Hunger Games RP -Discussion-

Hey guys! Alright, I've been thinking... When life gives you lemons, you don't make lemonade! How about me do an RP? Yes it has a plot, of COURSE it has a plot. Now, shut up, sit down, and listen.

have you ever read the Hunger Games? Now, it's not a book about food. Be quiet. Anyway, it's about the post war/dystopian society consisting of twelve districts and a Capitol. Yes, it's spelled that way. HUSH.

Anyway, every year, each district picks two tributes, one male, one female, to compete in the annual Hunger Games, which is a bloody battle to the death. And shit happens. Who ever is left standing (always one person) wins the games and is sent home with riches. Everyone else dies.

So you wanna join? Can you win? You never know, even the oddest of oddballs can win.

Mkay, got some rules here...
1. Your posts have to be moderately long. Our characters will have little interaction, unless confronted and such.
2. No. God. Modding. That means your character cannot be overly skilled, or slay everything in their path in one sweep. Need more detail of what I consider such? Shoot me a PM. By all means.
3. If you want your character and another persons to interact, talk with them about it. Whether it be an alliance, a fight, whatever, talk about it.
4. Don't kill yourself or others too early. For the sake of the roleplay, don't.
5. Occasionally, I'll enact an event to happen. It'll be between random posts, and they'll be... I'll explain after we have all signed up.

THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW:
-The process of choosing which children will go to the games is a process called "Reaping." The escort from the Capitol comes and draws the names from the glass "reaping balls," and takes them to the Capitol.
-Upon arrival, the tributes will go to their stylists (controlled by yourself) and be dressed in a costume that has something to do with their district. But we're skipping this part, initially.
-At the Capitol, the tributes will be given their own rooms and every day for four days will train fr the games, and get ready for the interviews.
-We're skipping the interviews.
-On the day of the games, the tributes will be taken to the arena, and will be put in their waiting rooms until the games start. When they do start, they'll be lifted into the arena, and will have to stand still for sixty seconds.
-Supplies and weapons will be in the center of the arena, in a golden horn called the "Cornucopia." You can get stuff from there, or run away. Your choice.

DISTRICT INFO
Each district makes something different for the Capitol.
District 1: Makes luxury items/
District 2: Supplies the army and mines granite.
District 3: makes electronics and some weapons.
District 4: Supplies seafood and coastal/ocean items.
District 5: DNA splicing and supplies mutants for the games. I think.
District 6: Makes medicine. I think.
District 7: Supplies lumber and paper, and tree products.
District 8: Makes textiles, such as clothes.
District 9: Makes processed food. I think.
District 10: Cattle and other livestock.
District 11: Fruits, vegetables, and other foods.
District 12: Coal. That's pretty much it.

(Haven't read the book, but I am familiar with Dystopia as a whole, and besides Steampunk, it is probably one of the only sci-fi stuff I like)

Physical Description: Thin young lad with wispy silver hair that seems burnt in some spots; Wears engineer's clothes no matter where he is
Identifying Marks: Wears an eyepatch over where his right eye would be that covers his token
Token: Under his eyepatch, he has a bionic eye that his father developed for him; The eye grants Damionn exceptional perception and is quite durable. On ocassion, when he is worked into a fury, he can shoot electrical lasers from its iris that although they look dangerous, they only have the strength of a laser pointer... Because of the red glow of the eye, he has gotten the nickname 'red-eye'; A pocketwatch that plays a mysterious melody when opened...
Past: Lost his eye six years ago when he was working on laser technology for the sake of his district alongside his father, and due to the severity of his injury, he was skipped in consideration for multiple Hunger Games, despite him being much more skilled than most of his peers that were let in.
Family: Father, Brother (Deceased; Hunger Games), Sister (Grace; see next post)
Other skills/info: A prodigy when it comes to technology, he has the skill to disable mechanical traps as well as unfavorable pieces of technology.

PD: Dirty golden locks that have spots where oils seems to have stained it darker; Thin and short for most of her age; Wears tattered fingerless gloves and a engineer's uniform over a patchwork dress, normally wears an eyepatch over right eye...
IM: Right eye is glazed over
Token(s): A small, simple clockwork toy that seems to have once been a doll; An airplane radar around WWII-era that seems to have been fixed up to run on crude battery power
Past: Grace usually kept to herself as a young one while her father and brother worked on commissions for the district; However, once she was finally shown the ropes, she and her brother were both 'reaped' for the Games.
Family: Father, Two Brothers (One deceased due to the Games, and the other one is Damionn...)
Other skills/info: Has a bit of feminine charm...but she thinks she has more than she does...

Mkay, I've decided that we can all have up to two tribute characters. Drak, you've been accepted, and you still have to PM me a sample post. Also, the laser eye is prohibited. he can have the eye, but no lasers.
Also, for the hell of it, because this is MY OUR Hunger Games, we have have two tokens per person. Because we can.

Here are my characters:
Name: Domi Lockhart
Age: 16
Gender: Female
District: 8
Physical Description: Tall young girl with turquoise eyes and waist length black hair. Kind of agile and fast. Her clothes are died in splotches of ice blue and black, as she works in the dyeing line at a factory. She wears boots, a hat and a scarf wherever she goes, because it's rather cold in District 8.
Identifying Marks: Scar on her left leg, and her skin is dyed a few different colors accidentally.
Token: Her scarf and a silver pendant form her sister.
Past: Domi was born into a middle class family that worked as line managers. She started working on the line at seven, and soon was working on the dyeing line, which she likes and wants to stay there. She hasn't had much other happen in her life, except the factory fire when she was 14.
Family: Her parents are line managers, and her 9 year old sister, Carmen, recently started working on the dyeing line next to Domi.
Other skills/info: She is pretty good with knives, and from 16 years of watching the games, she has a refined strategy of how to win. She's kinda childish when caught alone or off guard.

Name: Griffin Woods
Age: 16
Gender: Male
District: 12
Physical Description: Very tall, with dark brown hair and gray eyes. Very muscular. What he lacks in speed is made up for in brute strength. He usually wears either denim pants or cargo pants, and long sleeved shirts, except when outside the fence. Also wears a pair or worn brown boots.
Identifying Marks: Various scars on his arms and legs, from hunting.
Token: A picture of his sister, and a braided black bracelet.
Past: Griffin was born to a merchant man and a woman from the Seam (considered the lower class part of town) and learned various survival skills from his father, until he left his family for a wealthier merchant lady. Griffin became the family breadwinner after that, sneaking past the fence and into the woods to hunt. His younger sister died in the Games when he was fifteen, making him hate the Capitol more. He holds a part time job in town, working for the butcher.
Family: His mother is a seamstress in town, his late father used to own an old odds-n-ends store, before his death. His sister, Melanie, died at thirteen when she was reaped for the games. Also, a wild dog likes to follow him around, regardless if he's in the woods or not. He calls it Dakota.
Other skills/info: He's handy with a knife and a bow, but prefers hand-to-hand combat. With humans and animals alike. he can cook, too. But he's not going to be doing that in the arena, now, is he?

I'm trying to remember something... Oh! get your submissions in quick, because we're limited on space, and if you don't get them in, you don't get to play. So submit!

-.- The lazer part is actually vital to the character, so can I just have it nerfed to a harmless equivalent, like the strength of a laser pointer?

And I will edit my post to include a second character and more tokens... But even so, if the district specializes in technology, I think they would have more high-tech tokens (Probably limited though to 19 or 20th-century 'high-tech' with the occassional Steampunk and late 20th century item... The laser is still a prototype even now) that they would bring in...

And what do you mean by 'sample post'?
