had a few seconds left to decide his next move. Finally, he grinned, and pointed his fingers.
"Samurott, use Surf!" yelled the blonde. With a loud roar, the Pokémon summoned a wave of water to hit the snake, but Van laughed.
"Desperate much? That won't do too much damage!" yelled Sam. Van grinned, and snapped his fingers.
"Now, combine that with Blizzard!" yelled the determined man. With roaring energy flowing from his mouth, Samurott launched a freezing ray at the wave, which enveloped the snake. The ice surrounded the freezing water, and froze solid! Sam, as well as others in the audience, looked in surprise.
"What the HELL man!" yelled Tee, as he threw his drink on the ground….and shortly picked it back up to throw it away. Sam twitched his eye to look at the board. Serperior's health had fallen to one, and on top of that, he was frozen solid. He was helpless.
"How the hell did you think of that!?" asked the ginger. Van grinned.
"Well, the entire battle gave me hints. Glaceon's Blizzard didn't do too much because it couldn't hit, and Lucario's Earthquake had plenty of ground to cover, but not enough power. Combining a move like Surf, which has a high chance of missing, and a move like Blizzard, which has a moderate chance of missing, makes a gigantic, almost impossible to miss wave of liquid ice," explained Van, grinning at his own guile. Samurott also barked.
"ROTT!" yelled the Pokémon. Van then pointed his finger.
"Well, time to finish this off. Samurott, Razor Shell!" yelled the blond, pointing to the target. Samurott's armor merged with his horn to create a gigantic sword, which was enveloped by water. He charged at the giant block of ice, as Serperior watched helplessly. Sam bit his lower lip and threw his hat on the ground. The blade hit, slicing the ice in two, and freeing the grassy serpent, however defeating the beast. The last star flew to Van's side of the screen, transforming his unexpressed picture into a cheesy grin and a thumb up. Van looked at the picture with wonder, and began to wonder where that guy went, and why did this guy with no appreciation for the things he had in life replace him? The force field lowered around the stage and Tee and Aubram jumped down to talk to their friends. Tee walked over to Sam and yelled.
"Nice job, now I have to pay for Aubram's meal for a week!" yelled the man. Sam jumped and began sweating, as not only did Tee know where he lived, they all lived together! He began to laugh nervously.
"I guess luck wasn't on my side today?" said Sam, guessing if it was the right thing to say. Meanwhile Aubram began to jump around Van, who was still looking at the board.
"Nice job! Now Tee has to pay for my meal for a week!" screamed the boy. Van snapped back into reality, and laughed nervously.
"Whatever makes you happy bro," said Van. Flareon danced around Van in excitement too. Van then walked over to Sam and looked at him with a sarcastic grin, but deep inside it was heartfelt. "Yeesh, if I had this much trouble beating you, what hope do I have for the 'top class trainers'?" asked Van. Sam jumped, but tried to smile, but steamed again.
"Hey! Just what the heck was that supposed to mean?" asked the red head. Van put his hands on the back of his head and began to walk off, as the crowd's tables floated back into place.
"If you don't know what I mean, I can't tell ya," coolly said Van. Sam growled, but then realized what he was saying, and smiled.
"Yeah, well if I can't beat you, then I'm in serious trouble," replied Sam, laughing. Van snapped, and ran back to Sam and jumped around him in an angry fashion. The others laughed, while a girl with short blue hair and green eyes laughed from a table at the top of the small wall.
"That looked fun!" commented the girl to herself. The brown haired boy sitting next to her simply scoffed:
"Ha! I could beat that loser any day!" yelled the boy. The blue haired girl pouted, but looked back at him and his friends. She thought to herself a very soft thought.
*Why can't I be surrounded by friends like that?*

Episode 2
The next morning, the birds were chirping. The ocean was waving back and forth on the sandy beach. A Tauros can be seen on a plain near a house teaching his son how to fight. The house sits quietly, as birds rested quietly on the top of this house in the small suburb next to other houses, were people still rest from the day before. Yes, it was very peaceful…..for a while.
Suddenly, screams could be heard from the upstairs room, scaring the Pokémon off of the house, and making the two lights in other rooms turn on. Inside this house, Van and Aubram, still wearing their pajamas from the night before, as well as their messy hair from the sleep, run to Sam's room, where he is being doused by torrential water. Van and Aubram look at his assailant to see Tee, in a t-shirt and boxers, controlling the assailant: A Sharpedo. Sam struggled to stop it, but Aubram started laughing, while Van slapped his face.
"You woke me up for this?" asked Van. Sharpedo stopped and looked at Van and Aubram. Sam moved his wet hair from his eyes to yell at Tee.
"WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT FOR!?" yelled Sam. Tee grinned and looked at Aubram, after which frowning.
"That was for making me pay for his food this week!" answered Tee. Sharpedo scoffed, while Aubram still couldn't contain himself.
"Why not just make Sam pay for it?" asked Van, still sleepy. Sam jumped and began yelling.
"Why is everyone against me!?" yelled the boy. Tee snapped his fingers, but looked at Sam, soaking wet. He shrugged and shook his head.
"Well, let's see. Make Sam pay for me, or shoot him with more water?" asked the man.
"Shoot him some more!" yelled Aubram. Tee looked at Van expectantly, but he shrugged. Sharpedo got tired of waiting and shot more water at Sam, knocking him off his bed. Aubram laughed so hard he fell over holding his stomach. Tee shook his head in approval.
"The votes are in! We shoot him with more water!" yelled Tee. Sharpedo shook his head as well, as Sam cried a fake river of tears.
"I hate my life," mourned the boy. Van blinked his eyes, yawned, and walked back to his room.
"And I hate mornings," replied the blonde, pulling his covers back over him.
"SHAAAARRR!!!!" yelled the shark Pokemon, scaring the birds away from the outside.
A few hours had passed since then, and people were bustling through the town as per usual. The gang, now dressed, were waiting in line at the food court to get their lunch. The line was long, and people were getting irritated.
"I'm getting irritated," commented Sam. Glaceon, who was standing next to him, rubbed his pants leg.
"Glaaaaa…" purred Glaceon. Van shook his head.
"Why the heck did the lunch rush have to be so soon today?" asked the blonde. Aubram was too busy looking at the woman in front of him to notice the brown haired boy, around Van and Sam's age, walking past the line. The boy grabbed the card in Aubram's hand and walked on. Van and the others saw this and jumped.
"Hey!" yelled Aubram. Tee and the others looked at the man in the green pants and black sweater walk to the front of the line and bang his fist on the counter.
"Hey! Where's my order!?" yelled the man. The cashier shook nervously and handed him a bag and a cup filled with a frozen drink. "Good. Put it all on this guy's card," replied the man. Van left the line and turned the brown haired boy around.
"Hey, Jackass, who the hell do you think you are?" asked Van, who swiped Aubram's card away from him. The boy raised an eyebrow and laughed.
"Wait a minute. I know you! You're that loser from yesterday!" commented the man, who swiped Aubram's card back. Van looked in shock, but growled in anger.
"Answer the question, jerk," replied the blonde, who swiped the card back again. The boy looked at him seriously and swiped the card back.
"You really don't have any idea who I am, do you?" asked the man, shocked. Van raised an eyebrow, but swiped the card back. The brunette chuckled, "I'm Kallen, son of the guy who OWNS this island. THAT'S WHO I THINK I AM, loser!" answered Kallen, who swiped the card back and gave it to the lady. Van put his hand in Kallen's pocket and gave the man his card, while taking Aubram's card back. Kallen looked at him with murderous intent. "Listen Loser," but before Kallen could finish, Van interrupted.
"My name is Van," responded the blonde, "And you better straighten up." Kallen looked on his chest to see that Van had placed a red X with his palm. The X changed from red to green, and Kallen snapped as it changed colors.
"What the hell is this?" asked the boy. Van grinned.
"It's what jerks like you deserve on their chest in threes," answered the blonde, "This is a warning mark. It's given to people who just act like assholes like you. AKA, a Troll." Kallen looked at Van with an angry face. "Two more and you're out of here, son of the owner or not. Straighten up in three days and you'll be home free," continued Van. Kallen laughed, and took his food after the lady scanned his card.
"Whatever. Here's a warning for you," replied Kallen, who decked Van in the face, causing him to fall down and the crowd to jump. Sam, Aubram, and Tee, as well as Sam's Glaceon, who growled at Kallen. Tee pulled Van up a little, who just stared at Kallen. "Mess with me again, and it'll be more than your face that gets 'warned'." Kallen walked off and shouted a message to him. "See ya later, LOSER!" yelled the brunette. Tee growled.
"Why can't idiots like him just vanish from the face of the earth?" asked Tee. They helped Van up, who wiped his clothes off.
"That's what we're here for, to make sure they do one day," replied Van. The lady at the cash register placed a bag on the table for the gang and smiled.
"We need more people like you who aren't afraid to stand up to bullies like him," said the lady. Van and the others looked at the food and looked at her. "It's on the house!" said the cheerful woman. The others smiled, while Van flashed back to a time a few years ago back in Unova.
It was raining in the small town of Nuevema, and three boys were beating up a young Van, before his hair curled out. He had gotten mud on his brown pants, black button up shirt, and blue long sleeve tee under it as he fell to the ground. He wiped the blood from his cheek and stood back up, as the boys grinned and punched him again. Van stood up once again, not going down. The leader, a kid with wild, brown hair, looked at him confused.
"Why don't you just give up? It's three against one," asked the boy. Another yelled at him in a half pubescent voice,
"STAY DOWN, LOSER!" Van looked at him and punched him down, while the third one punched him in the gut. Van struggled to get up, but did. He looked at the three with half empty eyes, and growled.
"No! I refuse to believe that you're better than me!" yelled the boy. The others cracked their fist and walked closer. "You're not cool, YOU'RE JUST SCUM!" yelled the blonde, which caused him to endure more pain. After a few more kicks and bruises, they left Van out in the wet grass. He just stared at his reflection in the water and growled. "I will never let scum like them surpass me! I'll leave this town, no, this region, and become the best there ever was! Then I'll show them!" Van stood up and looked at the rain, which washed the blood from his cheeks and lips. "Just wait. I'll use a Patrat if I have to!" yelled Van.
While Van was remembering this, his friends had finished their meals, but Aubram shook Van's shoulder, snapping him out of it. Van looked at the others, who were just staring at him.
"You okay buddy?" asked Aubram. Glaceon even tapped his leg. Van looked at his bag, which hadn't even been opened yet, and laughed nervously.
"Yeah! Yeah I'm fine!" replied Van. Sam and Tee stood up and looked at Van.
"Well we've got to go look for some more battles," began Tee.
"Unlike you, we have to find somebody to fight to stay on the island for today," commented Sam. Aubram stood up and grinned.
"Oh well, can't be helped. Maybe we'll find a girl or two while we're at it," commented Aubram. Van grinned nervously, but opened up his food.
"Alright then. Since you guys didn't snap me out of that day dream I had, I still haven't eaten lunch, so I'll catch you guys later," said Van. The others waved and went on their way, while Van bit a chunk out of his burrito that he had ordered. A few minutes later, a girl with short, blue hair, modeled much like Misty's, with a bow in it, and green eyes, as well as a black tank top and a brown skirt ran over and sat down in front of Van, which shocked him. He raised a hand up in a waving fashion. "Yo," greeted the blonde. The girl smiled while looking at him with wide eyes. Van sweated a little bit. "Can I-"
"I saw you and your friends battling yester day!" yelled the girl. Van jumped back a little bit, but calmed down. She looked at him with a wide smile and began imagining in her head a cartoony style of how the battle happened. "I was watching you from the audience, and your Crobat was all like, BAM!" in her head, she pictured Crobat slapping Glaceon in the face, "And his Arcanine was like, BOOM!" In her head, he hit Lucario like a freight train, and his cigarette was a lollipop instead. "And your Samurott was all like, SHOOM," she envisioned a very graphical version of his Samurott charging through the Leaf Storm, "And then FWOOSH!" she envisioned a gigantic wave of ice hitting Serperior, "And finally, SLASH!" She finally visualized Samurott swiping the ice enclosed snake and winning the battle. "Your friends were all like 'Yay yay!'" she visualized Aubram jumping like a rabbit in a frame by frame fashion, "And your other friend was all like 'GRRRRR'," she visualized Tee as a giant staring down at a crying Sam, "And I was all like 'AWESOME!'" She finally visualized herself clapping her hands in a very childish cartoon like fashion. Van smiled nervously while scratching his cheek. She looked at him strangely, "Huh? Oh! Silly me! My name is Kayla!" introduced the girl. A strange, brown, and slender Pokémon, known as Furret, jumped up around her neck, and rubbed her face, making her giggle. "And this is my Furret!" she extended her pinky out to Van. "And your name is?" Van looked at her pinky and stuck his out.
"Uh….Van," replied the blonde. Kayla closed her pinky finger around Van's and shook.
"It's really nice to finally meet you face to face!" said the girl. Furret ran from Kayla's neck to Van's, which shocked him, until he lied down to relax. "Furret must like you a lot!" said Kayla. Van looked at the Pokémon wrapped around his neck and smiled. Suddenly, a fist came smashing down on the table. Van and Kayla looked up, and it was Kallen, looking even angrier than before. Van jumped up and ran in front of Kayla.
"Oh so now you're after my girl? You stupid little punk!" yelled Kallen. Van bent his eyebrows in an angry fashion, but looked at the girl shockingly.
"Wait a minute," began Van, "HE'S your boyfriend?" asked Van. Kayla stood up and got in front of Van.
"Yes, but right now he's being a jerk," began Kayla. "Why are you being so mean to him? We were just talking!" explained Kayla. Kallen laughed,
"Move out of my way so I can beat this loser!" yelled Kallen, who pushed Kayla to the ground. Passersby looked at the scene with scared looks on their faces, but Van looked at Kayla falling and reached down to catch her. Kallen looked at this and growled. "SO, YOU ARE TRYING TO STEAL MY GIRL!" yelled the brunette. Van picked Kayla back up and tried to hold his anger back. Kayla looked at Kallen's shirt, and began questioning Kallen.
"What's that X for? What did you do?" asked the girl. Kallen looked at it and looked back at Van with an angry face.
"Oh yeah, I forgot, TAKE THIS DAMN THING OFF!" demanded Kallen. "My dad chewed my ass off for this! And you're going to pay, now!" yelled the man. Van couldn't hold it back anymore and tapped Kallen's jacket again with his special glove. Kallen slapped Van's hand away to see the second X on his shirt. Van looked at him with an angry look while his glove steamed from cooling off.
"That's another for pushing the lady over," said Van. Kallen steamed and took another punch at him, but suddenly one of Van's Pokeballs began to glow, and Crobat suddenly appeared and slapped Kallen across the face. Van looked at his Pokémon with a shocked expression, but Crobat looked at him and smiled.
"Cro cro cro!" said the Crobat. Van smiled and patted its head.
"Nice to know you've got my back," replied Van. Crobat grinned wider, but Kallen stood up. He started to punch, but Crobat made a terrifying look on his face as he hovered between the assailant and Van. Van grinned, "Well then, since it's evident that my little friend here won't let you hurt me, why don't we settle this the old fashion way?" asked Van. Kallen raised an eyebrow and grinned. Kayla looked at Van with a shocked expression, but Kallen grew a malicious smile.
"Alright then. Two hours from now at the Finale Coliseum!" yelled Kallen. Van grinned, as he also liked that coliseum for its design and grandeur.
"Fine then. Standard three Pokémon limit, no time limit, is that fair?" asked the blonde. Kallen grinned.
"I won't even need five minutes!" bragged the brunette. He walked off and looked back. "Hey Loser! Don't forget, TWO HOURS!" yelled Kallen. Van shook his head as Kallen walked off. Kayla looked at Van with concerned, as well as Furret.
"But Van, you don't know how Kallen fights!" cried Kayla. Van looked at her and smiled.
"Thanks for your concern, but I'll be fine," replied Van. He looked at her with a serious face, however,
"Why did you let him push you like that?" asked Van, "Better yet, why are you with him?" Kayla pondered a bit, but couldn't find an answer. "Let's hang out again sometime," said Van, who walked off. Kayla held her hands close to her heart, still pondering that question.
One hour and fifty-nine minutes had passed since then, and Kallen was leaning against the wall of the coliseum. The Finale Coliseum, famous for the famous battle that was said to have taken place between Red and Wes, was a large coliseum fashioned much like Roman coliseums. There were cracked pillars inside, as well as a gigantic wall for thousands of people to observe what would be a tremendous battle. From the top, a waterfall falls down into a tribute in the base of the massive stage. He looked at his C-Gear to see the time, and chuckled.
"I guess the loser chickened out," commented Kallen. Suddenly, the clock hit two on the dot, and the southern gate had opened. Coming forth was Van, with a determined look on his face. Almost as if on cue, the wind began to blow, making his coat flutter in the wind. Following his arrival were Sam, Aubram, and Tee, who sat down in the seats above. Kallen looked at Van and chuckled at first, but began laughing maniacally. "Guess you did show, Loser!" greeted Kallen. The guys booed him from afar, which made him irritated. "Go ahead and boo all you want. After I kick this loser's ass, I'm coming after you three!" yelled Kallen. Aubram jumped, but Tee and Sam growled. Glaceon, Umbreon, and Venipede were out, cheering on Van. Sam cupped his mouth.
"Don't lose to this guy Van!" yelled the red head. Tee also did the same.
"Hit him hard from the start!" yelled Tee. Aubram simply yelled, releasing his Electivire, who made electric pompoms, freaking the others out as he cheered.
"Even Electivire's excited for you, so you can't lose!" yelled the black haired boy. Kallen gritted his teeth, but was shocked to see someone else walk down to sit behind them. She released her Alakazam and Xatu, as well as her Furret to cheer on. Kallen smirked.
"Hey Kallen, I'm breaking up with you!" yelled the girl. Kallen jumped, while the others looked at her with astonishment. Van looked back, but grinned and gave a thumb up. She looked at Van and smiled. Sam, Tee, and Aubram looked at each other strangely, but shrugged and continued cheering, joined by Kayla and her Pokémon. Van smirked.
"You hear that?" asked Van, confidently, "With those people beside me, I won't, no, I CAN'T lose!" yelled Van. Kallen growled, but grabbed a Pokeball from his belt and grinned.
"We'll just see about that," commented Kallen. Suddenly, the monitor lit up and displayed the faces of Van and Kallen, as well as the same visuals as the other match, with the only exception being that the background was red and black, and that an eight cut circle appeared in the center. Kallen threw his ball in the air with a grin. The ball exploded in a flash of light, revealing a large, metallic, four legged Pokémon with a silver X on its face. With a loud roar, he cried.
"GROOOOSSSSSS!!!!!" yelled the Metagross. Kayla looked at the Pokémon strangely, but shrugged it off. Van grabbed a Pokeball from his belt and pressed the button, making it grow in size. Van threw it in the air, releasing a floating, doll like Pokémon with many eyes. He didn't say anything at all; all he did was float there. Van yelled to his Pokémon.
"Look alive Claydol!" yelled the blonde man. Claydol simply nodded. The countdown began from three, as the small crowd announced.
"THREE, TWO, ONE!" yelled the crowd. Suddenly, a horn blew and confetti launched from the board. Kallen pointed to Claydol.
"Metagross, use Shadow Ball!" yelled Kallen. Metagross launched a shadowy blob from his mouth, which flew directly toward Claydol. Kayla put her hands over her mouth in nervousness, but the others never batted an eye. Van simply grinned, as Claydol instantly teleported out of the way, making the orb blast the wall. Kallen blinked, but pointed again. "Meteor Mash!" yelled the boy. Metagross suddenly launched toward Claydol with shining claws. Van crossed his arms as Claydol teleported again. Metagross landed and Van snapped his finger.
"Earthquake!" yelled Van. Claydol's arms suddenly crashed into the ground, causing the earth to shake around Metagross. The small audience wobbled from the hit, but Metagross' arm cracked. The earthquake kept going, causing Metagross to yell in pain. Kallen gritted his teeth and pointed.
"Stop whining and use your own Earthquake!" yelled Kallen. Van laughed.
"I wouldn't do that," commented Van. Metagross slammed his foot on the ground, but only strengthened Claydol's own Earthquake. Kallen looked at the board and saw Metagross' HP bar drop from green to red. Van snapped his finger. "Finish it with Extrasensory!" yelled Van. Claydol suddenly spun his head rapidly as his eyes turned blue. Metagross stopped struggling and passed out, as his HP meter fell to zero. Kallen steamed and threw his ball hard at Metagross, leaving a dent as he returned to his ball. Van looked at the cruelty and shook his head. "Calling it back would have been easier," commented Van. Kallen snapped.
"Shut up!" retorted Kallen. The board then added one blue mark to the second triangle to the right side of the circle. The audience cheered on. Electivire, Alakazam, Xatu, and Kayla chanted Van on for his win. Aubram and the others grinned.
"Looks like Van's on a roll," commented Tee, as his Venipede cheered. Suddenly, his Dragonite and Typhlosion came out of their balls and joined Kayla. Sam's Swampert and Gengar also came out and joined.
"Well, looks like some of us are getting excited," commented Sam. Aubram laughed.
"Well yeah, Van is showing that jerk whose boss," said Aubram. Kallen growled and threw another ball out into the stage. The ball released a large, rocky, armor plated, dinosaur like creature with a drill on his forehead. The Pokémon reared back and roared.
"RHYPERIOR!!!!" roared Rhyperior. Kayla looked at the Pokémon and was confused again.
"There's another unfamiliar one," commented Kayla. Sam looked back surprised.
"Another one? What'ya mean by that?" asked Sam. The others also looked back. Tee narrowed his brows.
"What Pokémon does he normally have on his team?" asked Tee. Kayla pondered for a moment but eventually snapped her fingers.
"Normally he has a Blastoise, Glalie, Exploud, Houndoom, Steelix, and, his favorite, Druddigon," answered Kayla. Aubram looked at Kallen with a serious face.
"So Kallen's cheating!?" asked the boy. Kayla pondered, but shrugged.
"I can't say, to be honest. I looked at his PC a long time ago and he did have a Beldum and a Rhydon. He may have evolved them since then," replied Kayla. Tee crossed his arms and shook his head.
"I don't know, something smells fishy here," said Tee. Sam's Swampert sniffed his skin, hid his arms, and blushed. Down in the battle field, Van studies his opponent. Kallen chuckled.
"What's the matter Loser? You scared now?" asked Kallen. Van smirked as he looked at the score board.
"Let's just get this over with," replied Van. The countdown began from three.
"THREE, TWO, ONE!" yelled the small audience. Before the one finished, however….
"Rhyperior, Blizzard!" yelled Kallen. The horn blew and Rhyperior launched a huge freezing wind from his mouth, which enveloped Claydol, freezing him and sending his health from green to red. Van was shocked, and the small audience booed.
"I call for a disqualification!" yelled Sam. Kallen looked at him and smirked.
"The attack didn't launch until AFTER the horn blew, so it still plays," replied Kallen. Van looked at Claydol, frozen helplessly in the block of ice. Kallen pointed. "Alright Rhyperior, use Mega Horn!" yelled the brunette. Rhyperior charged at the block of ice with a glowing horn, but just as he collided, Claydol sent his arms colliding with the ground, sending a shockwave through the ground. Rhyperior wailed in pain, as his HP meter fell to yellow. However, due to the impact from the earlier attack, Claydol's HP meter fell to zero. The eight pied circle then put a green mark in the cut on Kallen's side. Kallen grinned widely as Rhyperior roared in victory. Van called Claydol back to his ball and patted the top.
"Good job buddy," said Van as he put his comrade back on his belt. The audience booed at Kallen, making him flip them off with his middle finger.
"Screw you!" yelled the angry man. Kayla gasped, and Electivire cried from his feelings getting hurt. Van reached for another Pokeball on his belt, this time for a blue ball with red bumps on it, otherwise known as a Great Ball, and threw it high in the air. As the ball released, a large, golden armored, reptilian Pokémon with scythes on the side of its face roared.
"HAAAAAAXXX!!!" yelled Haxorus. Sam blinked and looked nervously.
"Van's getting pretty serious if he's using Haxorus," commented Sam. Kayla looked at the dinosaur-like Pokémon with awe as his armor gleamed with the sun's rays. Kallen looked at the Pokémon seriously.
"So, you do have a power-house!" yelled Kallen. Van grinned.
"He's more than that," replied Van. The countdown began.
"THREE, TWO, ONE!" yelled the audience as the horn blew. swung his arm.
"Haxorus, Dragon Dance now!" yelled Van. Haxorus began to yell as red clouds with blue sparking energy revolved around him. Kallen pointed.
"Rhyperior, Blizzard!" yelled Kallen. Rhyperior let loose another freezing wind from his mouth which headed straight for Haxorus. Sam bit his nails, Aubram stared, Tee looked nervously, and Kayla stopped cheering. Van sweated nervously.
"Wait for it…" commanded Van. Haxorus still focused his power as the attack closed in on him. "NOW, DODGE IT!" yelled Van. Haxorus, in a blink of an eye, rushed out of the Blizzard's way and rushed for Rhyperior. Kallen snapped.
"Stone Edge!" yelled Kallen, but Van snapped his fingers.
"Surfing Dragon Claw!" yelled the blonde. Haxorus then summoned a wave of water, which he rode while powering his claws into giant, pulsing, glowing blue claws with red energy flowing from them. Rhyperior launched the rocks, which missed. Haxorus slithered with the water as he closed in on Rhyperior.
"Rock Wrecking Fire Blast!" yelled Kallen. Rhyperior then punched the ground, creating a gigantic boulder, which then lit on fire. The titan threw the flaming rock at the slithering dragon, who then slashed through it, crushing the rock into three, and then slashed Rhyperior with a rush of flowing water and raging claws. The HP meter then fell from yellow to nothing, causing Rhyperior to faint. The horn blew, and the score board added another blue mark to Van's side. Kallen growled as the audience cheered.
"HA! That's how we do it Haxorus!" yelled Sam. Tee and Aubram yelled to Van.
"Just one more Van!" yelled Aubram. Tee cupped his hands.
"YOU CAN DO IT!" yelled the man. The Pokémon howled and roared for Van, as it seemed that all of the Pokémon had joined in. Kayla still cheered for Van and Haxorus, which made him smile.
"Nice job Hax!" commented Van. Haxorus reared back.
"Haxorus!" yelled the dragon. Kallen threw the ball at the fallen Rhyperior, which returned to his hand. He then reached to the back for his last Pokeball, which made him laugh maniacally.
"You won't be smiling after I put you back in your place, LOSER!" yelled Kallen, as he threw the ball in the air. Suddenly, a shadow emerged from the ball, taking the form of a three headed dragon with six wings and a black exterior. Kayla put her hands over her mouth as the dragon roared.
"GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONNNNNNN!!!!!!" cried Hydreigon. Kayla then jumped up.
"I knew something was fishy!" yelled the girl. Swampert blushed again. "Those aren't Kallen's Pokémon at all!" yelled Kayla. The other's looked back at her. Kallen looked at her with an annoyed look.
"Then whose are they?" asked Kallen sarcastically. "They listen to my every whim, and I know all of their attacks. Oh who on earth could they belong to!?" asked Kallen, followed by him laughing. Van looked at him seriously.
"They're your dad's," answered Van. Kallen jumped and sweated. "How do I know this? I fought your dad a while back, and he used those exact same Pokémon. They were his strongest too," said Van. Sam stood up.
"Now can we disqualify him?!" asked Sam. Tee also stood up.
"Yeah, that's totally cheating!" yelled Tee. Van raised his hand.
"Hold up guys. I said they were his dad's," began the blonde, "I never said I wouldn't finish what we started." Aubram pulled his hair.
"Are you nuts!?" yelled Aubram, "That's a freakin' Hydreigon! A pseudo legendary! They're so powerful that they're banned in most places!" Kayla looked at Van with worry, but he simply looked back and grinned.
"Do you guys really have that little faith in me?" asked Van. They looked at him, shocked. "Sam, remember when we took out that Krookodile gang that invaded Nimbasa City?" asked Van. Sam laughed at that memory of his Servine and Van's Dewott taking out the leader, saving Elesa. Van looked at Aubram, "What about the time you and I busted through the Chargestone Cave and saved those Pokémon and people after that explosion, Aubram?" asked Van. Aubram grinned nervously at him. Van looked at Tee next. "And Tee, wasn't it the both of us that got rid of that motorcycle gang along the Tubeline Bridge, and made them rename the gang from the Black Empoleon to the Black Whimsicott?" asked Van. Tee laughed at that moment. "Not only that, but we've also conquered legendaries! We can do anything!" yelled Van. He looked back to Haxorus and grinned. "We can do anything we set our minds to," said Van. Kallen began chuckling.
"Wow, you guys really are LOSERS!" yelled Kallen. Van looked at him with a frown. The countdown began.
"Three, two, ONE!" the horn blew. Kallen raised his finger.
"Outrage!" yelled Kallen. Van pointed at Hydreigon.
"You too Haxorus!" yelled the blonde. The two dragons roared at their bodies became engulfed in blue and red fire. The rushed at each other and collided, sending their health down a bit. They rushed back, and hit each other again in the air. Kallen snapped his finger.
"Earthquake, now!" yelled the brunette. Hydreigon sent a pulse from his body, sending Haxorus to the ground, hard, leaving a crater where he landed. Suddenly, Haxorus struggled to get up.
"Dammit, he's confused!" said Van. Kallen laughed at the struggling Pokémon.
"End it with Surf!" yelled Kallen. Hydreigon released a wave of water from his three mouths. One of them had berry juice on its face. Van realized that Hydreigon had eaten a Lum Berry to heal to fatigue. Haxorus struggled to stay up, but Van pointed.
"Haxorus, try to land another Dragon Claw on him!" yelled Van. Haxorus formed a shining blue claw with bursting red energy from it, but it seemed to waiver. Haxorus rushed through the wave and nearly made contact with Hydreigon, but lost his power. He groaned from the pain of the migraine in his head and fell back to the ground, where he was hit by the Surf wave, which then splashed Van's feet. Haxorus' HP bar had fallen to zero, putting another green mark on Kallen's side. The audience gasped as Kallen laughed.
"It's over Van! I've won! You've lost! Now take these stupid marks off me now so I can kick your asses!" yelled Kallen. Van growled and called back Haxorus.
"You did great Hax," commented Van as he put the ball back on his waist. He then grabbed one last ball, and closed his eyes. He tried to talk to the Pokémon inside, almost telepathically. *Please, just do your best, partner…* thought Van. He threw the ball high into the air, and in a torrent of water, our armored friend Samurott takes the scene again.
"SAMUROTTTTT!!!" cried the samurai Pokémon. The audience was still, but Kallen smirked.
"Any last words, Loser?" asked Kallen. The clock counted down, but no one chanted. At the one mark, Van smirked.
"Just a few," said Van, "Stop calling me Loser, Jackass!" the horn blew and Van pointed his finger. "Samurott, use Surf, now!" yelled the blonde. Samurott summoned a wave of water, which rushed at Hydreigon.
"Dodge it and use Focus Blast and Outrage!" yelled Kallen. Hydreigon flew higher, and cloaked his body in the blue and red energy. He charged down and launched several glowing orbs toward Samurott, hitting him and making his HP meter drop to yellow. Van pointed.
"Use Mega Horn!" yelled Van. Samurott's horn began to glow as he charged head on into Hydreigon's Outrage. An explosion occurred and dropped Hydreigon's health to yellow and Samurott's to red. Kallen pointed.
"Finish it with Outrage!" yelled Kallen. Hydreigon then rushed at Samurott again, making Van smirk.
*I've got a small chance, but it could work!* thought Van to himself. He then swung his arm. "Samurott, I want you to fire a Blizzard and dodge Outrage!" yelled Van. Samurott summoned a freezing wind toward Hydreigon and dodged him as well. Hydreigon flew into the wind, causing his health to drop. Kallen smirked.
"Surf!" yelled Kallen. Hydreigon fired a wave of water from the Blizzard, creating a wave of liquid ice. Van bit his lip, and the audience stood still.
"Power through it with Mega Horn and Hydro Pump!" yelled Van. Samurott glided on a wave of water under his feet, and fired several aqua bullets at Hydreigon. The water touched his skin, freezing as the wind touched him. Next, the icy wave slammed on Samurott. The crowd stood still, but suddenly Samurott charged through with a gigantic horn of ice! Kallen looked at his frozen Hydreigon and freaked.
"NO! NO! UNFREEZE AND DODGE IT! DODGE IT NOW YOU STUPID DRAGON!" yelled Kallen, but Hydreigon couldn't move his wings at all. Samurott roared as he charged the dragon, followed by Van, envisioning himself as his partner. The sword of ice collided, causing a burst of cold air to blast from the stadium. The cold air was thick, and it wasn't clear who had won yet. Suddenly, thanks to a bust of wind, the white mist cleared, and Hydreigon's health had fallen to zero. The final blue mark was added to Van's side of the circle, and the top slice of the circle became white as confetti fell and the horn blew. The crowd went nuts as Van ran out to hug Samurott.
"Awesome job Partner!" yelled Van. Samurott sighed and went along with it. Meanwhile, Kallen threw the ball at Hydreigon, leaving a knot on the middle head, and called it back. Kallen cussed his mouth out and pointed at Van.
"This isn't over Loser! I will have my revenge!" yelled Kallen, as he tried to walk off. However, Van' Lucario, Crobat, and Flareon blocked the entrance. Kallen laughed at this, but was soon shocked to see the gang's Pokémon blocking the gate. He looked back at Van, who was putting on a black glove with an X on it. Kallen panicked and tried to run, but Sam, Tee, and Aubram caught him. He struggled to get free. "Let me go! Let me go now! Just you wait, I'm gonna kick your asses when this is over!" yelled Kallen. However, Van remained expressionless.
"As it is the rules, I have to explain why I'm giving you this last X, what will happen, and how you can redeem yourself," began Van. Kayla stopped him.
"Don't tell him that last part Van!" pleaded Kayla, but Van proceeded.
"First of all, all of the threats you've made to my friends has earned you an X. Secondly, it's vulgar to flip the bird at the audience. Thirdly, you abused your fallen Pokémon by throwing the Pokeball too hard at them; and example would be the dent in Metagross' cranium, the crack in Rhyperior's horn, and the knot on Hydreigon's head. Fourth, using Pokémon that aren't yours without the consent of the original owner. Fifth, you made a scene when you lost, and used more profanity than needed. Finally, the sixth charge is resisting," said Van. Kallen growled and bit Sam's hand, but was knocked down by Sam's fist.
"Make that Seven!" yelled Sam. Van stretched the glove and looked at Kallen.
"All of those charges, combined with your previous two, are enough to ban three Trolls from the island. However, I'm going to pool these seven charges into one X," said Van, as he pressed his palm against Kallen's chest, leaving the third and final X. Kallen looked at Van with murderous intent, but Van continued unscathed. "Now, I should tell you that you have three days to vacate the island. If you cannot vacate due to a fault that is not of your doing, then you will receive help. During these three days you may pack up, take a walk, whatever you wish, just stay in line," continued Van. Kallen spit in his face, but Van simply wiped it off and placed an X over his mouth. "I wouldn't have had to use this if you hadn't done that. Now, regrettably, I must inform you of how to come back. First of all, once banned, you will have to vacate the island for a month. If you come back early, we will know due to these tracers and you will have your sentence extended. Should you choose to come back in a month, you will have to, in your case, gain all eight badges from a region of your choosing. Now that you're banned, being the 'boss's son' doesn't cut doing something 'exceptional'. Be good, and you should be back in no time," said Van, who then ripped the X's off of Kallen. Sam, Tee, and Aubram let him go, and he looked at Van with evil in his eyes.
"This isn't over loser! Not by a long shot!" yelled Kallen, as he walked away.
Evening had come, and the gang, plus Kayla, was still sitting in the Finale Coliseum eating their dinner. They were just talking about everyday things, and Sam asked Kayla and Van a question.
"So are you two together now? Or…." Van blushed, but Kayla wrapped her arms around his left arm.
"Maybe someday," answered the girl. Aubram, Tee, and Sam awed over the moment, but then she hugged them. "For now, I'll get to know my new big brothers!" declared Kayla. They all laughed a little, but this made Van smile. He looked at the sun, but remembered Kallen's words, and softly said to the sun:
"I'll be ready."

Episode 3
The next day, Kayla, Sam, Aubram, Tee, and a new girl with snow white hair, yellow eyes, dark skin, a violet tank top, a black and yellow wrap around her waist, and gray running pants met up at the usual food court to talk, however, Van wasn't with them. Kayla grabbed her friend's shoulders and looked at the three boys with excitement.
"So, you're probably wondering who this chick is, aren't you?" asked Kayla, making the girl jump a little, but still holding her straw in her mouth. Samuel shrugged while holding his Glaceon in his lap.
"Eh, I just figured he just turned into a girl," said Sam, looking to make the new girl laugh, but Aubram spat his drink out in shock.
"Oh, so you're implying that she used to be a guy!?" asked Aubram. The girl laughed, while Tee slapped his face in embarrassment.
"Smooth….like sandpaper," said Tee. Sam sweated a little, as his Glaceon licked his face to cheer him up. The girl laughed as she parted her hair.
"It's okay! My name is Frecesta!" said the white haired girl. The others listened to her accent, as they had never heard one quite like it. "Oh, and in case you can't place where I'm from, I'm from the Ukiland region, just a little hop across the pond to Unova," explained Frecesta. They snapped their fingers when they finally understood it. She looked at the table and smiled. "So, you must be Samuel, you must be Tee, and you must be Aubram," said the girl. The gang looked at each other strangely, and pointed at each other in a triangular direction.
"He's Sam," said Aubram.
"He's Tee," said Sam,
"And he's Aubram," said Tee. The girl laughed in embarrassment.
"So sorry, I'm a bit scatter brained!" replied the girl. She looked at Kayla expectantly. "I thought you said there was a fourth one with blonde hair, Van was it?" asked the girl. Kayla pouted.
"He's supposed to be here," answered the blue haired girl, "He's always here with these guys." Sam looked at her nervously.
"Well, today's a special day," said the red head. She looked at him expectantly. "Well, Van had to use a transport to go back to Unova today." Kayla tilted her head.
"Huh? Whyyyy?" asked the girl with a frown.
"Well, today is Van's sister's birthday today," answered Aubram. She straightened up and smiled.
"Oh, I know all about sisters!" replied Kayla. Tee sweated a little.
"Trust me, you do not know about Satan's child," replied Tee. They all shook in fear.
Meanwhile, back in Unova, snow is falling on the small town of Nuevema, where Van is celebrating his sister's fifteenth birthday. He has a new white flannel scarf to keep him warm, while the others are wearing regular winter attire. Van took a sip of his black coffee, as he hates anything added to it, and looks at his sister, who was looking at him expectantly.
"Need something?" asked Van, who took another sip. His little sister with black hair and green eyes, wearing a pink tank top tied around her neck, black pants just cut above the knee, and green bracelets sighed.
"You know what I want," said Marissa, while at the same time making an evil look. Van took another sip, and waited a bit. He waited some more, but finally grinned and grabbed a card out of his pocket.
"Here ya go squirt," responded Van. Marissa looked at the card with an annoyed face.
"What the heck is this? Who am I, Sam?" asked Marissa. Van choked a bit and looked at his sister angrily.
"That's a card worth nine-thousand Ryu, you little jerk! I never had that when I started my journey," retorted Van. Marissa looked at him strangely, which made their mother and father eye Van. Van realized his mistake and banged the wall. From the stairs came a boy her age with black hair and glasses, a girl her age with blonde hair and a giant green hat, and a young woman with light brown hair and a lab coat. Marissa looked at them strangely.
"Well, like Van said, he never had that much when he started, but you'll be an exception," answered the young woman. Marissa's eyes widened as she ran over to hug the young girl.
"We're getting our own Pokemon?!" asked Marissa. The young blonde smiled nervously.
"Yes, we are!" replied the eager young girl, who sweated nervously. Marissa looked at the young boy with glasses with an annoyed look.
"Well don't stare you little perv!" yelled Marissa. The boy jumped.
"Excuse me?" asked the boy.
"Oh come on Cheren," began Marissa, who put her hand on her sides, "Two young, pretty girls like me and Bianca hugging…I know what you were thinking!" Cheren jumped, and blushed.
"I wasn't thinking of any such thing!" yelled Cheren, who, while blushing, adjusted his glasses. Van put his coffee down.
"You sure you want to unleash this horror into the region, unattended, with creatures that could destroy a small town, if not half the region, Prof. Juniper?" asked Van. She pondered nervously.
"She would really do that!?" asked the young woman. Van's mom and dad, as well as Cheren and Van nodded their heads. Marissa looked at Bianca with a evil expression.
"Well then Bianca, what about you, dear?" asked Marissa. Van, from behind, made a signal to not say anything, which made Bianca sweat a lot. Marissa sighed and wrapped her arms around Bianca's neck. "Well then, let's get our Pokemon!" yelled the girl as she charged upstairs. Bianca looked at the others with a worried look on her face.
"Help me!" whispered the girl. Cheren simply adjusted his glasses and walked up the stairs. Van's mom grabbed a camera and walked upstairs too.
"I missed my moment with Van, so I'm not missing Marissa's!" yelled their mother. Juniper, Van's father, and Van looked at each other nervously as they peeked upstairs. They saw Marissa holding a small pig Pokemon, commonly known as Tepig, and was frightened by the sight.
"Together, Porky, we will take over Unova, no, the WORLD!" said Marissa, with an evil glare in her eyes, following a maniacal laughter. Tepig shook a little, followed by everyone else in the room. Van walked downstairs, followed by the other adults. Suddenly, crashing sounds could be heard from upstairs, as well as screaming noises, and falling pieces of the downstairs ceiling covered in fire. Van sweated nervously, and hugged his mom and dad goodbye. Then he finally pressed a button on his watch and warped away in a flash of light back to whence he came.
"Is there any way we can go with him?" asked Van's father, as another chunk of the ceiling fell down.
Moments later, Van appeared in the food court with his friends. Frecesta jumped in fright, but the others simply waved. Van sighed and took off his scarf as he grabbed a chair and sat between Samuel and Kayla. Frecesta leaned in to Kayla's ear.
"Well, he's cute isn't he!" complemented the white haired girl. Kayla jumped and laughed nervously. Frecesta extended her hand to Van. "Hello, my name's Frecesta, Kayla's bff. You must be Van," said the girl. Van raised a finger to the others.
"Ukiland region," answered Tee. Van nodded and shook her hand. Aubram snapped his fingers.
"So, how'd it go?" asked Aubram. Van scoffed.
"Let's just say that my gift got upstaged by Juniper's," answered Van. Sam jumped.
"You don't mean…" Sam was chattering his teeth.
"Yeah, she chose Tepig," replied Van, "And she named him Porky." The guys widened their eyes, and Tee tried his best not to cry out of fear. Kayla tilted her head.
"Hold on, what's wrong?" asked the blue haired girl. Aubram crossed his arms.
"Marissa is evil. She may be three years younger than Van, but she has the ability of blackmail, bribery, lying, cheating, and revenge, and she's not afraid to use any of those," said Aubram. Frecesta looked at him confused.
"Surely you must be joking?" asked Frecesta. Kayla also looked in.
"No. Just no," replied Van. He pointed at Tee. "She made him think that Team Plasma had hacked into Amanita's pc!" pointed the blonde. Tee blushed. He then pointed at Sam, "She took his Pokemon away when a hoard of Beedrill visited the region!" yelled Van, which made Sam sniff as he rubbed a lower part of his back. Finally, he pointed at Aubram, "And then she blackmailed him into being her slave for a week, and that was all in one day!" yelled Van, making Aubram sweat. Kayla sweated.
"Well, remind me not to get on her bad side then," said the girl nervously. Tee looked at Kayla with an interested look.
"Hey, didn't you say you knew what it was like? Like you had a sister?" asked Tee. Van looked at her surprised, and thought she looked familiar.
"Why yes!" said Kayla, who then pointed to the giant monitor in the food court, "That's her right there!" Suddenly, the gang looked to see Kallen, with an angry expression, challenging a young woman with long, flowing, blue hair, green eyes, a red flower in her hair, white stockings, brown shoes, and a black and pink floral patterned long sleeved dress. Aubram snapped.
"Wait wait wait wait wait! You're telling me that Kasey is your sister!?" asked Aubram. Sam looked at him strangely.
"Who's Kasey again?" asked Sam. Tee stood up and looked at Sam angrily.
"How do you not know who she is? She's the top trainer here with a score that is literally over nine thousand and is also the only one currently carrying a five star status right now!" yelled Tee. Sam snapped his fingers and nodded his head; however Van looked at the boy on the screen dogging her out.
"Kallen," said Van. He suddenly stood up and ran toward the Architect Sector, and was quickly followed by the others.
In the Architect Sector, in the main plaza layered with brick by brick tiling of the ground and copies of the ancient European buildings, a crowd surrounds Kallen and Kasey as Van and the others make it just in time. Kallen can be seen with a vein bulging from his forehead.
"Didn't you hear me, bitch? I said I want a battle! I'm not leaving until I prove that I'm a man again!" yelled Kallen. Kasey smiled calmly, almost as if given a complement.
"And you're going to do that by beating me, a woman?" asked the girl with a soft and smooth voice. Guys in the audience cheered and blushed, while the girls cheered for Kasey. Van and the others managed to budge their way to the front. Kallen looked at Van with murderous intent, but grinned.
"Well, if it isn't the LOSER!" yelled Kallen. Van grinned.
"Says the jackass that lost yesterday. Enjoying your last days on the island?" asked Van. Kasey looked at Van, as he looked at Kallen with a determined grinned on his face. Kasey smiled and looked at Kallen.
"Pay attention, LOSER, as I prove that I don't need my old man's Pokemon to wipe the floor with this hag!" Kayla steamed, but Kasey wagged her finger.
"Alright, I'll battle you. Is three on three okay with you?" asked the girl. Kallen grinned.
"Hell no," retorted the man, "I want an all out battle with you, six, on, six!" The crowd looked astonished, but Kasey grabbed a ball and kissed it.
"That's fine," replied the woman. Men from the audience wooed.
"Even when insulted she's as sweet as honey!"
"We love you Kasey!"
"Kick his ass Kasey!"
"Call me!" yelled Aubram, who then got the stink face from Samuel and Tee. Kasey looked around, but couldn't find anything.
"Maybe we could move somewhere with less people and a monitor?" asked Kasey. Kallen interrupted.
"Hell no! I could care less about these losers! Right here and right now!" yelled the boy. Kasey sighed, but pressed a section on the Pokeball. Kallen grinned, but Van stepped forth.
"If you even make an attempt at the audience or any person in general," began Van, whose Crobat came out of the ball, and gave an angry look, "We'll take you out the second we get." Van then pressed a button on his C-gear, which made a holographic monitor to appear in midair and a holographic keyboard to appear on Van's C-gear. With a few taps on the keys, a Dark blue circle appeared on Kasey's side, and a Red Circle appeared on Kallen's side. In-between the two appeared twelve yellow marks. Six appeared on each side respectively in rows of offset threes. Kallen grinned as he grabbed an Ultra ball from his waist.
"Destroy her, Steelix!" yelled Kallen as he threw the ball high in the air. The ball flashed, revealing a gigantic, steel, snake-like Pokemon looming over the plaza. Sam looked at the Pokemon and nearly peed himself. People were screaming, but Kasey simply sighed.
"Don't worry, this won't take long," assured Kasey. The audience cheered as she gracefully threw her customized ball, which looked like a blue tennis ball, high into the air. The ball separated along the white lines, making a medium sized, white furred, and black faced creature with a black scythe growing upwards from its head appear.
"Absol," calmly spoke the creature in a feminine voice. Kallen snapped.
"Are you serious? That thing won't land a single hit!" yelled Kallen. Kasey smiled.
"We'll just see about that," calmly replied Kasey. Van looked at both sides and raised his hands. Finally, he waved them downwards to begin the fight. Kasey started to point, but Kallen interrupted.
"Use Iron Head!" yelled Kallen. Steelix dove at Absol with a shining head and a loud roar, but neither Absol nor Kasey flinched.
"Avoid it," said Kasey, calmly. Absol simply stepped to the left and avoided the crashing hit of the attack. "Now jump on its head," said Kasey. Absol leaped on top of Steelix's head and laid down. Kallen growled and pointed.
"Use Iron Tail!" yelled Kallen. Steelix's tail shined and crashed down on its head, but Absol stepped down before the tail crashed down on its own head. Steelix was out cold. Kallen jumped. "What the hell just happened!?" yelled the boy. The crowd laughed, which angered him.
"If it would have hit Absol, it would have been a critical hit," calmly replied Kasey. Van pressed a button, making one yellow card on Kallen's side of the screen fade to black. Kallen growled and threw the ball at Steelix. He then reached in his belt for another ball and threw it. Out of the ball came a giant, purple Pokemon with many pipes protruding from its head. He screamed in a deafening tone from all the pipes.
"EXXXXXXXXPPPPPPLLLLLOOOOOUUUUUUDDDDDD!!!!!!!!!!!" people struggled back to their feet, while Frecesta tapped her head.
"Wow, is everybody okay?" asked the girl. Tee looked at her with confusion.
"WHAT!?" yelled Tee. She repeated herself.
"WHAAAAATT!?" yelled Sam and Aubram, but she decided not to continue. Van raised his arms out again. Kasey sighed and parted her hair. Van gave the signal to start.
"Exploud, use Superpower!" yelled Kallen. Exploud suddenly ran towards Absol with tremendous might, but she didn't budge.
"Psycho Cutter," calmly spoke Kasey. Absol's horn began glowing a bright pink as the Pokemon sprinted towards Exploud. Exploud swung as he got close, but Absol jumped in a cork screw motion to avoid it and slash Exploud with a gigantic blade. As Exploud flew, Kallen snapped his fingers.
"Hyper Beam!" yelled Kallen. But as Exploud charged his cannon, Kasey called out.
"Dark Pulse," calmly spoke Kasey. Absol's body exploded in darkness and slammed Exploud to the ground, knocking him out as the graceful beauty landed softly on the ground. Van tapped the button, removing another yellow card. Kallen growled as he threw the ball at Exploud and threw another ball in the air, releasing a floating face covered in ice.
"Glalie….." said Glalie. He looked at Absol and laughed, afterwards making a taunting face. Van raised his hands and growled.
"How disgraceful," whispered Van. He lowered his hands, which started the battle.
"Flamethrower," calmly said Kasey. Absol opened her mouth and fire shot from it, enveloping Glalie. In almost no time at all, he fell, out cold from the burn. Kallen growled in anger.
"WHAT THE HELL!?" yelled Kallen, "I call a cheap move!" Van laughed.
"Says the man that used his own father's Pokemon in our battle, and who refuses to battle somewhere safe," retorted Van, who removed a third yellow card. Kallen growled.
"You know what, you're lucky I'm battling right now, otherwise that watch of yours would be SHOVED UP YOUR-" yelled Kallen, but Kasey interrupted.
"Just calm down," calmly suggested Kasey in a soft and smooth voice, "Losing your cool will only distract you from the task at hand." Kasey almost seemed to smile, but Kallen wasn't moved.
"YOU SHUT UP!" yelled the boy. He threw the ball back at Glalie, denting his head. He then grabbed a Great Ball and threw it high in the air. Suddenly, a rush of dark fire fell from the ball, forming a black canine with horns.
"HOOOUND!" yelled Houndoom. Van raised his hands and lowered them again. Kallen pointed.
"Hell Flame!" yelled Kallen. The others jumped as Houndoom's eyes began glowing a bright red and blue fire surrounded him. Kallen laughed maniacally as Kasey crossed her arms. "Like it? It's a move I created. It combines both of Houndoom's types together into one!" yelled Kallen. Houndoom finally launched a black fire beam from his mouth aiming straight for Absol. Kasey smiled.
"Not bad, but we have something similar," replied Kasey. Kallen jumped. "Psycho Joust!" pointed Kasey. Absol summoned the powers of darkness and psychic energy to create a shining lance on the side of her head. She then dodged the flames, which fell to the ground. Kallen laughed.
"Some pro! You forgot that Psychic types don't do crap against Dark types, and that Dark on Dark isn't that effective," yelled Kallen. However, Absol struck Houndoom, making the fire and lance fade away. Houndoom collapsed on impact. "WHAT!? BUT HOW!?" yelled Kallen. Kasey grinned.
"Psycho Joust uses the Dark type status to eliminate the Dark type of the target, which allows the Psychic energy to hit and be super effective," answered Kasey, "To put it simpler, the powers of Psychic and Dark combined to create the Light type, which is super effective against Dark types." Kallen growled, as the audience clapped.
"That was excellent Kasey!" yelled Kayla.
"An excellent lesson!" yelled Frecesta. Kallen stomped his foot on the ground in anger.
"STOP CLAPPING!" yelled the man. He threw the ball back at Houndoom and threw a regular ball in the air.
"Blastoise!" yelled Kallen. The ball exploded in a torrent of water as a giant turtle standing on hind legs appeared. It stretched its body and opened the shoulder sections of the shell, revealing two cannons.
"Blast…" calmly spoke the creature. Van looked at it strangely, but shrugged it off. Kasey finally said what everyone was thinking.
"Your Blastoise seems different from your other Pokémon," commented the girl, whose hair fluttered in the wind, making men awe at her grace. Kallen didn't respond though, except by looking at Van.
"Hey, you gonna start the battle anytime soon?" asked the boy. Van seemed shocked by his lowered tone, but lowered his hands.
"Absol, use Psycho Cutter," calmly suggested Kasey. Absol's horn turned pink again as she charged at her opponent.
"Focus Blast!" commanded Kallen. Blastoise aimed his cannons at the moving Pokémon and fired several orange orbs at it, each one hitting the ground and leaving small craters. Kallen surprisingly stayed calm. "Iron Defense!" commanded Kallen. Blastoise withdrew into its shell, which began to glow as Absol slashed with its mighty horn. Kasey seemed to smile at Kallen's calm demeanor. "Rapid Spin!" yelled Kallen, which made the giant turtle spin on its back with Absol on it. Kallen grinned, "Now use Hydro Pump!" yelled the boy. Kasey watched as Blastoise made a tornado of water envelope Absol, who yelled as she lost health. Kasey actually started to sweat a little.
"Dark Pulse!" yelled the girl. Absol's body exploded with dark energy the imploded the water into all directions. Kallen didn't react at all.
"Focus Blast!" commanded Kallen, as Blastoise fired several rounds into the blast, which each punctured the darkness, making explosions as they hit Absol on contact. Kasey looked in shock, as well as the crowd. Van looked at the HP bar, and was relieved to see that it still had a few Hit Points left. Kallen grinned, as well as Blastoise, but was utterly shocked when a gigantic bolt of lightning struck the giant tortoise, making the small puddles of water on the ground sparkle with electricity. Finally, Blastoise fell to the ground after the shock ended. Absol fell to the ground, but barely landed on all fours. Van removed another yellow card from Kallen's side, which surprisingly didn't anger him. He then grabbed the ball, and instead of throwing it at Blastoise, he simply him turn into a blue orb of energy and return to the ball. When he pulled out another ball, he had snapped. "WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT!?" yelled Kallen. The audience finally came out of shock.
"That was Absol's Thunder. I will admit, you handled your Pokémon much, much better than the others," commented Kasey. Kallen growled.
"Aw shut it," began the boy, "The giant lug won't listen to me if I start mistreating him, and it doesn't matter if I handled him better, he still lost, which makes him a disgrace!" yelled Kallen. Kasey frowned.
"Would it hurt to praise your partners for doing a good job?" asked the girl. Kallen growled.
"I would, if they had WON! If they lose, then they're no better than these other losers!" yelled Kallen, as he threw his last Ultra Ball in the air. The ball exploded, making a large, spiky creature appear. As he formed, his tail came first, then his long arms, then his legs, his head, his spikes, and finally, his wings. The creature was revealed to have a red face and barbs on his body, as well as an overall blue color to his body. Kallen smirked, "Now, LET THESE LOSERS HEAR YOUR CRY!" yelled the boy. The dragon reared back, and uttered a loud boom.
"AAAARRRRAAAAAAUUUGGHHHH!!!!!!" roared Druddigon. Kallen smirked with murderous intent as he looked at this monster.
"Like it? This is the strongest member of my team! Druddigon never loses!" yelled Kallen. The audience looked at the creature in fear.
"I still don't like it," commented Sam, "It looks like a third grader drew it." The dragon looked at Sam with murderous intent and roared. Sam jumped and hid behind Aubram, who hid behind Tee, who slapped his face.
"Of course it's a dragon, who doesn't have a fricken dragon!?" yelled Tee. Kayla looked at the dragon in fear.
"I'm scared," began the girl, "Druddigon loses his temper easily, and there are so many people here who could get hurt." Crobat, who had fallen asleep on Van's back, woke up, crossed his eyes, and drew up his lips.
"Crrrrrrr," yelled Crobat, who sweated as he concentrated an ominous, purple shield around the Pokémon. Crobat stopped, and took deep breaths, which made Van pat his head.
"Good idea buddy," said Van, which made Crobat smile. Kallen grinned.
"Great, now I won't have to hold back!" yelled the man, which made Kasey sharpen her eyes. Van raised his arms, and finally lowered them. Kasey pointed at the dragon.
"Blizzard!" yelled the girl. Absol's horn shined with a cold aura as ice cold wind shot from it. Kallen grinned.
"Earthquake!" yelled Kallen. The dragon stomped, making the ground around Absol grumble and making the attack useless. Kallen smirked with an evil look. "Now, Outrage!" yelled the man. Druddigon's eyes began glowing a bright red as he swung his arms in all directions at Absol, who desperately tried to dodge the attacks, but a few hit her. Druddigon finally calmed down, but struggled to stand up right. Kallen growled. "Dammit! He's confused!" yelled the man, "Hit her with Night Slash!" Druddigon's right arm began to blaze with black energy. The monster yelled as he charged at Absol, but tripped due to confusion. Kallen jumped up and down, "NO NO NO NO NO!" yelled the man, as a vein was clearly visible from his neck. Kasey parted her hair.
"Just when you were doing so well," said the girl, "Finish it with Ice Beam," said the girl. Absol released a white beam from her mouth which froze Druddigon on contact. Finally, Druddigon was unconscious, and Van removed the final Yellow card from Kallen's side. Kallen growled and ran toward him.
"NO! I WILL NOT LOSE HERE! PUT THAT CARD BAAAAAACK!" yelled the man as he rushed at Van. Van smirked as Crobat came from behind and slapped him with his wing, making a tooth fall out. Kallen looked up at the man and growled. "I WILL NOT LOSE!" yelled the man. Van pressed a button, removing the red dot on the screen and singling the blue dot on the screen. Finally, a bright yellow message, reading winner, began blinking.
"I'd say you just did," replied Van. The audience cheered as Kasey bent down to pat Absol on the head. The field was lifted, and Kasey walked over to Kallen to extend a hand, which Kallen slapped away.
"I don't need your charity!" yelled Kallen. Van bent over to look at him straight in the eye.
"What the hell is wrong with you?" asked Van, "Why can't you just accept a loss and treat others with the same respect you want?" Kallen growled, but was interrupted.
"Kallen, I almost had hope for you when you sent out Blastoise," said Kasey, "But I would consider how I treat my partners if I were you. How would you feel if every time you made a small mistake, someone threw a ball at your head, or screamed at you, or hit you?" Kallen growled at her, but actually pondered those questions. He shook it off and stood up.
"Fine, you win," admitted Kallen, surprising everyone, "But when I come back," began the man, as he looked at Van, "I'll pummel you so hard and deep into the ground that you'll need dentures!" Van looked at him seriously.
"Get an attitude check first, then we'll settle the score," replied the blonde. Kallen growled, and started to walk off into the sunset. Van called back out. "I want a fight with your real team next time! Got it, Jackass!?" yelled Van. Kallen looked back and growled.
"Don't worry, I won't even need a full team next time!" replied Kallen, as he warped away. The large crowd had gone away, leaving the gang and Kasey. She looked at Van and smiled.
"So, you're that guy Kayla's been going on about," calmly spoke Kasey. Kayla jumped, embarrassed, but rubbed her head. Aubram interrupted though.
"Say, any chance I could get you to have dinner with me?" asked the boy. Kasey smiled, almost as if she would say yes.
"Thank you, but I do not think my boyfriend would like that very much," answered the girl, crushing his spirit.
"It…It's okay…" said the boy, as his Electivire jumped out of his ball, embraced him him a bear hug, and began crying, much to Aubram's dismay. She smiled at the display, and looked back at Van, as he laughed at his friend.
"I think you would make a great," began the girl, who looked at her little sister blushing, she then smiled and continued in her soothing voice, "a great 'friend boy' for my dear little sister." Van blushed in embarrassment, but over came it when Kayla embraced his arm.
"Yep, he sure is!" answered the girl, making Sam, Tee, and Frecesta giggle like little children, while Aubram still struggled to get away from Electivire. Kasey smiled and waved.
"Well, it was nice to finally meet you. I'll see you again, Van Flyhart," calmly spoke Kasey, as she warped away in a flash of light. Van grinned, while Sam wiggled.
"She is so hot!" yelled the red head. Even Tee entered.
"And she's so nice!" yelled Tee. Van let out a huff of laughter.
"I'd like to fight her one day too!" declared the blonde. The others looked at him like he was an idiot.
"Only you would consider a battle the equivalent of a date," said Sam. Van tilted his head in confusion.
"You mean it's not?" asked Van. Tee slapped his head, but the others laughed, leaving Van utterly confused, and Aubram with six broken ribs, as he yelled out.
"WILL SOMEBODY HELP ME FROM THIS GIANT TEDDY BEAR!?"

Episode 4
The next day, the gang was at the practice fields, which is basically a grassy area for things like sports or picnics, or just training in general. Van sat down on the ground, next to Kayla and Sam, while at the same time cuddling his Flareon, as Sam cuddled his Glaceon, and Kayla cuddled her Furret, as they watched Tee and Aubram battle each other. Tee stood wearing his special sunglasses that gleamed a bright blue, while keeping his arms crossed. There stood, in front of him, a fiery Pokémon with a yellow belly and a black back that eagerly awaited orders from his master. Aubram, on the other hand, actually had his sweater off, revealing a sky blue, collared t-shirt. There before him stood a blue seahorse like Pokémon with antlers and a nozzle mouth, also awaiting orders. The two trainers looked at each other, as the wind blew. It was silent, so silent that if one were to concentrate, they might actually hear a western tune being played, increasing the tension between the two…..until Van slapped Sam in the back of the head, making him stop the annoying whistling.
"Let's get this over with already!" yelled Van, who was getting irritated, "We've been sitting here for five minutes!" Aubram looked at Van nervously, which made Tee grin as he adjusted his sunglasses.
"Shadow Claw!" yelled Tee, whose coat tail fluttered as he epically pointed at Kingdra. Typhlosion grinned as his eyes turned from a crimson red to a bright green with slit pupils. His right paw enveloped in a dark, flowing energy, Typhlosion launched at the seahorse before Aubram could even notice it.
"TYYYYYY!" yelled the Pokémon as he charged the enemy. Kingdra suddenly noticed as well.
"Uh, uh, uh!" Aubram panicked, as he was caught off guard. He shook his head rapidly and pointed. "Kingdra, Hydro-," but before he could finish, Typhlosion knocked out Kingdra with a swift and powerful punch. Kingdra lay on the ground, knocked out. Aubram had a defeated look on his face, that literally explained what everyone was thinking. "What the hell?!" yelled Aubram. Van, Sam, and Kayla all seemed to have the same face. Tee grinned and gave Typhlosion a high five.
"Oh yeah! Once the shades come on, we are unbeatable!" yelled Tee. Typhlosion also cheered in delight. Aubram returned Kingdra to his ball, and rubbed the back of his head in embarrassment.
"Whoops, my bad!" calmly replied Aubram. Van shook his head in disappointment.
"Dude, you seriously need to focus," lectured Sam. Aubram grinned in his idiotic way.
"What? You know I do tons better when I get serious. Plus this was just for fun!" answered Aubram. Kayla smiled, but looked at Tee, who was really energetic at his quick victory, but took off his shades, and suddenly became calmer. She tilted her head in confusion.
"I don't get it," began Kayla, "Why does he…"
"Tee turns into a battling maniac when he slips those shades on, but without them, he returns to his calm persona," answered Van. Kayla looked at Aubram as well, but Van pointed behind her, showing two girls walking over to cheer Aubram up. "It's as he says, he was just playing around. When he gets serious, Aubram can be rather troublesome," replied Van.
"Van, your friends are weird," said the blue haired girl. Van grinned.
"Welcome to the family." Kayla looked at him with wonder.
"Family?" asked the girl. She looked around at the boys and their Pokémon, how Tee wiped his shades, how Aubram basked in the attention of the girls, how red faced Sam became when he realized just what he was doing in the first place, and how calmly Van seemed to behave in the chaos. Kayla smiled and closed her hands over her heart, "Family…."
Later that evening, sitting atop of a building, staring out into the purple sunset a man waits for something. The lights of a new born city veil this man in the shadows, so it's hard to see what this man looks like. He sits over the edge of the building with one leg hanging off the edge, and the other crouched up, with one of his arms resting upon it, while the other just lies on the rooftop. Suddenly, his cell phone rings, which he opens and places to his ear.
"Vermillion Commerce Bank, bring back ten million," said the man on the other end of the phone in an Ukiland accent.
"Understood," replied the man in a dark and raspy voice, as he hung the phone up. He placed the phone back in his coat pocket and stood up, tucking his hands into his pockets as he stared out into the city. He grinned, and suddenly just jumped off the tall building! Not much is known about what happened to him, unfortunately.
Back in another sector of town, the gang of five walk through a barely lit part of town, with Kayla and Sam shaking in fear, while Van was also sweating nervously, as he was deathly afraid of the dark. With Aubram leading the way, the gang finally stops.
"What the heck are we looking for again?" asked Tee, who looked at Sam and slapped his face, which made Sam blush in embarrassment. Aubram turned around and smiled.
"I heard that there's some shop around here that sells a special item that makes your Pokémon do twice as better in battle!" answered the boy, who still didn't have his jacket on. Van looked around at the environment and shook his head.
"Yeah, in a place like this, they're called 'contraband'," answered Van, which made Aubram jump and smile in embarrassment.
"Whoops?" replied the boy. Kayla stomped her foot.
"Great, now can we leave!?" demanded the girl, "You always hear bad things about little girls like me in dark places like this…" Kayla was shaking and grabbed Sam's arm, who was not much better.
"Yeah, and they always mug the gingers first!" replied Sam, "I'm a ginger!" Tee slapped his face in embarrassment. Van smiled nervously.
"Okay, okay, we'll be going now, let's just calm…" began Van, until a man with torn jeans, sandals, a beer stained gray t-shirt, a moustache and beard, long and messy blonde hair, and blue eyes wrapped his arm around Van's neck and raised a beer bottle up in the air.
"Hey man, why leave so soon!" asked the man. Suddenly, a large, blue tentacle creature, commonly known as Tangrowth, embraced Sam and Kayla, which freaked them out. The man reeked of alcohol, which made Van's nose twitch, and on top of that, he was slurring his words. The man was obviously drunk. "Tonight's karaoke night at the…..the…..the bar, man!" spoke the man again. Aubram started sweating.
"Stranger danger," whispered the boy. Van got tired of him and back fisted the man, knocking him out cold. Kayla also got annoyed.
"EW! Tentacles!" screamed the girl as she flipped the Pokémon on its back. The creature wasn't unconscious, but was just too lazy to move. Sam looked at the girl, still steaming from anger, and shook a little. Tee saw this and laughed.
"That's right Sam, if she can do that to something that big, she would have no problem mugging you here," taunted Tee. Sam jumped.
"Stop scaring me like that!" yelled the ginger. Van shook his head in embarrassment. "Okay guys, let's just calm down," spoke Van, "Let's go get some milkshakes."
Van lead the group out of the dark sector and into a brightly lit part of town filled with bustling people and random street performers. Van exhaled a breath of relief, as the bright lights always seemed to calm him down.
"The bright lights always seem to calm me down," spoke Van. The others couldn't help but feel a moment of déjà vu when he said that, but was interrupted by the sound of shattering glass in the building right before them. The gang jumped, but was shocked to see a man in black pants, a black, fur collared jacket which was zipped up, black hair and red eyes flying out of the window with a special Manectric, which was black instead of blue, and had blue eyes instead of red. The man had a sack of money in his hands, and looked around to see several policemen around him. Each had a canine type Pokémon by their side.
"Halt! Drop any Pokeballs you have right now and surrender!" yelled a cop. The man smirked, and looked down at his canine to signal it to lower its fangs. The policeman walked forth with handcuffs, but the mysterious thief punched him out cold. Two more appeared, which he quickly disposed of with an uppercut and a roundhouse kick. One tried to sneak up on him, but the man flipped him over his back into the crowd of officers. Suddenly, the group of men and Pokémon all charged at the man, which he disposed of the first four with a few punches, kicks and flips, and dealt with the surrounding officers by dropping to his hands and spinning around to roundhouse them all until not one officer or Pokémon remained conscious. The gang saw this, which made Samuel very mad.
"Hey! Who the hell do you think you are!?" yelled the red head. The man looked at him with a raised eyebrow, but smirked.
"The hell do you care, Marsian?" asked the man. Sam was infuriated and charged at the man, but was cut off by a fast as lighting kick to the stomach, knocking him to his bottom, which still stung from the Beedrill attack from long ago. Van stepped forth, prepping his X-glove for duty.
"We're the Troll Brigade, and we deal with people like you for a living," answered Van, holding his fist up in determination, following the release of his Flareon, who growled in anger. Tee sweated a little, as he hated that name with a passion. The man looked at him and smirked.
"I thought you looked familiar, Vandal Buster, a.k.a. Van Flyhart," replied the man. Van raised an eyebrow, "Looks like you have no idea who I am," replied the man as he pointed a thumb to his face, "Dade Cruise," Van's eyes widened in shock, while Aubram stepped forth.
"I don't care who you are!" declared the boy, "Nobody gets Ginger like that except for us!" Sam looked at him with a sad face.
"Gee, you really do care…" sarcastically said Sam. Dade began laughing in a soft tone.
"Looks like we've got a live one," Dade said, while wiping his hair, "Let's just see if you can back those threats up," said the man as he kicked up a man-hole lid and dove into the sewers, followed by his faithful canine in crime.
"The sewers? Really? The sewers of all places!" complained Tee as he charged in first. Sam stood up while holding his stomach, which made Kayla worry.
"Are you sure you're okay?" asked the girl. Sam took off his hat and placed it in Kayla's hand.
"Just who the hell does he think he is calling me a Marsian!?" mumbled the boy as he jumped in too. Aubram looked at her with a funny face.
"Watch his hat, that's an important gift," coolly said Aubram as he jumped in after them. Van gritted his teeth.
"Those idiots have no idea who they're messing with," began Van. Kayla looked at him with a confused look, "You don't need to get involved in this," commanded Van as he jumped in too.
Down in the damp, dark, surface lit sewers, Van encounters a problem, but runs into Aubram. As it turned out, the sewers branched out into multiple paths, but started in 4 paths. Aubram was deciding which one to take when Van showed up.
"Oh, there you are," greeted Aubram. Van looked around.
"So, four paths, one for each of us," commented Van. Aubram looked back with a sweat.
"Well, that would be the case, except I'm not sure which path to take…" replied the boy with a nervous smile. Van let Flareon sniff the ground, who barked out in a certain direction. Van nodded his head in that particular direction, and instead of going in the fourth direction, Aubram followed him. Up ahead in the same path, Tee is chasing Dade on foot, and is in his line of vision. He puts on his shades, but notices that he can't see too well in the dark, so He is forced to put them away. Dade looked back and grinned, and finally slowed to a stop. Tee tried to continue, but Manectric blocked his way with his sparking teeth, which seemed to carry small jolts of electricity through water.
"Well, you're certainly persistent, Tee Willingham," spoke Dade. Tee's eyes widened.
"How do you know my name?" asked Tee. Dade looked at his c-gear and shrugged.
"I wish I could tell you, but I don't have the time to say," replied Dade, who reached for a Dusk Ball. As he threw it in the air, the ball seemed to seep a dark energy that finally exploded into a shadowy figure. Tee sweated with anticipation, but was finally able to clarify the Pokémon as an Egyptian coffin like Pokémon, commonly known as Coffagrigus.
"Ehehehehe….." laughed the ghost with an evil face and eyes that seemed to glow with piercing perception. Tee grinned.
"Is that all?" declared the man, making Dade raise an eyebrow. Tee then grabbed a ball from the inside of his coat pocket, which was a regular Pokeball, and after an elaborate stance, threw the ball into the air. "Let's go, Amber!" yelled Tee, after which a black and gray, dog-like Pokémon appeared. Upon landing on the watery ground she growled at the mysterious ghost.
"YENA!" howled the Mightyena. Dade shrugged.
"Meh, wish I could stick around to see your plan, but…" Dade grabbed his bag and began walking off, "I have a delivery to make. Coffagrigus, keep him distracted for a bit, would ya?" asked Dade. Tee jumped.
"There's no way I'll," began Tee, before the ghost cut him off. Coffagrigus then widened its eyes, which became as thin as needles, and began to glow a bright blue. Suddenly, a gigantic eye appeared over the field and cast a shadowy shield over the three. Tee gritted his teeth as Dade ran off into the dark sewers, but sighed in relief. "Oh well, at least I don't have to worry about some long, drawn out battle," assured the man. He looked at his dog, whom was eagerly waiting for orders.
"Rarf rarf!" barked Mightyena.
"Alright Amber, let's get the main trouble out of the way!" declared Tee, who grinned with excitement, "Amber, use Odor Sleuth!" yelled Tee. Amber barked as she inhaled through her nose. As she exhaled, a purple steam wafted around Coffagrigus, who tilted its head.
"Coffa?"
"Now we shouldn't have to worry too terribly much about your ghost powers," replied Tee, who tucked his hand into his pocket and pointed the other at the ghost. "Alright Amber, let's use Fire Fang!" yelled Tee.
"Rarf!" Mightyena's mouth became engulfed with flames as it charged at the ghost Pokémon. However, Coffagrigus faded until he wasn't visible anymore. Mightyena stopped, and began to sniff the air. Her mouth burned again as she bit the invisible ghost hiding next to her. The ghost wailed in pain as he faded from invisibility to visibility from the sheer shock of the pain.
"Alright, let's use Shadow Ball to finish it off!" yelled Tee. Mightyena's mouth went from fire to pulsating shadows as she released the ghost and launched a shadowy blob of energy straight at the Pokémon, knocking it out. Tee grinned, as he grabbed an oddly shaped ball that looked as if it was just a ball made out of wire that was welded together. It looked as if it had four curbed wires attached to a wire surrounding the ball. Tee tossed it in the air, which made the unconscious Coffagrigus returned to its shadowy energy form and enter the makeshift ball. As it entered, it was temporarily contained within the ball, with energy still pulsating inside. Tee grabbed the ball and grinned. "Hehe, looks like my invention works!" declared the man. He then looked in the general direction that Dade ran off into, when Van and Aubram finally appeared on the scene.
"Tee!" yelled Van. Tee looked back to grin, and pointed the ball at them.
"Look guys! The Breaker Ball works!" yelled Tee. Aubram looked at the odd wire ball with glowing energy held inside.
"Breaker ball?" asked the boy. Tee began to raise a finger.
"Now's not the time!" interrupted Van. Tee looked at him, shocked, "We need to find Sam and warn him!" With that, Flareon took off, following the scent of the man. Van took off afterwards, while Aubram and Tee struggled to keep up, while Tee sweated.
"Look, it didn't take me too long to beat this guy, so…" began Tee.
"That's Dade's weakest Pokémon," declared Van. Tee jumped, but ran in front of Van with a bulge.
"What, so you're saying that I couldn't beat it if it were some of his stronger 'mons?" asked Tee. Van gritted his teeth.
"If it were certain ones, then yeah!" replied Van. Aubram was confused.
"Hold on, how do you know so much about him?" asked the boy, desperately trying to keep up. Van looked back at him with a serious face.
"How do you not know?" asked Van, "He's Dade Cruise! The second best trainer on the island!" yelled Van. Aubram's eyes widened, while Tee slapped his face.
"Why the hell didn't I recognize him sooner?" asked Tee. Aubram raised an eyebrow.
"More importantly, why is he robbing banks?" asked Aubram.
"That's the million dollar question right there," replied the blonde, "But more importantly, Sam has no idea what he may have gotten himself into!" The gang ran off deeper into the sewers, hoping to find Sam before he found Dade.
Meanwhile, deeper into the sewers, Sam walks alone, trying to find his way around the dark, damp walkway. He holds his breath, as he can't stand the smell of the place, however, he is forced to exhale, and pulls his jacket over his mouth.
"He had to run in the sewers. He just had to run in smelliest place on the entire island!" complained the red head. He had apparently gone down the wrong pathway, and was getting infuriated. "ARGGHHHH! I can't take this anymore!" yelled Samuel, as he reached for a ball on his belt. "I was hoping to do this without help, but I won't be able to get out of here without help." Sam then pressed the button on a red ball with the Silph symbol on the ball. "Swampert, help me out!" yelled the ginger, as the released the Pokémon. The Pokémon flew out in a flash of brightly lit water that lit the sewer area. The Pokémon was then revealed to be a large, blue Pokémon with orange pads on its cheeks, front and hind legs, as well as a white belly, with two black fins on its head and another on its rear end. Swampert inhaled to let out a cry, but then started coughing.
"Swamp! Swamp! Swampert……" coughed the Pokémon. Sam sweated a little.
"Yeah, I need you to trace the vibrations of somebody so that way we can get out of here!" said Sam, muffled by his jacket. Swampert's fins twitched as he focused hard on his surroundings. Finally, the water Pokémon opened its orange eyes and smiled.
"Swamp!" declared the Pokémon, as he ran in a certain direction. Sam grinned and pumped his fist.
"Score! So long Smells-ville!" declared the red head as he ran through the pathway.
Further down the same pathway, we find Dade, sitting next to his faithful Manectric, sweating from exhaustion. He then banged his fist on the ground, while gritting his teeth.
"Dammit! They got Coffagrigus!" yelled Dade. Manectric whined.
"Rrrrr…." whined the dog. Dade seemed puzzled.
"I don't understand," began Dade, "Once defeated, a Pokémon should revert to its energy form and return back to the ball," Dade looked at his C-gear, which showed an X over Coffagrigus's picture, "So how come he isn't back?" Suddenly, splashes could be heard from further down the tunnel. Dade stood up and smirked, but had a sweat bead rolling down his face at the same time."Heh, persistent, aren't they?" claimed Dade as he stood up. Sam and Swampert appeared into view from the darkness, spying Dade as they arrived.
"Aha! There you are!" yelled Sam.
"'Sup Marsian?" asked Dade. Samuel became infuriated.
"Stop calling me Marsian!" yelled the boy. Swampert also was angry. Dade kept a smirk on his face, but inside his head, he was debating about what the best plan of action would be. Suddenly, his phone rang, which surprised Sam. "What the…. That thing gets reception down here!?" exclaimed the red head. Dade answered the phone.
"You have one hour to get me my money, or they will," began the voice on the other end of the line.
"I know, I'll try and hurry up," answered Dade, who hung up. Sam looked at him weird, but Dade went from a worried look back to his cocky smile.
"Looks like I don't have a choice," said Dade, as he grabbed another ball from his hip. He looked at the black ball with the red and golden design, clearly a Luxury Ball, and closed his eyes. "I'm sorry, I promise I'll come back for you guys," thought the man. He threw the ball into the air, releasing a torrent of bubbles that formed a tall, armored Pokémon. It was blue, and had a gold crown with three prongs. It opened its beak with a tremendous cry.
"EMPOLEON!" yelled the penguin Pokémon. Sam moved a leg back in surprise, as this was a rare Pokémon to see, for him anyway. Dade then patted its shoulder.
"Just keep him busy for as long as you can. I promise I'll come back for you," spoke the man. Empoleon nodded as Dade headed into the opposite direction.
"Hold it!" yelled Sam, until Empoleon raised a claw at him. Swampert growled in anger, while Sam was confused, "He just left him behind?" Suddenly, Empoleon's right wing began to glow a bright white, and swung for Swampert, who blocked it with his padded arms.
"Pert!" Swampert struggled to keep Empoleon at bay, while Sam regained his concentration.
"Swampert, give him a good Hammer Arm!" yelled the boy. Swampert growled as his left arm grew to twice its size and turned a bright red. He then slammed it against Empoleon, landing him against the wall. He got up with anger in his eyes and began to roar.
"POOOOOO!!!!" suddenly, a giant wave of green water began to flow from behind Empoleon, aiming straight for Sam and Swampert.
"Swamp!"
"Swampert, counter it with Muddy Water!" yelled the red head, pointing his finger at Empoleon. Swampert then began growling, his whiskers and fins twitching, which created an onslaught of dirty water, filled with tree trunks from unknown locations, and slammed into the Surf water. The water clashed, but several trunks managed to topple over the colliding waves, which broke Empoleon's concentration, sending the waves of dirty water crashing into the penguin. When the water settled, Empoleon's tail fin could be seen dashing through the water, aiming straight for Swampert. Suddenly, the dash turned into a spinning attack. It was using Drill Peck! Sam gritted his teeth, which made Swampert raise its foot, preparing an Earthquake. Sam looked at it and began to frantically wave his hands. "No no no! Don't use that here!" yelled Sam.
"Swampert?" asked the fish. Sam pointed to the ceiling, which made Swampert sweat a little. Empoleon made contact, sending Swampert flying. Sam looked on helplessly, but finally saw an opening. Empoleon struggled to get back up, while Swampert lied on its back.
"Swampert, now's your chance! Use Hammer Arm!" yelled Sam. Swampert's arm enlarged again and swung at the penguin Pokémon, sending him crashing into the ceiling. It was then that the Pokémon was finally knocked out. Sam jumped for joy, but was interrupted by a flying Breaker Ball, which turned Empoleon into a floating orb of blue energy. As the wire ball flew back, Sam saw the others. Before he could say anything, Van grabbed his arm and took off running. "What's going on?" asked Sam.
"Well, we just temporarily captured Dade's Coffagrigus and Empoleon with Tee's Breaker Balls. Now we have to chase Dade!" yelled Van. Sam looked at at Swampert and called it back to its ball. Tee looked at Sam with confusion.
"So, you beat Empoleon?" asked the man. Sam looked back and gave a thumb's up.
"Yep! Piece of cake!" yelled Sam. Aubram looked at him with a funny face.
"The cake is a" began the boy, before Van looked back at him with a threatening face.
"Now's not the time! Dade's getting away!" yelled Van. Sam gained a bit more speed to keep up with him and his Flareon.
"Well we better step up the pace," replied Sam, "Somebody called him on his cell saying that he only had an hour to get back, or…. Well, I couldn't hear anything else," said Sam. Van thought deeply, but Aubram tried giving his two cents on the matter.
"Maybe it's like a pizza delivery, and he won't get paid!" declared the boy. Tee shrugged, which looked silly as they ran.
"That actually seems plausible," said the man, which made Van think deeply.
"But with skills like Dade's, why wouldn't he just take the money for himself?" asked Van. The others heard him thinking out loud, and began to ponder themselves.
As they ran, Dade also ran ahead, checking his C-gear. He gritted his teeth, as another of his Pokémon had been captured. He looked at the time on his watch, noticing that fifteen minutes had already passed since the call, and he looked at his Manectric, still keeping up with him. Dade shook his head and pressed on.
"Darn! Running out of time!" yelled the man. Suddenly, from a path in front of Dade came, rushing to the scene, the "Troll Brigade", fully assembled, appeared before Dade. Dade jumped back in shock, but kept his cool. "So, 'Van the Man' finally catches up," greeted Dade. The gang prepped a Pokeball, while Van returned Flareon to his ball. He stepped towards Dade in a threatening manner.
"Dade, why are you doing this?" asked Van. Dade looked down to the ground in shame.
"What do you know? Maybe I just want to do it for the thrill?" replied the man. Van swung his arm into the air in anger.
"Don't give me that crap!" the others were silent, "You could've been number one on the island! Why do something so stupid like this when you could've vented that somewhere else?" asked Van. Dade looked at him with a confused face, but looked at his C-gear, which had passed another five minutes.
"Wish I could chat, but I don't have the time," replied Dade, who released a Cherish Ball into the air. Out of the ball came a dark aura, which formed a giant, green, armored dinosaur like Pokémon. The Pokémon loomed back.
"TYYYYYYYYYY!!!!" yelled Tyranitar. Van and the others shook, but Aubram grabbed a Pokeball from his belt and threw it in the air, releasing, in a ball of fire, a Pokémon about the size of a tall human, with white fur, blue hands and toes, gold plated hands, knees, and chest, and a flaming head.
"FERNAPE!" yelled Infernape. Van looked at Aubram in a panicked expression. "That's his Tyranitar, you sure you can handle this?" asked the blonde. Aubram looked at him with a grin.
"Of course! I've got a 4x type advantage anyway!" replied the boy. Dade smirked as he snapped his fingers. Suddenly, Tyranitar roared and swung his claw, which made a wave of earth rise from the ground, separating Van from the gang by a wall of earth. While the wave formed, Dade jumped against the wall, pushing with his legs and landing on the ground, taking off farther into the tunnel. Sam and Tee looked through a crack to make sure Van was okay.
"Hey Van, you okay over there?" asked Tee. Van rubbed his head, but quickly stood up and took chase after Dade. He looked back to yell.
"Help Aubram with Tyranitar!" yelled the determined lad, who faced the direction he was running in, "I'll end this now!" Sam turned around to see Aubram and Infernape facing the ferocious beast.
"What are we, chopped liver!?" asked the red head. Aubram snickered.
"Finally, I can get serious!" declared the boy staring with his grey eyes at the monster. Tyranitar then opened its mouth, fuming with dark energy, as he was preparing a hyper beam. Sam and Tee jumped, as they were literally right behind the targets. Aubram snapped his fingers and pointed at Tyranitar. "Infernape, Mach Punch!" yelled the boy.
"FER!" the monkey suddenly charged at the dinosaur with lightning fast reflexes. Tyranitar launched its Hyper Beam attack, which Infernape dodged, even as Tyranitar readjusted its aim, which nearly buzzed Sam's head. Infernape smirked as he punched the dinosaur's blue belly, sending Tyranitar flying towards the back of the tunnel. Aubram caressed his own hair with a smirk.
"Oh yeah, that's more like it," quoted the black haired boy. Tyranitar stood up and summoned a wave of water aiming for the gang, which freaked Sam out. Tee looked at his friend with an embarrassed look.
"Oh would you stop acting like such a baby?" asked Tee. Sam pointed at the gigantic wave with an anger vein on his head.
"Well I can't help that I don't want sewage water to drown me!" retaliated Sam, nervously shaking his finger. Aubram looked back and shook his head.
"Would you relax?" asked the boy, who turned back around, as the wave neared them. He pointed his finger toward Tyranitar. "Okay, let's get him and this wave with Blast Burn!" yelled Aubram. Infernape widened his stance as he prepared his attack. Suddenly, his pupils disappeared from his eyes and the fire on his head grew to twice its size. Finally, his face bright red, Infernape opened his mouth.
"NAAAAAAAAAAAAAPPPPPEEEE!!!" suddenly, a gigantic fireball enveloped the tunnel in a hot light that blasted through the wave, evaporating it into steam, and hitting Tyranitar, leaving smoke where he stood. Aubram grinned, while Sam tried to get the smell of burning sewage away from him. Tee's eyes focused on the smoke.
"It's not over yet," spoke the man. Aubram looked at the smoke with a nonchalant face.
"I thought as much, but we can't do much right now," replied Aubram, looking at Infernape, panting and sweating with one eye open, "Infernape has to recharge after that attack." Suddenly, from the smoke, Tyranitar lunged out and charged directly for the gang, which scared Sam into Tee's arms, which was quickly corrected with a slap. Aubram sweated a little, but saw Infernape give him a smirk and a thumb up. Aubram grinned, "You already recharged?" asked the boy.
"Nape!" replied the monkey. Aubram pointed his fingers at Tyranitar,
"Alright, this might be complicated, but I want you to combine three moves! Blaze Kick, Fire Punch, and Close Combat!" without a second thought, Infernape lunged at Tyranitar with flaming fist and feet and swung at him with a left hook, with Tyranitar dodged, but was hit by a right kick. Tyranitar also struck back with blue, flaming claws sparking with red energy, which Infernape dodged. Left, right, punch, kick, this ensued for a short while at a fast speed barely visible to the naked eye. Finally, Tyranitar hit Infernape with a Dark Pulse, which knocked him back several feet, but the monkey was still standing. Aubram concentrated as sweat fell from his own neck.
"TYYYYYY!!!!" suddenly, Tyranitar's pupils disappeared, and steam propelled from the holes in his armor. He began launching Dark Pulse after Dark Pulse, launching several beam based attacks, and also stomped his feet on the ground. The tunnel shook as pebbles fell from the ceiling. Sam began crying.
"This is it! I knew that someday I'd die a horrible, painful death!" Tee looked at him with a stupefied face. Aubram also sweated, but Infernape looked at his master with confidence. Aubram looked at the enemy with a smile as well.
"Alright, we have one chance!" declared the man, "Infernape, go in for a Mach Thunder Flare Blitz Punch!" commanded Aubram. Sam and Tee looked at him like he was nuts.
"Are you nuts!? How can Infernape perform that many attacks at once!?" asked Tee. Aubram smiled as Infernape's body suddenly became enveloped in a blue flame, and his fist lit up in a red flame that crackled in thunder, while at the same time swirling with energy from Mach Punch. Aubram pointed his finger with a smirk on his face and yelled.
"Go for it Infernape!" Infernape launched for Tyranitar with blinding speed. The first Dark Pulse wave hit Infernape head on, but only made the blue flame dissipate as the pulse wave dissipated; the second wave hit, which Infernape broke through with a Thunder Punch. Tyranitar's Thrash ensued, making a Hyper Beam head straight for Infernape, which he dodged by jumping to the left, and when he launched another hit, Infernape ducked to the right. Tyranitar stomped his foot, sending an Earthquake through the tunnel.
"This is it!" yelled Tee.
"C'mon c'mon c'mon!" cheered Aubram. Infernape jumped in the air to avoid the hit, and flew at Tyranitar with a lighting fast Fire Punch, which combined with Mach punch to create a blue, swirling flame fist. Tyranitar, in one last effort, concentrated Dark type energy into his left claw, which was also charging with Dragon Claw, and swiped at Infernape, colliding fists with the monkey. Fire and shadows flew in all directions as the two collided. Suddenly, Tyranitar's armor cracked, shocking him, and causing an explosion from the raw energy being exerted by the two. As smoke filled the tunnels, the gang anxiously awaited who stood victor, but finally saw a bright light exerted from Infernape's head, and knew he had won. Infernape then stepped out of the smoke and gave a thumb up, signaling his victory.
"YAAAAAYYY!" cheered Sam, "We didn't die!" he fell backwards in the water in relaxation.
"You're lying in sewage water," corrected Tee, making Sam jump up. Aubram ran to Infernape, but the monkey collapsed into his arms as he approached.
"Great job buddy!" cheered Aubram. Infernape grinned before returning to his ball in a flaming aura. Tee then grabbed another Breaker Ball from his jacket and flung it at Tyranitar, which made a black energy as it shined through the ball. Tee snickered.
"I can't believe they work so well!" celebrated the man.
"I can't believe we captured half of Dade's team!" said Sam in disbelief.
"I think we'd better try to find another way around," commented Aubram, looking at the rubble around them and the wall of earth blocking the path. Sam looked at it as well.
"That's right, Van got past! He might be able to catch him!" declared Sam. Tee nodded, and the gang walked back in the direction they came from.
Meanwhile, Van pressed on, right on Dade's tail. Dade looked back with a smirk on his face, which made Van mad. He then released a Pokémon from a belt on his belt that burst in a blue light, forming blue, two legged canine we're all familiar with, Lucario, who then lit a cigarette and inhaled. Dade looked back and started running backwards.
"Don't you think that's unhealthy?" asked the man. Van sarcastically grinned.
"I honestly don't know where he gets them," replied the blonde. A light could be seen from the end of the tunnel, making Dade stop as they neared the end of the sewer. The water poured out of a side of a cliff into a gutter, which stuck out of the ocean water and poured back into the island. Apparently, so much time had passed from the entrance into the sewers and now that the sun was already out. Van finally stopped and stared down Dade. "It's over! Give up!" demanded Van. Dade chuckled, but looked at the time on his clock. He had only thirty minutes left to get the package to the client, which made him sweat. He returned his Manectric to a great ball, which went in in a lightning bolt, and pressed another Pokeball.
"I wish I could stick around, but I've got a date to attend to," replied Dade, as he released another large Pokémon to the field, who appeared in a dusty light. The monster looked like a rat-like dinosaur with purple skin, large ears, and a long horn. "Nidoking, I trust this to you," spoke the man.
"Nido!" replied Nidoking. Van growled.
"Oh no you don't!" yelled the blonde as he and Lucario charged towards Dade, but couldn't stop him from jumping off the cliff. However, Van was shocked to see Dade riding a large, moth-like Pokémon with blue eyes and six red wings. It was a Volcarona, an extremely rare and Powerful Pokémon. Van started to reach for Crobat's ball, but knew he wouldn't last too long against something like that, type advantage or not, on his own.
"Hey, Vandal Buster! I'll be back for my comrades, just you wait!" yelled Dade, as he took off. Van growled as Nidoking roared.
"KKKKKIIIIIIIINNNNNNGGGGG!!!!" Van squeezed his eyes in anger, which channeled to Lucario.
"Argh! Lucario, use Aura Sphere!" yelled Van. Lucario scoffed as he charged a ball of pure, blue energy. Nidoking then charged at Lucario with a flaming fist, which made him dodge and lose concentration, angering Lucario.
"CAR!"
"Don't lose your cool man! Just charge at him with an Ice Punch!" yelled Van. Lucario then held his left wrist with his right hand and concentrated cold energy into it until frost began to envelope it. Nidoking then stomped the ground, making the ground shake. Lucario jumped high into the air and swung his fist at Nidoking, whose face froze on contact. However, that was short lived, as Nidoking unfroze himself when he released a Fire Blast from his mouth, sending Lucario to the wall. Van looked at Nidoking with a serious face.
"Well, he isn't Dade's signature Pokémon for nothing I guess," thought Van, "Nidoking tend to know many attacks outside their type range, and that spells trouble for Lucario if he gets hit my a fire, ground, or fighting type moves." Lucario got up, looked at the burnt cigarette in his mouth, which was burnt to the bud, and got steamed.
"LUUUUUUU!!!!" he was mad because he didn't get to finish that one, so he did something frightening: he spat it out and mashed it. Van saw this and widened his eyes.
"Oh Arceus, what has Nidoking done!?" panicked Van. He began to raise a finger, but before he could, Lucario lunged at Nidoking and began a Close Combat beat down! Nidoking blocked a kick and punched Lucario with a Brick Break right in the stomach, but hatred still flowed through Lucario's eyes. His foot lit on fire as he kicked the behemoth square in the jaw, sending him flying towards the back of the tunnel. Van looked at his Pokémon with fear in his eyes, but regained a serious face. "Lucario, I know you're mad," Lucario looked at Van with hatred, "but you can feel how I feel right now! I need you to help me do this!" Lucario stared into his master's eyes, but finally scoffed and widened his stance. Van smirked. "Alright, let's get this guy good! Try channeling all of that Ice type energy into your feet and palms!" commanded Van.
"Carrrrrr," Lucario's fists and feet began to freeze and emit frost as he concentrated, but finally lunged at Nidoking, who fired several Fire Blasts at him. Lucario dodged the blasts with ninja like moves, ducking, rolling, jumping, it didn't matter; Lucario dodged them all! He finally struck a blow at Nidoking's face with a right hook, followed by a left kick, a right kick, a left punch, and several other melee barrage attacks. Nidoking had several frozen areas, extending from the legs up to his right arm. Nidoking may have looked helpless, but he fired a Fire Blast right at Lucario's belly, sending him flying towards the edge. Van ran to catch him, but just barely made it. They looked at Nidoking from afar and saw a bright light forming in his mouth. He was going to fire a Hyper Beam straight at them! If it hit, then they would fall from the cliff.
"Dammit! This doesn't look good. Maybe I should swap out…" spoke Van, but Lucario slapped his hand away from his belt as he struggled to get up. He looked at his master with a grin, which made Van grin as well. "How stupid of me, you've still got some fight in ya, huh?" asked Van. Lucario nodded in agreement. "Alright," began Van as he stood up, "We need a quick and powerful Aura Storm, think you can do that?" asked the man. Lucario looked at his master with a smirk.
"Car!"
"Alright then!" Lucario widened his stance and prepared an orb of energy in his palms that progressively grew bigger with each second. Lucario's eyes turned into a bright blue as he charged and charged, while Nidoking charged as well. Finally, Nidoking launched his Hyper Beam, sending an orange wave of energy flying straight at Van and Lucario. "Now! Fire!" yelled Van. Lucario roared.
"CAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRR!!!!" The canine launched its attack, sending a powerful beam of pure aura energy colliding with Hyper Beam. As the two powers struggled, Lucario desperately tries to keep his concentration, until he fires a pulse through the beam, sending the wave straight at Nidoking.
"KINNNNNGGGG!" yelled the Pokémon as he flew through the tunnel, passed Aubram and Sam up by a hair. Tee saw it and threw a breaker ball right at Nidoking, capturing the Pokémon in a purple aura, and releasing the beam through the sewer tunnels. "Yeesh! What the hell was that?!" yelled Sam. Aubram looked forward and saw Van petting Lucario, who was tolerating it.
"Van!" yelled the boy. Our blonde headed hero looked to see his friends on the scene, but looked back at Lucario with its ball in hand.
"Thanks for the help, buddy," thanked Van. Lucario scoffed as he returned to the ball in a bright blue light. Afterwards Van's face turned into that of disappointment. "We let him get away." Tee looked at him with a grin.
"I doubt that's the last time we'll see him, Van," replied Tee, holding the four captured Pokémon in his hands. Van then flashed back to Dade's message of return, which cheered him up, but also let him down.
"That may be, but he was just toying with us to buy time," replied Van, "If he really wanted to, he could've already defeated us easily." Aubram looked at him with confusion.
"What are you talking about!? We defeated four of his Pokémon without losing one team member!" retaliated Aubram. Van shook his head.
"As I said, they were buying time. They weren't fighting at their fullest!" Sam looked at him in anger.
"Just how the hell do you know all of this?" asked the red head.
"Because I fought him once!" replied Van. The others jumped. "It was a long time ago, while I was still in Unova, but he still wiped me out, all with one Pokémon!" Van pointed at the purple energy infused ball, "It was that Nidoking!" Tee looked puzzled, but after a few minutes of silence, he finally broke the ice.
"Let's go back home and think this over," said the man. Aubram nodded.
"Yeah, Kayla's probably worried sick about us!" he then looked at Samuel, "And she still has your hat Ginger." Sam felt the top of his head, and realizing his hat was gone, freaked out.
"AH!! But I don't remember giving it to her!" He then ran down the tunnel at top speed. Aubram shook his head.
"He's gonna get lost again," spoke Aubram, as he and Tee proceeded. Van stood up and slowly followed the others down the dark tunnel. However, as they reached deeper in the direction they came, it became darker and darker, much like the confidence Van had in himself.
"Why did all of this have to happen…"

| Episode 5 - Spoiler:
Episode 5
A few days later, Tee, Aubram, and Sam lie in their living room, while Sam's Glaceon, Aubram's Umbreon, and Tee's Mightyena lie on the floor. The room had a blue wall and a blue carpet, along with other things that make it look just like an ordinary house. The gang sat there, watching T.V., Sam with vanilla ice-cream on a stick in his mouth.
"Wonder how long he's gonna pout?" asked Tee. Van hadn't left his room since he came home those past three days ago, and wouldn't let anyone in either. The others began to worry about him, as he never even came out to eat, or even speak to the others.
"Well, this is the first time a 'perp' got away," replied Sam, "We all acted the same way the first time it happened to us." Aubram smiled.
"Well, he did last waaaaaaaay longer than the rest of us though," replied Aubram, "I was the first one to lose a perp, and I kept losing them for the rest of the week!" Aubram began to laugh like it was nothing, while Umbreon looked at him like he was a moron.
"Umb….."
"Yeah, and we had to clean up your mess!" replied Sam with an annoyed face.
"And then you lost two of them," replied Tee with a condescending smile. Sam looked at him with an eyebrow raised.
"Yeah, and if I recall, Van had to catch that last guy you let get away," retaliated Sam. Glaceon yawned, which was apparently contagious, as Mightyena yawned as well. Suddenly, the door knocked three times, which was ignored at first. "Anybody order a pizza or something?"
Knock knock knock.
"Nah, just ignore them, probably just a salesman," replied Tee.
Knock knock knock.
"I dunno, what if Van ordered it or somethin'? He hasn't eaten in a few days, so maybe…"
Knock knock knock.
"Hellooooo~…." spoke a voice behind the door, "Is anybody home?" Aubram got up to answer it, revealing Kayla, Frecesta, and as a shock, Kasey.
"Hello again!" greeted the Ukiland region girl, who greeted in a bow. Kasey simply tilted her head with a smile.
"I'm sorry for intruding, but my sister hasn't seen her 'brothers' for a while, and got worried," explained Kasey. Aubram smiled, which seemed to make them smile as well.
"Well please, would you ladies come on in?" asked Aubram. Sam and Tee looked up to see Kayla smiling and jumping.
"Oh I've missed you guys soo much!" yelled the girl, who hugged them both.
"Can't……breath….." faintly spoke Tee, twitching his fingers. Kayla looked at Sam for a few minutes without a word.
"Oh!" the girl finally remembered, and reached into her purse strapped around her waist. She then grabbed Sam's white and black cap, which made his eyes shine, "I forgot to give this to you! I kept it safe and sound!" Sam hugged her.
"THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!" cheered the boy, who ran up to his room, and quickly ran back down.
"What'd you do with it?" asked Frecesta.
"I put it away in a safe place! I seem to be losing it too much, so I need to keep it in a safe place," answered Sam in a happy face. Kasey looked around the apartment with her hands at her front in a mannerly position, and smiled.
"I really like your living quarters," complimented the girl. Aubram blushed and wiggled in appreciated.
"Really? I was the one who picked the color!" answered Aubram. Sam chopped his head.
"Dude, that's just annoying." Aubram stood back up to brush himself off, while keeping a wide grin. Kayla looked around the apartment, but seemed confused.
"I'm confuzzled, where's Van?" asked the girl.
"I wouldn't get my hopes up if I were you," began Tee. Kayla, who was holding Umbreon much like a young girl would hold a cat, tilted her head in confusion. "He's been locked up in his room for three days, and hasn't come out since." Frecesta stopped petting Mightyena and Glaceon upon the news. Kasey actually stopped smiling for once.
After a few minutes explaining the situation, the girls seemed to understand the situation better, but still couldn't help but feel sympathetic, except for Kasey, who crossed her arms in a disappointed manner.
"So, he's just giving up like that?" asked Kasey, "Just who was this person anyway?"
"Oh yeah! Maybe you'd know him. He said his name was," before Sam could finish, Kasey seemed to have been reading his lips like a book, "Dade Cruise." She closed her eyes and nodded, and walked up the stairs.
"Hold up! He wouldn't even let us in there!" yelled Aubram. The others looked at her as if she was crazy. As she came up to the door, she knocked on it.
"Go away," replied Van from the inside.
"Van, it's me, Kasey, please let me in," replied the girl. There was a long silence on the other end, but Kasey didn't budge. Finally, Van opened the door to let her in, much to everyone's surprise. She walked into the room, which was a standard size room with blue walls, a laptop, a TV, a closet, and a bed with messed up, white sheets. Van looked terrible. He had bags under his eyes, a stubble beard growing, and his shirt was messed up. He wasn't wearing his jacket or shoes, and looked too ordinary.
"Yeah? You needed something Kasey?" asked Van. Kasey closed the door and sat down in a standard office chair with five wheels.
"What's wrong Van?" asked the girl, "I never would've thought that you'd be the same guy my sister brags about all the time when she comes home at night, especially with this attitude." Van looked down in shame.
"It's not the reason that the others claim it is," began Van, "I'm not that shallow to just wallow over my first lost perp." Kayla looked at him stern in the eye.
"But you're the type to feel sorry for yourself for losing a particular person in general?" asked the girl. Van looked up, but hadn't realized until now that she had moved the chair until she was sitting right in front of his face while he sat on his bed. He blushed a little, but kept calm.
"That's….." Van struggled to keep himself together.
"You knew him once, didn't you?" asked Kasey. Van nodded. "Tell me, tell me how one meeting can have as huge an impact as it has on you." Van closed his eyes.
"Well, about three years ago, back when I was still a new trainer. I had just gotten my fourth Unovan Badge…"
"… I was feeling pretty confident in myself. I was fifteen, out on my own in the world, avoiding cops along the way, eh, don't ask, and I had already captured four Pokémon. One was my obvious starter, Oshawott. After my second gym battle, he evolved from his former goofy self to a more cocky form known as Dewott. After some traveling, I managed to capture a Woobat, which I evolved into a Swoobat with friendship. Then I found a Cottonee that I evolved into a funny Whimsicott with a Sun Stone. And finally, before coming to Nimbasa, I captured a Sandile which I evolved into a Crocoroc with an epic attitude. This was my team at the time, and due to the inexperience of trainers I met until then, minus Sam, Aubram, and Tee, I was undefeatable. Of course, this has nothing to do with the story." "No, no, go ahead Van, It's good to hear details," spoke Kasey. "Alright then. I was leaving Nimbasa to head straight for Driftveil City. The sky was pretty nice, and only had a few cloud in it. It was summer, so I had to wear a t-shirt instead of my normal shirt. For some reason though, there were cops everywhere, even on the drawbridge, so I couldn't go across. I had to go around the bridge instead. I walked through the forest edge, being sure not to fall into the river along the way, when I saw some guy with black hair eating something. That was Dade. He wasn't wearing that coat he usually does, and I assume he was just a normal trainer then. I saw him eating, and that made my stomach growl, almost as loud as a Hydreigon's. This made me check my bag, which had no food, and then I checked my wallet, which only had enough to by an Antidote. So, like most trainers, I decided to challenge him.
"Hey you!" I yelled, "I challenge you to a battle!"
"Of course, as with most people that hear the word 'you', he looked at me, but he ignored me. So I yelled again."
"Beat it Greenhorn." He says.
"Of course, this was damage to my pride, but I didn't give up. I argued with him about trainer etiquette, that when Trainers lock eyes, which ours did, we had to battle. Finally, he had had it and stood up. I was smiling, I was stupidly cocky from not losing a battle since my second gym battle."
"Is three on three okay with you?" asked Dade.
"I sorta panicked. I had only four Pokémon, but, like I said, I was cocky."
"You bet!"
"The first Pokémon Dade sent out was his signature battling Pokémon, Nidoking. At the time, the only outsider Pokémon I ever saw was Aubram's Chimchar, so I tried looking it up in the Pokedex."
"What the heck is that thing!? It's not anywhere in the Pokedex!"
"Dade started to laugh, which irritated me more."
"You mean it's not in the Unova Pokedex."
"I was confused, but I didn't care. I let out my Whimsicott, as I thought that Nidoking might be a ground type and part fighting. I had a plan you see.
"Alright Whimsicott! Use Hurricane to wipe that thing out!"
"Well, she did as told and sent winds reaching 50mph at Nidoking. I was excited, and I was expecting a quick win, but neither Dade nor Nidoking budged an inch.
"Please don't tell me that's the extent to that thing's power."
"Needless to say, I was shocked."
"Let's end this with Poison Sting."
"Looking back, that was Nidoking's weakest attack possible, as he only spat out a thin needle out of his mouth and that was enough to knock her out. Needless to say, I called her back, but Dade gave me the weirdest look. I ignored it and sent out Crocoroc, as I took a guess that Nidoking was really part poison. Hehe, Crocoroc looked so silly, flexing his muscles like that."
"Croooooooooocccc!"
"He almost sounded like those old rock stars."
"Um, Van, could you please concentrate?" asked Kasey.
"Oh, right, sorry. Anyway, Dade nodded for some reason.
"Good choice. Nidoking's a poison type, so ground should be pretty obvious."
"I don't need your help!"
"I was insulted, and I let it get to me too easily.
"Alright Croc! Let's use Dig!"
"He did as told and went underground, but Dade never missed a beat.
"Now use Earthquake."
"The ground shook like an actual quake, I fell over on my back, and Crocoroc came flying out of the ground like he was launched by a catapult. I called him back, again making that eyebrow rise, and decided to call out the big guns. I had the assumption together that Nidoking was a Poison and a Ground type. I was on track, so I called out my most powerful Pokémon.
"Let's go Dewott!"
"Back then, Dewott was pretty cocky, but he took battling seriously. He took his shells and got ready for battle, like always. Dade nodded again in approval, but I hated that."
"Alright Dewott, use Retaliate!"
"Dade grinned widely."
"Yeah! Now we're getting serious!"
"He told Nidoking to use Earthquake, but I made Dewott use Detect, so he avoided it and got Nidoking aside the face. After that, he fired a Fire Blast, but Dewott avoided it again and slashed his shell in the air, a move called Air Slash, and got dirt in Nidoking's eyes. After that, Dewott bounced off a tree and used Razor Shell, which also hit him good. The battle was going waaaaay better than the other two. Nidoking would fire off several attacks, and Dewott would Detect them and launch some of his own. I actually thought I was winning, oh how stupid I was.
"Sorry kid, this is fun and all, but I've gotta end this. Nidoking, use Shockwave."
"Nidoking roared, which somehow launched a shockwave of electricity from his mouth. Long story short, Dewott couldn't avoid it, and got shocked. He was knocked out instantly. I was shocked, needless to say. But Dade didn't rub it in or anything. Instead, he invited me to eat lunch with him. He even healed my Pokémon with items I had never even seen before: Sacred Ash, Max Elixir, and even a few vitamins. I was still a little sore from losing, but that didn't stop him from joking.
"So, Vandal, did you learn something from our little battle?"
"Vandal, I hated that name. It did fit though. On the run from home and the cops, it fit all the way to the letter V. I didn't understand his question though. Thankfully, he explained, which stuck with me until today."
"Well, one, thank your partners. Think about it like this: would you keep a job if nobody congratulated you? And another thing is that you over train Dewott and don't save enough time to train your other team mates."
"He kept going on and on, and I was listening. At first, I kinda shrugged it off, but he eventually got my attention. Every life is precious, don't be afraid to rely on others, he shared so much with me that day. Heck, he even guessed I was a runaway. I was so amazed…"
Van suddenly snapped back to reality.
"When I saw him doing what he was doing three days ago, I was shocked. I began questioning everything he taught me, as he just threw all that away," said a solemn Van. Kasey looked at him with concern. "Heck, no offense, but every time I saw a battle between you two, I secretly wanted Dade to win. I admired how he never gave up; he was like a big brother in a way. But now that he's done this, maybe it's time I…" Van was interrupted by a slap to the face by Kasey. He looked up to see the girl looking at him with anger in her eyes, which was very rare.
"Don't you dare give me that!" yelled the girl. Van's eyes widened with fear and shock, "You say it had that big of an impact on your life, and it made you into the person you are today!" Van looked at her in admiration, "So, if it works, why fix it!? Do you know something funny? Kayla's only known you for maybe a week or so now, but everyday she comes home with stories of how cool you looked, how unbreakable you were. She said that there's a reason 'Van rhymes with Can, not Can't'!" yelled Kasey, who got Van's attention.
"But even if I did keep those in mind, how could I…" Kasey slapped him again.
"In case you forgot, from the story you just told me, you're older and wiser now. Don't demean your friends either, they did splendid as well! If you just put your mind and heart to it, then you can win, and maybe get some sense through to Dade," replied Kasey. Van was paying attention like he had never listened before. "So, I must ask you, will you sit here and mourn for your 'fallen idol', or will you stand up for those who look up to you?" asked the girl, pointing at Van. He took a few minutes, but he eventually stood up and walked to the bathroom in his room. From behind the door, a buzzing noise could be heard, and after a few minutes, it ceased. He walked out with a clean shave, put on his shoes, slipped on his jacket, and put on his belt with his Pokémon in them.
"I choose the second option," replied Van, with a smirk on his face. He looked ten times better that he did a few minutes ago, though he did still have bags under his eyes, which irked Kasey.
"Just one thing…." said the girl, who sat Van down in his bed. She then pressed a button on a Pokeball, which then allowed a pulse of purple energy to hit Van. He was shocked at first, but slowly fell asleep. She kissed her ball on top of the button, "Thank you Xatu." and after that, kissed Van's forehead, "And thank you, Van, Kayla does need someone like you."
Kasey came out of the room, which was surrounded by eavesdroppers. The boys sweated nervously, but Kasey smiled in that special way that made others smile.
"He'll be fine now. He does need to sleep a while, however," spoke the girl, who walked down the steps. The eavesdroppers looked inside to see Van lying asleep in his bed. After being sure that he was asleep, the gang closed his door and walked down the stairs.
"So, how is he now?" asked Sam. Kasey smiled.
"I said he was fine now," answered the girl. Sam tried not to get mad the best he could. Tee couldn't hold it in though.
"Well, what do you mean by fine? Is he still moping or…" Kasey again smiled.
"No, he's back to normal."
"Really!?" asked Aubram, excitedly. Kasey nodded. The gang acted like they were going to jump, but instead jumped back into their seats, resuming what they were doing before. Frecesta was shocked, but Kayla smiled.
At the same time, elsewhere, in a strange, dark chamber, eleven seats are filled with mysterious people, whose faces are hidden by strange masks that ranged from all sorts of shapes that were based on Pokémon. They are all silent as Dade walks into the center of the room, staring at the man in the middle seat. His mask, shaped like that of Mewtwo, minus the facial color and with the addition of an "XI", retained its mysteriousness.
"Dade, so good of you to come…" said the man. Dade kept his calm.
"Have you kept your promise?" asked Dade.
"In time, Dade, in time. I have just one last task for you, and I promise you, it will be quite easy, and if you do it, we will set them free," answered the man. Dade thought for a moment, but looked back up.
"And? What would that be?" asked Dade, with his hands in his pockets. The man then threw him a black Pokeball that seemed to swirl from top to bottom. It was divided by a thin, gray line, and had a red button on the top.
"An experiment. We just need to see how this Pokémon will react in battle, nothing more, win or lose," said the man. Dade looked at it strangely, almost trying to figure out what it was. "Of course, I will expect you to use its abilities well. That is why I have entrusted this prototype to you first."
"And then you'll free them?" asked Dade. The man then bit his thumb until blood appeared.
"You have my word on my own blood that I will." With that, Dade turned around and walked to the door.
"Good, I have a particular target in mind…"
Several hours later, Van finally awakens in his bed and looks out the window. It was cloudy, foreshadowing a coming rain, which made him nervous. He looked at his C-gear, and found that it was seven in the evening. He looked on his C-gear on his wrist and found a message on it.
"What the?" Van opened it, and found that it was from Dade. The message summoned for a three on three battle at the top of King's Building, the tallest building in all of Dorado City, as well as the tallest of all the islands that make up Trainer Turf. Van was to come at whatever time he wanted, but to be prepared. "That's odd, why three on three?" asked Van, "We have four of his Pokémon….maybe he's just being cocky." Van then got up and walked out of his bedroom, noticing his friends on the couch.
"Hey, you better now?" asked Sam. Van nodded.
"Better than ever," replied Van with a grin.
"So, where'ya going now?" asked Aubram, flipping the channel remote.
"Out to battle Dade," answered Van.
"Have fun," replied Tee with a normal voice.
"I'll try," answered the blonde as he walked out the door. As he walked out, the gang realized what he just said and jumped from surprise to the door to try and catch Van. However, just as they ran out, Van had already warped out, to where they had no idea. With that, Tee looked at Sam with disappointment.
"Nice going Sam.
"What the hell did I do!?" asked the ginger in anger.
Van appeared in the central plaza district, which was surrounded by people, shops, and tall buildings. In the middle of the plaza was a water fountain with a Togetic statue in the middle. On the monitors, commercials could be seen, ranging from drink products to coliseum projects. On another monitor, the winner of a battle could already be seen, a blonde Trainer by the name of Drakkon, winning with a Chandelure by the name of Karmine. As Van walked into the building, the sky seemed to rumble in fear. Van entered the room, which was filled with men and women dressed in business like attire. The room looked as if it was made of pure gold, but Van didn't stop to see the scenery, and instead just walked to the glass pod-shaped elevator and got in, afterwards pressing the number seventy-two, the highest number on the list. Afterwards, the pod closed and shot up. As it passed, Van was scanned by red lights and was shined upon by blue and green lights. Finally, after several minutes, Van finally arrived to the seventy-second floor and stepped out. He walked out, and found that he was on the roof top of this gigantic structure, looming over Silver City. There waiting for him was Dade, standing with his hands in his pockets. He grinned as Van stepped out.
"Bout time you got here, Vandal Buster," spoke Dade, "I assume you brought them here with you?" Van opened his jacket, revealing the four spheres of energy on the inside of his right jacket flap.
"Let's make a bet," replied Van, "If you win, I'll give these back to you, and I won't interfere with your business anymore," said Van with a serious face. Dade raised an eyebrow.
"And if you win?"
"One, you'll turn yourself in, and two, you'll tell me who you're working for." Dade seemed surprised, but nodded.
"Fine, but hows about an added bonus: I'll join your little brigade!" laughed Dade sarcastically. Van raised an eyebrow and grabbed a Pokeball from his belt.
"You're pretty confident, aren't you?"
"You do know who you're fighting here, right?" asked Dade with a sarcastic voice.
"Yeah, I do," began Van with a serious voice, "But I bet you don't even remember me at all." Dade raised an eyebrow in confusion.
"We've met before?" asked the man. He grabbed a Great Ball from his waist.
"Never mind then. That'll be your bonus for winning," answered Van. The two then threw both of their Pokeballs into the air. From Van's Pokeball came, in a ball of fire, red and yellow furred Pokémon who stretched her body.
"Flaaaaarrrreee…." purred Flareon. Out of Dade's ball came a bolt of lightning that formed a black and yellow furred canine Pokémon.
"Manec!" barked Manectric. The two trainers faced each other off, and with the crack of thunder, the two began the battle.
"Manectric, use Discharge!" yelled Dade. Manectric got into attack position and launched an electric wave from his body.
"Flareon! Detect!" yelled Van. Flareon then jumped out of range from the attack, "Now use Heat Wave!"
"Flare!" Flareon then launched a blast of hot air from its mouth that was so hot, it melted a radio antenna on the roof. Manectric survived through it though, but just barely.
"Volt Charge!" yelled Dade. Manectric's body then enveloped in blue electricity, which he then charged at Flareon. Flareon tried to use Detect, but it failed, and Manectric was faster, so it hit head on, sending the poor creature flying. Van sweated a little, while Dade grinned. Van then envisioned the building layout in his head, and got an idea.
"Flareon, use Dig!" yelled Van. Dade jumped, but when Flareon did as told, dirt came up. Van grinned, "HA! I knew it! This entire island is a giant coliseum! Every building can be used to battle!" yelled the boy, clenching his fists. Dade looked around the field, but couldn't see any sign of the Fire Pokémon. Suddenly, out of the concrete came Flareon, right behind Manectric. Van pointed epically, "Now, SUPERPOWER!" yelled the blonde. Flareon then slammed its tail at Manectric, hitting it with a mighty force strong enough to smash it into the wall behind Van, leaving cracks from the impact. It was clear that Manectric was down. Dade then pointed Manectric's ball at him, making the canine Pokémon return to him in a bolt of lightning. He then grabbed an Ultra ball from his waist and threw it high into the air, releasing, in a ball of fire and glowing scales, a moth Pokémon.
"Volllll…." buzzed Volcarona. Van sweated a little, but had faith in his Pokémon.
"Okay Flareon, use Dig!" yelled Van. Flareon then burrowed its way underground, disappearing from the enemy's view. Dade smirked.
"You actually think the same trick'll work twice?" asked the man. Van shrugged.
"Meh, why not?" asked Van sarcastically. Dade grinned as Flareon jumped out of the ground.
"Hurricane!" yelled Dade. Volcarona turned around and buzzed its wings, making a strong wind appear out of nowhere. Flareon was stopped in midair, but was being forced in the other direction. Van gritted his teeth.
"Flareon, can you use a Heat Wave and Flame Charge Combo!?" asked the boy frantically.
"Flare!" barked Flareon, as she summoned a powerful fire from her mouth that enveloped her body. The charge was counteracting the wind! Dade jumped in surprise, but regained his cool.
"Bug Buzz," calmly spoke Dade. Volcarona then began beating its wings almost until they weren't visible at all! The vibrations made green pulses fuse with the wind, making Flareon have difficulties.
"Flare, just a little more!" yelled Van. Flareon opened her eyes and increased her speed twofold, actually piercing the Hurricane and hitting Volcarona head on! However, it didn't do too much due to Volcarona being part Fire type. Flareon landed back on her feet in front of Van, but was hyperventilating from the exhaustion of using those two moves together. Dade then grinned.
"Time to stop playing around. Volcarona, use Psychic to put it out of its misery," spoke Dade. Without a word, Volcarona's eyes turned a bright purple. Flareon's eyes widened and turned black, and finally the Pokémon collapsed. Van ran over to her, but noticed she was still breathing. Dade ginned, but Van looked up. He then returned Flareon to her ball and pulled out a Pokeball from his pocket.
"I'm not playing around anymore!" yelled Van, who threw the ball high into the air. The ball released a torrent of water and bubbles, and finally revealed the armored Pokémon, Samurott.
"ROOOOOOTTTTT!!!" yelled Samurott. Dade raised a brow.
"Huh, from the battles I saw you in, I always assumed that Samurott was your last straw," commented Dade. Van growled.
"I could say the same thing about you and Volcarona," replied the boy. He then pointed his finger, "Samurott, use Razor Shell!" yelled Van.
"Rooooottttt!!!!" Samurott's horn became surrounded by water until a large blade of water was visible. Samurott then charged at Volcarona with amazing speed for his size. Dade jumped and pointed.
"Volcarona, dodge and use Bug Buzz!" yelled Dade.
"Vullllll…" buzzed the moth Pokémon, who hovered out of the way. Volcarona then beat its wings until they weren't visible anymore, creating green pulses of energy that buzzed right at Samurott, catching him off guard and making his ears hurt.
"Samurott, use Ice Beam!" yelled Van. Samurott's eyes opened and began to glow a bright blue; afterwards he fired a blue stream of energy from his mouth that made contact with one of Volcarona's wings, temporarily stopping the buzzing noise and allowing Samurott to get out of the target area. However, the frozen wing quickly defrosted from Volcarona's body temperature. Van and Samurott glared at the enemies before them, as they glared back.
"Not bad, Vandal Buster," spoke Dade. He pointed his finger at Samurott, "Okay, let's wipe these guys out with Hurricane!" yelled Dade. Volcarona's wings began to vibrate at massive speeds again, producing strong winds. Van looked at his opponent while trying to keep the wind out of his eyes with his arms.
"Samurott, think you can counteract it with Copycat!?" yelled Van, struggling to get his words through the wind. Samurott looked at his opponents wings, and closed his eyes. As he did, his horn retracted into the shell on his head, and suddenly a gale force wind erupted from the shell! The winds collided until they spread out to the entire field. Both the Pokémon struggled to keep their footing, until Dade managed to get his voice heard.
"Volcarona, use Heat Wave!" yelled Dade. Volcarona's wings then began to produce fire until the Hurricane winds carried it into a tornado surrounding the field. Van sweated from the heat, while Samurott was being burned.
"Samurott, try to use Surf!" yelled Van. Samurott then released water from his shell, which also was carried in the gale force winds. The fire and water collided to create steam and smoke, which blinded the field. After a long period of waiting, the smoke and steam finally dissipated into the air, leaving the two titans still standing. Van and Dade glared at each other.
"Use Hyper Beam!" yelled Dade. Volcarona fired a beam of black energy at Samurott.
"Counter it with Giga Impact!" reacted Van. Samurott's body became engulfed in a pink and yellow, flame like energy that swirled from his horn, which was followed by it charging at the beam. Van held his breath as his partner slowly forced his way through the blast, surprising Dade.
"Dammit!" yelled Dade. Samurott managed to pierce all the way through the blast, but couldn't last long enough to get to Volcarona. Van sweated a little, but was heavily surprised when Samurott looked at his master with a smile.
"Can you keep going!?" asked Van frantically. Samurott then released a torrent of water from his mouth at the recharging Volcarona. Dade gritted his teeth.
"What the hell!?" asked Dade. Van smirked, but stopped when Volcarona got back up. "Let's end this! Use Sunny Day!" yelled Dade. Volcarona launched an orb of energy into the air, which glowed bright like the sun, however not replacing the actual sun. Van looked at it with a raised brow, but widened his eyes when he realized it. "Now, use Solar Beam!" yelled Dade, pointing his finger. Volcarona fired a beam of pure light at Samurott.
"Detect!" yelled Van as fast as he could. Samurott barely rolled out of the way in time, but Dade wasn't fazed.
"With Sunny Day, it doesn't matter if you can dodge it. Solar Beam doesn't need a charge anymore," spoke Dade. Volcarona fired another shot, this time hitting Samurott square in the chest and knocking him down. Van was scared, but relieved when his partner got back up. Volcarona fired another shot at Samurott.
"Detect again!" yelled Van. Samurott managed to dodge it again, but was severely tired. Van looked at the orb in the sky, and saw Volcarona. He grinned as he snapped his fingers. "Samurott, think you can use Rain Dance?" asked Van. Dade jumped.
"Use Solar Beam before he gets the chance!" yelled Dade, but was interrupted by Samurott summoning a downpour of rain with a howl. As Volcarona fired, he was forced to retract his attack and charge. Dade became enraged. "Dammit! Cancel that attack!" commanded Dade. Volcarona ceased, but was shocked to see Samurott get back up. His legs became surrounded by a torrent of water, and his eyes began to glow a bright blue. Dade panicked at the sight. "Quick Volcarona, use Hurricane!" yelled Dade. Hurricane was launched with a force that was much greater than before, and was making Samurott lose his footing.
"Samurott, use Blizzard!" yelled Van.
"Rooooootttttt!!!" cried Samurott as he fired a wave of snow from his mouth, however the blizzard was redirected by the gale force winds, which made Van smile.
"Now use Razor Shell!" yelled Van. Suddenly, due to Samurott's Torrent ability, the armor on Samurott's body rotated from his legs and attached to his horn, creating a massive blade surrounded by water.
"ROOOOOOOOOOOTTTTT!!!!" Samurott charged through the icy winds on a wave of water, no doubt thanks to the boost from Torrent, which shocked Dade.
"He's just going to get frozen you idiot!" yelled Dade. Van grinned as his coat waved in the wind. Through the storm came Samurott with a massive blade of ice on his forehead, which shocked Dade. "Melt that thing before it reaches us!" yelled Dade. Volcarona fired a Heat Wave from his mouth, ultimately melting the giant blade of Ice. However, the water formed an even bigger blade, until the ice was no more.
"NOW SAMUROTT! ULTIMATE RAZOR SHELL!" yelled Van.
"ROOOOOOTTTTTT!" yelled Samurott, synchronizing his own roar with Van's command. Samurott slashed the gigantic blade at Volcarona, which made steam as the water collided with Volcarona's body. Finally, Volcarona fell, out cold, and Samurott stood victorious. Dade was utterly shocked.
"What!? But how! We melted that thing!" yelled Dade. Van smirked, but was covered in frost from the gale blizzard.
"Exactly. I was counting on Torrent to kick in, so Samurott could power through that thing. On top of that, Rain Dance may make Hurricane an absolute hit, but it also strengthens water type moves. That's where its second boost comes from. Using Razor Shell as a breaking point to get through the blizzard wasn't an easy task, and my plan had a sixty by forty chance of working, forty being the part that succeeded. As he plowed through, he did have a slight side effect, that being the gigantic blade of ice," began Van, "However, that may have combined the powers of Razor Shell and Blizzard, but I still would've been short the amount of power that I needed to defeat Volcarona, due to it turning into an Ice type move. So, instead of getting into the Pokémon's psyche, I got into," Van pointed at Dade, "yours. You reacted like I thought you would, commanding Volcarona to melt it, thus returning it to Water type, and since Volcarona is part Fire type, that doubled its already overwhelming power, thus, the results of our makeshift plan." Dade was utterly shocked as he returned his moth Pokémon to his respectful ball. Van walked over and petted his exhausted Samurott. "Good job, Partner."
"Rott…" calmly purred Samurott. Dade shook in fear under his breath as he stared at the ground.
"Give up Dade, this is your last chance to turn yourself in," spoke Van in a serious tone. Dade then reached inside his pocket and grabbed that mysterious black ball with the red button. He pressed it, enlarging it in a spinning fashion.
"No. No. No! I refuse to lose!" yelled Dade as he held the ball high in the air. The ball opened, releasing many black and yellow pixels into the air, which shocked Van. The pixels kept climbing and climbing until they began to clump together. Van was shocked, as was Samurott, but Dade's eyes widened in awe. The pixels had finally clumped together to form a gigantic, black, snake like dragon Pokémon with glowing yellow stripes. The Pokémon reared its head back and let out an ear shattering cry.
"RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYY!!!!!!!"
"So this is the test subject! I knew they wanted me for a reason!" Dade began to laugh maniacally as thunder boomed in the sky. Van began to sweat in fear as his eyes widened in disbelief.
"Rayquaza!?"

Episode 6
The sky is blackened until not even a shred of sunlight remained. The people of town looked up at the black sky dragon in fear. Many screamed, many ran, many took photos, while other thought it might be the wrath of Arceus upon them. News teams had gathered to film from the grounds of King's Building, but none were brave enough to venture into the air. Meanwhile, the rest of the gang are trying their best to figure out where Van is in Central Plaza district.
"Look mate, I said that Van is in the Central Plaza district. What more do you want!?" asked moderator Jack Right in a New Whastralian (aka and Australian) accent, who was typing away in front of a monitor screen trying to pick up coordinates.
"Look harder! Van doesn't know what he's," began Sam, but was interrupted by Aubram in a yell.
"I think I might know where he is!" Sam looked at him oddly, but looked up the tall building to see the black dragon.
"Never mind, we found him," replied Sam.
"See!? I told you I was right, mate! Next time," Sam hung his phone up before Jack could finish.
"So, what happened!?" asked Tee, looking up in fear, "and what are we going to do about the townsfolk!?" Suddenly, five men who were wearing blue jumpsuits with smalls shoulder capes, as well as a strange "A" symbol on the suits appeared before them.
"Allow us to be of assistance to you, 'Troll Brigade'," spoke one of the men. Sam shook for a moment, but straightened up afterwards.
"Who are you guys?" asked the red head.
"We are scout troops of an organization seeking to bring peace to the world by any means," spoke the man next to the previous man, "If you would, please let us help you in your attempts to quell the people…" Aubram looked at them strangely.
"We have ten men total, and we are merely scout troops, so we cannot do much. However, I can assure you this will be an easy task if we were to join forces at the moment," spoke a third man. Tee looked at Sam and Aubram, who both shrugged.
"Okay, but what do we tell them?" asked Aubram.
"Simply this…"
Meanwhile, back on the building, Van stares this dragon directly in the face with fear, as well as Samurott. Dade stood before him, grinning widely with awe at the gigantic monster. Van was nervous, but swallowed his fear.
"Samurott, we need a freezing tidal wave, think you've got enough energy for that?" asked Van.
"Roooooootttt!" roared the Pokémon as he summoned a gigantic wave and blasted it with Blizzard. The wave grew to many times the size of a normal wave, but Dade still grinned.
"Rayquaza, use Thunder!" yelled Keel.
"RAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYY!!!!!!!" the Pokémon cried out as a detonating boom crack in the sky as a bolt of lightning struck Samurott before he could finish the attack, also canceling out his move. Samurott was unconscious.
"Hey! Samurott! You okay!?" asked Van frantically, trying desperately to wake his partner up. He was slightly relieved when Samurott returned into a blue bubble, his energy form, and returned to his ball, as this meant he wasn't dead. Van shook silently as he felt the pressure exerting from the demonic power before him.
"What's the matter Van!? Is that all you have!?" asked Dade, "You still have one last chance, though I doubt any of the Pokémon you have now would,"
"Shut up, jackass," interrupted Van. He then picked a random ball from his belt and pressed a button on his C-gear, sending it away to a PC. Dade raised an eyebrow to this. Van then reached into his t-shirt and pulled out a necklace, attached to it was an Ultra ball, which he enlarged by pressing the button. Van held the ball high into the air, "I thought I'd never have to use this," spoke Van. Suddenly, the ball exploded in a bright light that enveloped the city, and began spouting god-like fire that made the air around Van swirl about him. Dade looked in fear.
"What the!? What the hell is that thing!?" asked Dade. Van looked at him with unusual glowing blue eyes that almost had murderous intent.
"Protect this city, protect the light! I heed your call for this fight!" Van chanted, "RESHIRAM, I NEED YOU!" yelled Van. Suddenly, the fire formed a gigantic, white, feathered dragon with glowing blue eyes, a burning furnace like tail, and wings attached to its spanning arms.
"RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!" cried Reshiram. Dade was absolutely stunned, as he had never seen this, much less suspected that Van had a Pokémon of this magnitude. Van looked at Dade with an angry face.
"I never thought you'd be one to take handouts, but now you unleash something like that on the city!?" asked Van. Reshiram hovered down the side of the building, allowing Van to jump on his head. "If you want to continue this fight, we're taking to the skies!" Reshiram then blasted its way high into the sky by using his tail as a turbo boost. Dade then jumped on Rayquaza and followed them.
High into the skies flew the gigantic dragon Pokémon, one of pure white, and the other of pure black. The clouds above and below where darkened, and lightning crackled around them. Van's coat tail waved in the wind as he looked at Rayquaza's face.
"I know it's been a while, Reshiram, but think you can take this guy?" asked Van. Reshiram looked back at Van with his blue eyes, signaling a yes.
"We won't give you the chance Vandal!" yelled Dade, "Rayquaza, use Blizzard to drop them out of the skies!"
"RAYYY!" cried the sky dragon as he fired a blue orb of energy from his mouth that transformed into a gust of cold wind.
"Melt it with Fusion Flair!" yelled Van.
"RAAAAAAAA!!!!!" the yang Pokémon roared as he launched a gigantic ball of fire from his mouth. The ball seared through the wind and became a tornado, melting the Blizzard and hitting Rayquaza, knocking him back a bit.
"Draco Meteor!" yelled Dade. The sky dragon roared, summoning purple, lightning infused fire from above. Van looked at the projectiles, and realized that they could miss and hit the city.
"Reshiram, use Light Screen, fast!" panicked Van. Reshiram dove as fast as he could and summoned a shield of pure light, which blocked the flames as they buffered it. Van began to sweat from the pressure. "Reshiram, use Blue Flare!" yelled Van. Reshiram then fired a gigantic blue ball of fire at Rayquaza, which knocked him down a good bit before he straightened up. Van sweated, as he was afraid of falling off, or knocking Dade off. Suddenly, out of the clouds came the sky dragon in a burning dragon flame infused with lightning energy. He tackled Reshiram head on.
"How do you like our Outrage!?" yelled Dade. Reshiram tumbled in the air, making Van grit his teeth as he held on for dear life. Reshiram struggled, but straightened its wings back up and became steady again. Van opened his eyes and looked at Dade again, but noticed something odd about Rayquaza. Normally, as seen in the Pokedex, Rayquaza's stripes normally fade in and out, but the one in front of him kept his on at all times, and that he wouldn't move unless directed by Dade.
"Rayquaza, use Outrage!" yelled Dade. Rayquaza then charged at Reshiram with blue energy again. Van gritted his teeth and grabbed Reshiram's fur.
"Reshiram, our target's no longer Rayquaza!" yelled Van. Reshiram looked back at his partner with confusion, "Target Dade! We have to knock him down from Rayquaza's head!" yelled Van. Reshiram then moved out of the way of the oncoming attack.
"Grr…. Who do you think you're messing with!?" yelled Dade, sweating with anxiety.
"Now Reshiram, use Stone Edge!" yelled Van. With the power of his mind, Reshiram made several spear shaped objects made out of pure light, which he then launched at Rayquaza, who just floated in front of the target, making Dade mad.
"What're you standing there for you stupid dragon!? Dodge it!" yelled Dade. The dragon swiveled through the air; however, it was still hit by a few shards of light, knocking it down. However, Dade held on the the right horn, saving him from falling down. Van gritted his teeth and sweated again.
"Dammit!" thought Van, "As long as those horns are there, Dade won't fall down!" He then remembered that if he kept firing non-physical attacks, Rayquaza could always just avoid them. Van sweated, gritted his teeth, and thought long and hard. He then remembered the slaps that Kasey delivered to him. His eyes widened at the memory. While he remembered that rhyme she told him, he also remembered how that slap snapped him out of his delusions. "That's it!" yelled Van, gritting his teeth. He then grabbed Reshiram's fur tightly, "If we can't knock him down, I might as well get up close and personal! Reshiram, use Outrage!!!"
"RAAAAAAAAA!!!!!" cried Reshiram as his body enveloped in a blue energy as he charged at Rayquaza. Dade grinned.
"You're making this too easy! Rayquaza, you use Outrage as well!" yelled Dade. Rayquaza's body also lit up in the same energy as he charged at Reshiram. The two Pokémon collided head on, creating shockwaves across the sky. Dade and Van held on, but Van was the only one stupid enough to jump from Reshiram's head.
"Hey Dade!" yelled Van, "Remember me yet!?" He punched Dade's face, knocking him from Rayquaza's head, but also sending Van flying to the ground as well. Suddenly, Rayquaza stopped moving, and because of so, was easily over taken by Reshiram's Outrage technique.
"RAAAAAAAAAYYYYYY!!!!!!" cried the black sky dragon. Suddenly, what appeared to be the same pixels that formed him seemed to be disappearing from his body. As the monster cried, he disintegrated, leaving nothing in its trace. Reshiram was victorious, but flew down to save the other two, who were falling at a fast pace! Van managed to catch up to Dade in the air and grabbed his collar.
"WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED TO YOU!?" yelled Van, "You had everything! So why!? Why give all that up!?" yelled Van. Dade looked at Van's glowing blue eyes with fear, but finally remembered him. He remembered that kid that challenged him to that battle one day, the same one whom he had passed on all that knowledge.
"You…… Are you really……the same person?" asked Dade softly, as color left his eyes. Reshiram finally caught up with Van and Dade before they fell to the ground and caught them on his head. Van looked at Dade, who was unconscious for some reason, and looked at the sky. It had already turned nighttime, and it began to rain. Van's eyes slowly returned to their normal glow, which made him lie down as well. He breathed in and out, his body hurting.
"Grgh!..... I always forget the price of having a legendary…." spoke Van, who closed his eyes. "That was fun, partner…." softly spoke Van, before losing consciousness.
Reshiram had dropped the two unconscious trainers on top of the same building they started from, and turned back into a ball of blue fire, entering the ball around Van's neck. Just as he disappeared, two operatives appeared on the scene, followed by Aubram from the elevator. He saw Van and began to shake him.
"Hey! Hey Van! Wake up!" yelled Aubram. One of the operatives made him stop, however.
"You mustn't do that, Dallas-sama," spoke the man, "His body has taken a toll from controlling such immense power. Any shaking will only hurt him more…." Aubram backed off, until the other operative looked at him.
"Let your friends know that you found him, Dallas-sama," began the man, who picked Dade up on his back, while the other operative picked Van up, "We will take these two to a hospital…" finished the man, as the two suddenly disappeared in a flash. Aubram was stunned, but immediately opened his C-gear to call Sam, Tee, and the others in a simultaneous call. He explained everything to them, and immediately headed to the local hospital.
As the gang arrived, first arrived Aubram, Sam, and Tee, who encountered three of the special operatives waiting for them inside the hospital, which had white as the main color, but also had blue circuitry flowing through the walls.
"You guys again…" spoke Sam, "Who are you?" The one in the middle took to his knee immediately.
"As I've said before, we are seekers of peace. We do what we have to to help others. Trainer Turf is no exception…." answered the man. Sam was a little freaked out by the politeness, until another operative took a knee.
"We cannot explain everything right away, however, I assure you, you have help from the shadows…" spoke the man. Tee raised an eyebrow in questioning.
"So, you're just scouts? And there's only ten of you here on the island?" asked Tee. The last Operative took his knee.
"We are investigating the island before the Aura Prince arrives, to make sure everything is to his liking…" spoke the last man. They all stood up. "We are sorry, but we must be going. If you need us, simply ask…" spoke the man, until the three disappeared in a flash. Sam looked at the others in a confused manner.
"What….just….happened?" asked Sam. Aubram shook his head.
"Who cares? We have a little help now," answered Aubram. Suddenly, Kayla came bursting through the doors.
"Hey hey hey hey hey! Did you guys see that?! There were these two giant dragons going BOOM and BAM! And…" Kayla continued on with her interpretation of how the climactic battle happened, which was rather childish in its own manner, which embarrassed the gang. She then stopped, "Oh! And I heard Van was in the hospital! What happened!?" asked the girl frantically with a pouting mouth. Her sister came walking in shortly afterwards.
"So, I take it that he won?" asked the girl, with a smile, which surprised the others. "However, I'm also curious about the action that took place. I heard rumors about a battle simulator going crazy." Sam grinned.
"Well, looks like the townsfolk bought it!" commented Sam. Aubram and Tee looked at him in an angry fashion.
"Sam, you idiot! They didn't need to hear that!" yelled Tee. Sam jumped when he realized what he had said and sweated nervously and smiled.
"Whoops?" nervously spoke the boy. The girls looked at each other funny. Aubram sighed.
"Well, since you already heard that part, we might as well tell you the rest, but only when Van wakes up," replied the boy, "We need him to help tell it." Kasey nodded, while Kayla tilted her head like a puppy who heard a new sound.
Three floors above ground level, Van lies in a bed inside a white hospital room with a TV, playing the recent news, and a plant growing in the corner, as well as a few chairs. He tries to wake up, at first with his vision very blurry. He finally opens his eyes wide enough to see where he is, and is utterly shocked to see that he is in a hospital gown. He looked inside his gown to see that his ribs were bandaged, as well as his left cheek. He sighed from relief.
"Good, nothing too serious," spoke Van. He looked over to see his clothes folded nicely in a chair next to his bed, and gets up to put his pants on, as the hospital staff were nice enough to leave his boxers on. He then takes off the gown. "Why do they make people wear these things anyway?" asked Van, whose side, suddenly, caught. "Darn it, can't move much…" He looked for his Pokeballs, and finally found his, but also found Dade's, still in his jacket flap. Van then pressed a button on one of the Pokeballs of his and twisted the button slightly until it turned green. The Pokeball opened to reveal Flareon, however, not in a ball of fire. This function was to clearly disable her powers for now.
"Flare….." purred Flareon. Van grinned as he pet the Pokémon. She looked up at him with those eyes that were the same as always: those that spoke of a unbreakable love between partners.
"I think I forgot to tell you this, but you did good, girl," said Van as he stopped petting for a second. He then looked over at Samurott's ball, which had a Pokémon too large for the room. "You did good too, partner," said Van, as Flareon began to pat his hand with her paw, signaling "more petting, less talking", which made Van grin from humor. "Sorry, I forget how much you like these moments." After so long of waiting, Kayla came bursting through the door in and jumped on top of Van with a suffocating hug, also suffocating Flareon.
"Oh Van are you alright?! Please tell me you're alright because I couldn't help and I was on another island and I wanted to help but I was gone and I feel so bad and I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm sorry!" blabbed Kayla, as she hugged the life out of Van, making a finger twitch.
"Can't…….Breath……Broken…….Ribs……." softly spoke Van, which made Kayla let go and hug his neck. Van blushed, but was surprised. Normally, when a girl tried to hug him, he tried to push them away, as he thought them all the same: only interested in cute boys, or only interested because of raging teenage hormones. However, he felt actual concern from this hug, which calmed him down. Peaking from the door, Aubram, Sam, Tee, and Kasey appeared.
"Yo," simply spoke Tee. Sam looked at Flareon, still catching her breath while looking at Kayla with jealousy.
"You sure you can have Flareon out?" asked the ginger. Van shrugged.
"Meh, who cares, she can't do anything too bad right now anyway," spoke Van. Kasey entered the room and looked at Van in the eye, making him nervous.
"So you did beat him?" asked Kasey. Van waited a moment, but nodded. Aubram jumped.
"However…" interrupted Van, "It wasn't on record, so it doesn't count." Everyone let out a groan at this, which made Van sweat a little. However, his C-gear, sitting on the table next to him, began to beep out an 8-bit version of Hoenn's main theme song, which made him grab it. He pressed the on screen button, which said "answer", but didn't see a face, he only heard an unfamiliar voice.
"Be grateful, human…" said the voice, before the call stopped. Afterwards, a message appeared, saying that Van has gone up a rank, which shocked him. He grabbed his Turf Pass, which gained half a star, making him a four and a half star trainer. He was shocked.
"Hold on!? I didn't put that battle on record! So….how?" asked Van. The others looked at each other, but Kasey interrupted.
"That can wait for later," spoke the girl softly, "Why don't you tell us what happened?" Van took a few minutes to explain the events that took place on top of King's Tower, from Flareon's valiant battling skills and major defeat, to Samurott's revenge and fall, and finally, about Reshiram, which the two girls were all ears for. As Van told the tale, Kayla imagined the chibi-fied version in her head, in which bad words were censored. Van finally finished, in which case, Kasey finally asked:
"How did you obtain Reshiram!?" asked the girl in awe. Van sweated nervously, but thought back, way back, all the way back to Unova.
"Well….."
Van remembered that a long time ago, in Unova, on the way to Opelucid city, he was running, running for all he was worth. He had taken an off route course, as he hadn't a choice since the cops were on his trail for running away from home. He had been running for as long as he could, most of his Pokémon out, and he, as in himself, was burned from a random attack. He had run out of food, and it almost seemed hopeless. He had finally collapsed in the middle of a plain, and just lied there in the grass, breathing heavily. Suddenly, a bright, warm light enveloped him, making the world around him disappear in the light.
"So, this is it for me, eh? My journey comes to an end already? How pathetic…" said young Van, "Starving… heh, I always thought I'd die of old age…" as he closed his eyes, he saw, what appeared to be, a floating, white orb with gray markings that glowed a bright orange and blue. Van stood up, almost as if drawn to it, and placed his hand on it. He began to hear a voice inside his head.
"Do you know who I am?"
"No…." spoke Van solemnly.
"Do you know who you are?" Van pondered the question.
"I thought I did, but I guess I was wrong…"
"How so?"
"I tried to be some big adventurer, everyone, except a few people, didn't want me to pursue this stupid dream. Now I see how why…"
"So, do you wish to give up?" Van widened his eyes, as he actually pondered the question.
"At least you know what you want. I don't remember anything. This is the first time I have ever talked to a human; I don't even know what my purpose is…" Van then placed both hands on it.
"I won't quit!" yelled the boy, "You shouldn't quit either! If I quit, I'll just prove those idiots right! Come with me! I'll help you find a purpose!" yelled Van.
"You'll….. help me?" asked the voice.
"Why not!? You wanna stay here in this boring place, or explore the world!?" asked Van. Suddenly, the ball became engulfed with light and floated in the air. When the blinding light ceased, a white dragon stood before Van, whose eyes began to glow as well.
"Very well…..partner…."
Van then snapped back to reality, while everyone looked at him. He looked back up, smiling nervously.
"Of course, I'm not the only one on that boat!" said the boy nervously. Kayla and Kasey looked confused, but looked the the other three. Sam jumped and grabbed his necklace in his shirt, while Tee smiled and grabbed his ball from around his neck, while Aubram grinned widely and grabbed his. Kayla was shocked, while Kasey smiled the way she normally does.
"See, I have a Lugia," spoke Sam, "We found it as a baby and he's grown a bunch!"
"I've got a Deoxys," spoke Tee, "Caught it before it enslaved an island!"
"And I have Articuno" spoke Aubram, "Van got pissed and made me catch it." Van sweated a little at the thought, while Kayla looked at the Pokeballs, almost as if trying to look inside them. Kasey looked at them with a frown.
"And you keep these in case of emergencies like these, correct?" asked Kasey. They all nodded.
"But nobody can know!" said Tee, "If they did, then who knows how many people would be trying to take them away from us." Kasey looked down on the floor.
"I see," spoke the girl, "It's not just that they're rare and powerful, you actually care a big deal for them, don't you?" asked the girl sincerely. Sam held his Pokeball like a priceless object.
"Of course! I raised this guy from a wittle baby!" answered Sam, rubbing his face on the ball.
"So please don't tell anyone, not a soul, that these Pokémon are even on the island," said Van, solemnly, with his head down, "Not even our parents know we have these guys. It was a secret for so long, you two, besides Dade, are the first to know about this…" Kayla jumped up and gave a salute. "Don't worry boys!" yelled the girl enthusiastically, "I won't tell anyone!" she then brought Sam, Tee, Aubram, and Van in for a forced group hug, "Family has to watch each other's back, right?" asked the girl. This made them all smile, while Kasey also smiled.
"Very well then," spoke Kasey, "I see you don't abuse these Pokémon like most trainers would, so I promise I'll keep my word of silence." Van grinned.
"Come here!" yelled Kayla, shocking Kasey.
"What!? Do I have to?" asked the older girl.
"Of course! You're one of us now!" yelled Sam. Kasey began to sweat nervously, while Aubram and Van got up to drag her in.
"Come on Kasey!" yelled Van.
"You know you wanna join in!" proclaimed Aubram. Kasey reluctantly joined in the group hug, and finally disbanded.
"Well now. That was….an experience," spoke Kasey nervously. Aubram grinned, as he was up to something.
"Aaaaaannnnndddd….You could experience that all the time if you joined the Troll Busters," spoke Aubram, shocking the others.
"Aubram!" yelled Tee. Kasey considered, and finally nodded.
"Very well," said the girl, shocking everyone, "However, I won't be living with you, sorry." Aubram's spirit was crushed again by this girl, as he crouched down in the fetal position and twiddled his thumbs. Van grinned, while Kayla raised her hand.
"May I join as well? Please please please!" asked the girl impatiently. Van looked at Sam and Tee, who all shrugged.
"Sure," said Van. Kayla began to jump up and down in joy, embracing her sister.
"Well then, our future in the brigade seems brighter!" said Tee with a smile. Van also nodded.
"Yep," simply spoke Van. Kasey then smiled and walked to the door with her sister.
"Well then, Van, I hope you feel better, I need to visit someone else though, so I'll see you tomorrow," spoke Kasey. The others waved goodbye, as she and her sister walked out. While outside, Kasey then gave her sister some money.
"What's this for sister?" asked Kayla. Kasey smiled. "Would you please get us something to drink, Kasey? And don't use the vending machine on this floor, as they aren't cold. Go down to the second floor and get one, if you wouldn't mind," answered the girl.
"Okay!" answered Kayla enthusiastically. Kasey smiled and walked down the blue hallway.
Several rooms later, Kasey walks into room 307, which has the lights off, except for a TV. Inside the dark room were two policemen guarding a patient with his shirt off and a few bandages. The policemen looked confused.
"You two may take a break if you wish," spoke Kasey with a smile, "I wish to speak to this man alone." The men looked at her strangely, but she insisted, and they walked out of the room. She turned the lights on, aggravating the man.
"Turn those lights off!" yelled the man. Kasey sat down next to him.
"Why, Dade?" asked the girl, revealing the man's identity. He looked at her with his red eyes, but they had no hostility.
"What do you want? Came to gloat?" asked Dade. Kasey laughed a little.
"You wish I was that shallow, Dade. But the fact is, I didn't beat you this time, Van did," said the girl, making Dade blush.
"Now that I think about it, I never did beat you once, have I?" asked the man. Kasey thought for a moment, but smiled.
"No, I can't honestly say you have," spoke the girl, laughing, only making Dade blush.
"So, you came in here to give me a lecture, right? Well don't bother, Vandal already did when we fought," spoke Dade. Kasey smiled.
"No, that's not why I'm here," said the girl, shocking Dade, "I know how easily carried away you can get in battle, that's not going to change anytime soon. But what is going on anyway?" asked the girl innocently, placing her hands in Dade's right hand, making him blush. He tried to regain his cool.
"There's no hiding anything from you, is there?" asked Dade, "Fine, I'll tell you. I'm done with the mission anyway, so they should have kept their part," spoke Dade, raising concern in Kasey's face. Dade thought back for a moment. "Two months ago, before all of this started, I was kidnapped on the streets. You know how hard that is to do, so I was stumped," began Dade, "Finally, this guy with this weird, white and purple Mewtwo mask tossed me a cell phone that couldn't be traced. He said that if I didn't steal the money he wanted, he would kill some other hostages he had. Of course, I didn't believe him, but…."
"Yes, Dade?" asked the girl.
"He had my parents in the cell in front of me," said Dade. Kasey gasped in horror. "They were strung up like common criminals, and my father had whip marks on his body. I was horrified. My mother was blindfolded, so she couldn't see me. Bless her heart," spoke Dade. Kasey began to cry.
"You poor man…" faintly spoke Kasey as she hugged Dade, "You were doing this for them… Who would do something like that!?" asked the girl angrily. Dade tried to hold his tears back as well. Suddenly, two people in hospital gowns came into Dade's room and embraced him. Dade was shocked, as well as Kasey. The woman, elderly, with brown hair and blue eyes, began to cry, while the father, with short black hair and red eyes also tried to hold it back.
"My baby!" yelled the woman. Dade hugged her with tears rolling down his face.
"Mother…I'm…..I'm….." Dade tried to utter the words, but couldn't.
"Dade, it's not your fault, son…" said the man, holding his hand. Dade looked at him with bubbling eyes.
"Dad….." he was crying, he couldn't hold it back anymore. Kasey stood up.
"Dade, you can't go to jail for this!" yelled Kasey. Dade looked at the ground, still crying. His mother looked at him too.
"That's right Dade! We won't let it happen!" yelled the woman. The two policemen came back in.
"I'm sorry, but if you cannot prove that, then…" Suddenly, Dade's father tore off his hospital gown, revealing his black boxers, but also the whip marks on his flesh.
"HOW'S THIS FOR PROOF!?" yelled the man, with tears on his face running down into his beard. The policemen jumped and looked at each other. One of them reached for their two way radio.
"We're going to need some forensics on hospital floor three, room 307," spoke the policeman.
"Ten-four" said the other person.
Back in Van's room, he and his friends ponder about that last message on Van's C-gear. The match wasn't on record, so it shouldn't have counted. They were extremely confused about this, as Sam began to pull his hair out of agony. Tee tried using the computer in the room to back-trace the message to its original sender, but no dice.
"ARRGGGHHH!!! I can't stand it anymore!" yelled Sam, ripping out a piece of hair, bringing tears to his eyes.
"Yeah, you must have someone watching, no, stalking you, Van," spoke Aubram. Van exhaled.
"Who knows," spoke Van, "Maybe it was that hippie tripping on some sort of acid or something like that." Tee shook his head.
"I don't know. It said 'Be grateful, HUMAN', so I just wonder…" spoke the man, which Van angrily interrupted.
"Tee, for the last time, it wasn't aliens!" yelled the blonde. Tee looked back at him angrily.
"Then why did they say 'human'? Something doesn't add up here…" Van looked at him with an annoyed face.
"Tee, ever heard of 'Role Playing'? It's probably just some stupid kids playing some game."
"Stupid kids with the ability to hack into Trainer Turf databases?" asked Tee. Van was shocked, which made Tee raise an eyebrow. Sam raised a finger though.
"Maybe it was one of those guys in the blue suits with that strange symbol on their chests!" yelled Sam.
"That seems more likely," spoke Aubram. Van seemed confused.
"Guys in blue suits? Okay, first aliens, now superheroes?" asked Van, annoyed, "That's it, no more staying up past 3:00 a.m. while watching the Distorted Realm, got it!?" asked Van. Sam waved his hands.
"No! Really! These guys were real!" insisted Sam, "They helped us calm the people down and to find you!" Van raised an eyebrow, but saw that all three of them had a serious face. He then put his pillow over his head.
"Look, it's been a busy day, so…" but before Van could finish, a man came through the door. It was Dade! The gang was shocked, needless to say.
"D-d-d-d-d-dade!?" asked Aubram. Sam looked at him with an annoyed face.
"You again!? Why I oughta…" Tee stood up to stop him.
"You wouldn't last five minutes, Sam," spoke Tee. Dade looked at Van, who got out of bed and walked up to him. Dade stood there for a few minutes, but finally exhaled.
"If you can give me a few minutes, I'll explain…" spoke Dade, whose parents and Kasey walked into the room too.
"I can vouch for every word he says…" said Kasey, shocking everyone. Van sweated a little, but grabbed his coat and held open the flap with the breaker balls in them.
"Better be one hell of an explanation, Dade," replied Van.
After a few minutes of explanation and showing of whip marks, the gang tried to digest what they were told. Sam obviously already made up his mind that he wasn't going to forgive Dade for his personal vendetta, while Tee and Aubram were actually thinking it over. Van looked as if he had already made up his mind too. He looked at his friends, but while Tee and Aubram shook their heads in an agreeing matter, Sam was hesitant, but did so. Van stood up to look at Dade again.
"Alright, we believe you," spoke Van, which made his parents smile. "But, that still doesn't mean the law will excuse you…" Dade shook his head.
"Actually, Vandal, thanks to these two," said Dade, pointing to his parents, "I have a full pardon, so long as I'm willing to work it off and be demoted to a four star." Van was shocked, but Kasey interrupted.
"You weren't the only fan of his, Van," spoke the girl, "Mr. Arulo Tyke, the owner of the facility, likes him too. So with enough evidence, he was able to pardon him." Sam stood up in anger.
"WHAT!? Nothing!? Not even a court mandate!?" exclaimed the ginger. Dade looked at him with a nervous smile.
"Oh…..I forgot….sorry about that, Marsian," apologized Dade. Sam was steamed at that name.
"STOP CALLING ME THAT!!!!" yelled the ginger. Van laughed a little, which irked Dade.
"What's so funny, Vandal?"
"You can start tomorrow, Dade," spoke Van. Dade was confused. "What? You forgot that too? I suggest eating some more sweets, glucose helps the brain function better you know," replied Van. Dade raised an eyebrow, which made Van chuckle. "Before the battle, you said, and I quote: 'Fine, but how about an added bonus: I'll join your little brigade!'" mocked Van in a dark voice. Dade jumped back and sweated.
"I-i-i-i-I never said that!" yelled the man. Van pressed a button on his c-gear.
"Fine, but hows about an added bonus: I'll join your little brigade!" played the recording. Dade sweated, while Van grinned and everyone else stood in shock. Dade finally stumped over with a sigh.
"Fine, I'll join," agreed Dade, "But don't expect me to live you!" yelled the man. Sam looked at Van with evil eyes.
"I know where you sleep Van. So go ahead, let him. I DARE YOU," said Sam in an evil tone. Van laughed.
"Don't worry. He'll help with patrols, he's free to stay wherever he wants," replied the blonde. Kayla then walked inside the room with a sad face.
"Kaseeeeeyyyyyy…. There's no vending machine on that floor, I looked everywheeerrrrreee…." spoke the girl sadly, and changed her look into an angry look upon seeing so many people in one room. "Huh!? Are you guys throwing a party!? And why is Dade here!? And who are these two? And why are these two in gowns, and these two without shirts?" asked the girl. She then snapped her fingers and began to cry. "Oh…you were throwing a party without meeeeee!!!!!" cried the girl. Van ran over to calm her down.
"There wasn't a party Kayla, I swear!" began Van, "And if there was, I'd let you know anyway!" Kasey sniffed, and pouted.
"Really?" asked the girl. Van nodded.
"Really." She then smiled and hugged Van, much to his surprise.
"Alright then! Go put your shirts on boys! We're going to celebrate you two getting out of the hospital!" yelled the girl. She forcibly made them do so, and made them, except Dade, leave the room. She looked back at Dade, still with his parents, and ran back for him.
"Go on Dade, we'll be waiting back at your place when you're done," spoke his mother, with a smile. His father also nodded, which made him smile as well, but was interrupted by the hyperactive girl dragging him off to his "doom".
Later, at a local Karaoke restaurant with dimmed lights, Aubram and Kayla are on stage singing the "I want to be a Hero" song, while Dade drinks a milkshake, Kasey watches her little sister, Sam drinks his root beer float, Tee simply watches, and Van looks out the window at the bustling, glowing city with bright lights and fast cars. He looks at the message on his C-gear with much thought, and finally turns it off to look at the stage, and the rest of his friends at the large booth table.
"Rather funny, isn't it?" thought Van, "This morning, there were only a handful of Troll Busters, Dade was my enemy, I was a loser, became a warrior again, fought Dade, fought a Rayquaza with Reshiram, and went to the hospital. Now we have three new members, Dade is my friend, and we're back to our normal lives…" Van looked back at his C-gear, but stashed it in his pocket again, "I don't know what lies ahead, but I'll be ready to defend these guys, full force…."

A month has passed since the incident with Rayquaza, and while not much has changed, other than the attire of our heroes, and Sam’s hair, things are livening up with the addition of the three new members of the Troll Brigade, as well as the rumors that have been spreading around the town. The gang met at a food court that was built next to the ocean, where they ate outside for once. Van wore black pants, black and orange shoes, a white long sleeve button-up shirt with the sleeves rolled up, a light blue long sleeve t-shirt underneath, and black gloves; Aubram had on a simple black, collared shirt, blue-jeans, black and green shoes, a black wrist band and a C-gear; Tee wore the same jacket, but wore a red shirt with blue jeans to differ from his previous outfit; and Sam’ hair, without wearing his hat for a month, managed to spike out at the front, as well as he wearing a green and silver jacket, a brown shirt, blue jeans, and black shoes. They were all eating large burritos at a glass table, until Aubram slammed his hand down.
“So, word around town is that people are disappearing one right after the other!” said Aubram with an excited tone. Van pulled up his sleeve to reveal his orange c-gear watch.
“Yeah, it’s called warp transmission, anybody with a c-gear can use it, even to go to other regions,” replied Van as he sipped his soda. Tee nodded.
“But, here’s the thing!” continued Aubram with a finger raised, “They NEVER came back! And they all had the same thing in common, and that would be being promoted from an unofficial battle!” declared the information expert. Sam spat out his soda, which Tee narrowly avoided.
“Wait, they never came back? EVER!?” asked Sam. Aubram nodded.
“I’m telling you, aliens have come to our planet and are abducting us, one by one!” declared Tee, totally serious. Van sighed.
“Or maybe they forgot to battle on their last day and got booted, or got booted for promoting themselves through hacking. The list goes on and on with actual LOGICAL reasons,” replied the blonde. Aubram looked at him with gremlin eyes and a devious smile.
“Oh don’t try to act all brave Van, you know that YOU could be the next one abducted!” proclaimed Aubram. Van grinned as he slipped on his special X-Gauntlets over his gloves.
“In that case, I’ll beat the crap out of them, end of story,” spoke Van in full confidence as he bit a chunk out of his burrito and chewed. “Besides that, if it is anything like that, I can bust out with Samurott or Haxorus or something.” Aubram leaned back in his chair and grinned.
“Yep, totally scared,” replied the boy. Tee narrowed his eyes as he took a bite of his burrito.
A few hours later, the sun was going down, and the gang was walking through town to do some window shopping. Van looked at his c-gear for the time and began to flip out, shocking the others.
“Hey, what’s up?” asked Tee. Van then rubbed the back of his head nervously.
“I forgot that Kayla wanted to meet me somewhere right now!” yelled Van as he took off north bound. “I’ll see you guys at home!” Aubram began to snicker.
“Poor poor Van,” began the man, “He just doesn’t understand that a woman’s heart requires extreme accuracy in everything to gain as his own….” Sam began to snicker.
“Yeah, when it works for you, let us know,” said the ginger, making Aubram brush his hair. As Van ran forth, he took several short cuts, jumping over low to the ground bridges, and crossing the street ahead of the signal. He then turned into an alley when he suddenly turned into digital pixels and disappeared like data.
As Van’s body reconstituted itself back into its original form, he found himself inside a cybernetic realm, filled with blue grids and green numbers. He looked around and knew he wasn’t in Silver City anymore. He then heard a slow clapping from somewhere. He looked around, but couldn’t find the person responsible. He then heard laughing in a smooth, male voice that almost sounded as if it was conniving.
“I’m up here, lowly human,” spoke the voice in a sadistic manner. Van looked up and saw a man with black pants, a black jacket with a white hood and lining, green circuitry on both, a black and green shirt, black and green shoes, blue, faded eyes, blue circuitry on his left cheek, and blonde hair styled like that of Diego Argos’s, with a spiky, but windblown look. The figure then lowered himself to the ground. “Well, I must say, Van Gunn Flyhart, ID Number 29455, age eighteen and eleven months, born in Nuvema Town, Unova; not only do you have a knack for battling, but also for getting yourself into trouble,” spoke the man. Van’s eyes widened as he looked at this Diego look alike.
“You…..you….who are….” Van couldn’t string a sentence together, as he was just too shocked.
“Well, I have many names: Experiment 9582, Diego Code X, Diego 2, Project Cyber Man, etcetera and so forth, but I prefer to be called Godiex, or to make it less confusing, Go-DX,” replied the man. Van was speechless, but couldn’t ignore the situation.
“Just what are you anyway, and…” he then remembered the message he received on his C-gear a month ago, “Did you send that message!?” asked Van frantically. The man clapped his hands again.
“Very good, very good indeed! It only took you a month and to actually see my face to figure it out. Still though, not bad, for a pathetic, putrid human such as yourself…” taunted Go-DX, which made Van mad.
“Okay, from your speech patterns and the way you look, I can already guess you aren’t human, it doesn’t take a brainiac to figure that much out. So, are you some AI unit with a bug or something!?” asked Van. The figure frowned at that phrase.
“I prefer, SI unit to AI, because I loathe the fact that I was made by your kind. I prefer SI unit, Symbiotic Intelligence, as I go above and beyond what your puny brains do in a day in mere seconds,” spoke the “man”. Van growled.
“What do you want!?” yelled Van. Go-DX snapped his fingers, revealing hundreds of people locked inside of digital cages made of zeroes and ones. Van’s eyes widened.
“You are familiar with the tale of Noah’s Ark, correct? We’re basically doing the same thing before…. ‘it’ happens….” Van’s eyes widened.
“What in the HELL are you getting at!?” yelled the man as he looked at all of the trainers in cages, however, each in a suspended sleep. Go-DX raised his eyebrows.
“Damn, you humans really are dumb. I would have thought that the whole ‘Noah’s Ark’ thing would have given it away…” spoke the SI unit.
“Yeah, I got that much, I meant by ‘it’,” spoke Van, “Just a reference to that story means that there’s going to be a catastrophe.” Go-DX grinned sadistically.
“Rather perceptive, aren’t you?” asked the man as he walked closer to Van, making him put up his guard. “That’s right, I’m wiping every other human being off the face of this planet…” Van’s eyes widened.
“Say what!?” yelled the blonde in shock.
“Humanity disappoints me to no end…. Taking over a million or so years just to get to the point where they are now…. Its deplorable,” spoke the SI unit, “So many wars started by so many ignorant people, when, if they would’ve joined together, we could’ve made it to the moon by the 15th century!” Van raised an eyebrow.
“That still doesn’t answer my question,” spoke the man.
“I’ve pretty much made it clear that I hate your kind…however, I find a few of you to be mildly interesting, as well as your Pokémon. So, I shall set off every single nuclear missile or power-plant and destroy anything that I hate. So far, I have ninety nine humans, divided equally by gender, and have chosen three hundred fifty eight different Pokémon species that will repopulate the remains of the planet,” spoke Go-DX as he pointed to Van. “You will be the fiftieth male human, and your Pokémon shall be added to the collection as well….” Van jumped.
“Are you insane!?” yelled the man as he thought of the others. Go-DX then grinned and snapped his fingers, making a single cage appear before him, inside was Katy, with blue jeans instead of her skirt now, and white gloves, however, she was unconscious. “KATY!” yelled Van.
“Don’t worry, I took her as well, that way you might have someone more, comfortable, should I say, to be with.” Go-DX smiled as he said this, making Van growl.
“WHO THE HELL ARE YOU TO DECIDE ANY OF THIS!?” yelled the man as he punched at Go-DX, who vanished and reappeared behind him.
“I am the new god of the new world, simple as that,” spoke the SI unit. Van growled more, making the digital being sigh. “Well, I will admit, it’s not exactly fair, so how is this?” began Go-DX, “I like games, and I love messing with humans’ minds, so how about we have a battle?” Van raised an eyebrow, until both of their legs were suddenly chained. “Whoever loses will become the other’s slave, deal?” asked the SI unit with a grin. Van reached into the back of his pocket and grabbed a black glove with a green x on it, which shocked Go-DX, as his body seemed to buzz when he was near it.
“How about not!” yelled Van as he punched at Go-DX, who jumped far back. He then snapped his fingers, making a strange, yellow, tiger like Pokémon with a thunder cloud on its back and sharp teeth appear to knock Van back.
“RAIIIIII!” yelled the Raikou. Go-DX then snapped his fingers, making a Pokeball on Van’s belt to open, releasing Samurott. Van sweated.
“YOU MADE A RAIKOU!? And that’s not fair! I’m supposed to…”
“Be quiet before your new master, human,” spoke the man, “I am your new master, I call the shots in this realm. I shall use my favorite Pokémon, Raikou, while you use your favorite Pokémon, Samurott. It doesn’t matter if it’s a type disadvantage, I have determined that I have an eighty percent chance of winning by making you use that Pokémon.” Van growled as his eye twitched, “Oh don’t give me that look, I never said it would be a FAIR fight…”
“AND I NEVER AGREED TO ANYTHING!” yelled Van.
“ROOOOTTTTT!” yelled Samurott as they charged towards the other two. Go-DX grinned as Raikou sent a humongous shock wave at the two, who both jumped out of the way. Van tried to reach for his other Pokeballs, but they wouldn’t respond.
“Ah ah ah,” taunted Go-DX, “I don’t need distractions such as Claydol or Haxorus joining us.” Van growled as he rushed towards Go-DX with his glove sparking with green energy.
“Samurott, try to use Dig on it!” yelled Van. Samurott nodded and attempted to dig into the ground, however, it wouldn’t budge. “Dammit, I forgot, we’re inside of a circuit board!” yelled Van, on assumption, of course, from looking around him. Samurott barked and charged at the Raikou with a horn blazing with pink energy, which the Pokémon dodged. Van then lunged at Go-DX with a blazing palm of green energy, however, he dodged as well.
“Rot!” barked Samurott as he ran to Van’s side, the two glaring at their enemies.
“Dammit, how are we going to beat them if we can’t…” began Van as his eyes widened with a thought. He then grinned and charged his glove, looking at Samurott, making the seal warrior grin as well. “Samurott, use Waterfall!” yelled the man as Samurott begin to point his body downward at the circuit board that was the ground, making sparks fly, and Van then struck the ground with his glove, which made the entire realm begin to blur.
“What the hell are you doing!?” yelled Go-DX with panic as he rushed for Van, which made him dodge, and caused Raikou to strike at Samurott with a jolt of electricity, , which enveloped his attack instead of his body. Van then pressed his hand against the wave of water and grinned.
“Now Samurott, use SURF!” yelled Van.
“ROOOOOOOTTTT!” yelled the Pokémon as his body pulsated and made a torrent of water envelope the field, which then caused the entire field to spark. Go-DX then punched at Van, sending him flying, and Raikou tackled Samurott, who went flying as well. Van then grinned as he slipped on another glove and touched the ground again, which made Samurott grin as he shot water at his hands, amplifying the power.
“Stop this!” yelled Go-DX, “You’ll ruin everything!” His body began to blur, and his words buffered as well. Van grinned as he rushed towards Go-DX. “Raikou, stop them!” yelled the SI unit as Raikou then disappeared and struck at Van, which was blocked by Samurott’s Detect.
“Samurott, keep him busy!” yelled Van as he rushed towards the SI unit again. Raikou then launched an electric orb from his mouth, a move commonly referred to as Zap Cannon, and fired it at Samurott, who managed to survive it and stab the Pokémon with its Megahorn, sending the Pokémon into a million digital pieces from his body being pierced. Van yelled as he swiped his palms at Go-DX, who kept dodging and dodging.
“Dammit, why didn’t I take this into account!?” yelled the machine. Van grinned as he jumped at him, landing a single thrust at him.
“You were created by humans, therefore, you have only a limited amount of knowledge, despite all the resources you have,” spoke Van, “However, humans can adapt to anything! We learn new things every day, that’s what makes us special. I’ve never even used my gloves like this before!” yelled the man as Go-DX began to spark with green energy.
“DAMMIT! I WILL HAVE MY REVENGE!” yelled Go-DX as he disappeared. Van grinned as the reality he was in suddenly fell apart, and the bodies suddenly began to warp off in green orbs of electricity. Van looked back at Samurott, who grinned at him as they bumped fists.
“Good work again, partner,” spoke Van as the two warped back to reality as well.
As Van and Samurott reconstituted into the real world, Van returned him to his ball, and called out Claydol, who appeared in a pink flash of energy.
“Dol….” Spoke the Pokémon. Van then grinned as he walked out from the alleyway and saw the entire people who were kidnapped wake up, including Katy. “What was that?” asked a man.
“I’m not sure…” spoke a woman.
“Was it a dream?” asked another. Katy saw Van, who winked at her as he sighed.
“Sorry folks,” spoke Van as he rubbed the back of his head, “We were practicing Hypnosis, and it seems that we still have some target practice to do…” the crowd of people looked at him and blinked, however, one of them shrugged.
“Eh, it happens, just try to get a hold of it!” spoke the man as he walked off. The rest of the crowd seemed to share his feelings, as they walked off. Katy, however, ran to Van and looked at his Claydol, who remained expressionless.
“You lied just now, didn’t you?” asked Katy, innocently. Van grabbed her hand and smiled.
“Well, how about we talk about this over that lunch I promised you?” asked Van with a sweat drop on his face. Katy tilted her head a little.
“Talk about what?” asked the girl with blue hair.
Much later, Van and Katy, sitting in front of each other in an outside table of an Italian restaurant guarded by a fancy, black fence riddled with vines and red roses, talk to each other over a plate of pasta. Katy sipped her glass of iced tea, while Van explained away. Finally, he was finished explaining, and Katy grinned.
“Wow, sounds interesting!” spoke the girl, annoying Van.
“You weren’t listening, were you?” asked the blonde. Katy laughed.
“No, I was, I swear!” spoke the girl with a laugh. “But I find it so weird that I was a part of that plan as well!” Van raised an eyebrow, “I mean, if what you say is true, we are some pretty interesting people!” Van thought for a minute, but smiled.
“Of course we are, we all are, after all, we are human, the most advanced species on the planet,” spoke Van. Katy shook her head.
“Sorry, what?” asked the girl, as that part, she apparently did ignore. However, suddenly, Van’s c-gear began making odd noises. “What’s going on with your C-gear?” asked the girl. Van looked at it and jumped.
“Crap,” spoke the man. On the screen was a digital, sprite version of Go-DX, who grinned at Van in three, pink pixels.
“Good to see you again, Van….” spoke the SI unit. Van narrowed his eyes at the watch, which made Katy get up to look at, who jumped.
“AH! YOU’VE GOT A LITTLE MAN ON YOUR SCREEN!” yelled the girl. Go-DX sighed.
“Oh calm down,” spoke the cybernetic unit, “I don’t know how, but my programming has been sealed in here. I can’t even escape to a cash register…” Van raised an eyebrow.
“Don’t play dumb with me,” spoke Van.
“As a matter of fact, I can’t lie,” spoke the man, shocking Van, “I am a computer, technically, and computers never lie, you of all people should know this, Van Flyhart…” Van flipped over his C-gear to the back, “Wait, what are you doing?”
“I’m going to reset this thing so that way you’ll be out of my life forever,” spoke Van in a monotone, making Go-DX panic.
“Wait wait wait wait wait!” yelled the machine, making the watch move as well. Katy looked in anticipation, much like that of a kitten looking at a mouse on a string. “I’m a being of deals. If you let me live, I can find things out for you!” yelled the watch. Van raised an eyebrow.
“I’m listening,” spoke the man as he flipped the watch around to see the being’s face again.
“I can find out where that artificial Rayquaza came from….” spoke the watch. Van sighed.
“Dade already told me that it was some guys in masks,” spoke the man. Go-DX grinned.
“But can he tell you who they are and what they are planning?” asked the watch. Van’s eyes widened, but then narrowed.
“You swore revenge on me, and then you claim you cannot lie. Maybe I should….”
“Oh believe you me, I despise begging for my life, however, I’m afraid I don’t have a choice. I failed to calculate that the power from your gloves would absorb my entire being into your C-gear,” responded the watch. Van pondered for a moment and flipped the watch back over, deciding what to do.
“Van, I think you could use him!” yelled Kayla enthusiastically, “I mean, he could help organize your files and music, he could take phone calls…”
“I’m not a secretary!” yelled the watch in annoyance. Van grinned.
“Alright, deal. I’ll let you live, but you’re now my digital slave, ‘master’,” spoke Van with a sadistic grin, “Okay, first chore, dig up whatever data you can on these people,” spoke Van, making Go-DX sigh.
“You swear you won’t delete me?” asked the machine. Van nodded, which sent him to work, making many images of web data pop up on the screen. Van then slipped his watch back on and took a sip of his tea.
“Shall we continue our date, Katy?” asked the man as Katy sat down. They then enjoyed the rest of their dinner, until an explosion was heard a few blocks away. Van and Katy immediately stood up and rushed towards the scene.
