Chapter 1
In a small village in the dessert, the sun is out, and the people are enjoying their everyday lives. The village is small, and only has a few houses; however, they lie on an island in the middle of an oasis of the dessert, where palm trees grow too. Yes, even the children enjoy it, and it seems that life is good. Inside of one of the houses, which was a house that was built with old wood, a man with a pointed beard and an orange and black robe stands by while a small, eleven year old boy, with windblown, black and spiky (especially towards the front) hair, black pants, a white t-shirt, and brown shoes and wristbands prepares for training.
“C’mon Dad! I’m waiting!” yelled the boy with blue eyes, impatiently. The man with long, black hair nodded. “Very well,” spoke the man, as he pointed to a ledge inside the brown room. The ledge seemed high up, which made the boy nervous. “Daseo, you do still have that green gem I gave you, correct?” asked the man. Daseo grinned and held up a necklace from around his neck, attached to it was a small, green gem, which seemed to glow from the inside.
“Yeah Dad! I’ve got it right here!” The man smiled.
“Then you do not need to worry,” began the man, “Miracle Gems enhance previously existing abilities, so that jump should be normal for you as long as you have that gem.” Daseo looked at the gem with awe, which made him grin. He then ran to the ledge, yelling a battle cry, and leaped high into the air. However, he landed against the wall, just two feet under the ledge. The boy fell to the ground, holding his nose in pain. The father laughed.
“Daseo, my son, you did well, but you’re not tall enough to reach the ledge yet, I see….” spoke the man with a smile. Daseo looked at his father in anger.
“You could have told me that!” yelled the boy. The man then threw a wooden katana with a green hilt and black guard at the boy, who caught it barely with both hands.
“Now, we will test your skills with a sword,” spoke the man, who stood up and opened a sliding closet. He pulled out a scarecrow with worn out overalls and patches. Daseo pouted.
“Dad….I wanna go play….” whined the boy. The father sat back down again.
“Not yet. When we are finished, I promise you can go play, but first, your morning routine,” replied the man with a stern voice. Daseo pouted, but held up the blade. “Now, use the same combat techniques we have been using until now.”
“HA! RA! UGH!” yelled the boy as he slashed down, up, to the right, up again, and kicked the scarecrow. This kept on for fifteen minutes until his father lifted his hand.
“Good, now we may move on to the next faze…” spoke the man as he stood up and grabbed a wooden katana with a blue hilt. “You do remember how to guard and evade, I assume?” asked the man. Daseo nodded as he sweated. The man then swung his wooden blade, which Daseo blocked with his. “Good, but what else?” asked the man as he pulled back and stabbed at the boy. Daseo rolled out of the way and got back to his feet. This, again, went on for minutes, leaving Daseo breathless. The man took their swords and put them back inside the closet, and then grabbed a small, gun shaped weapon with a copper colored gem embedded in the middle and handed it to his son. He then grabbed a target from the closet and placed it ten feet away from his son.
“So, we’re just hitting the target again?” asked Daseo. His father nodded.
“Yes. I need to see that your aim is…” but before he could finish, his son had already pulled the trigger of the gun, releasing a small, orange flash of energy at the target’s center, bursting on contact. The smoke dissipated, revealing a small burn mark dead center of the target’s bull’s eye. Daseo’s father smiled and rubbed his son’s head. “You definitely have it, the marksmanship of a professional Arsenal Craft weilder,” began his father, “You’ll make the Breech family proud one day…” Daseo looked up at his dad, who was smiling, which made him smile.
“Yeah, and maybe you’ll let me have that cool gun and sword of yours too!” yelled the boy. The man looked over towards his closet, which had the Kanji for “Private” drawn over the door in white ink. He looked down at his son and patted his head.
“Maybe one day, Daseo. Now then, go play with the others,” spoke the man, which made Daseo smile and run outside. His father smiled at him and sat down again.
Daseo ran out the door and jumped down on the ground, which was covered with dirt, and ran over to hug his mother, who had beautiful black hair and was wearing a yellow dress. She smiled, but had to bring water back to the house. Daseo grinned and ran towards the oasis to play with the other kids his age, where he met a boy with thick green hair and yellow eyes, wearing white shirt and blue shorts, and a girl with brown hair and green eyes, and a red dress, both the same age as Daseo.
“Your dad still making you train in the mornings?” asked the girl. Daseo nodded, which made the green haired boy fall into the fetal position.
“I hate training with my dad……” whined the boy. Daseo pouted.
“I know, and we’re the only three kids that have to do this too!” complained Daseo. He then looked at the green haired boy with horror. “Hey, Graft, what on earth does your dad make you do!?” asked Daseo. The boy known as Graft looked up with a twitching eye.
“He makes me train with Psi-craft! It hurts!” complained the boy. The girl shook her head in disappointment.
“I have to learn Geo-Craft from my Dad…. I hate having to fight close up!” complained the girl.
“I don’t know what my dad’s trying to teach me,” complained Daseo, “He makes me train with a sword and other things, but he claims I have a gift for Arsenal Craft.” The girl looked at him with an annoyed face.
“That’s what I want to learn!”
“It’s not as great as it seems, Ulla,” answered the boy, “I’d rather learn something cool like Blade Craft!” The others nodded, which made the green haired boy get up.
“Hey, let’s go play already!” yelled Graft. The two kids ran off, leaving Daseo behind. Several hours passed, and they had swapped to a game of tag. “Come on Daseo! Try to catch us!” Daseo then rushed towards the two, while at first seeming to be a feeble effort, he nearly caught Graft, however he turned a sharp corner. Daseo then did his best to speed up, but finally caught him off guard around another corner of a house. Graft pouted, but as per rules of the game they were playing, he had to help Daseo catch Ulla. They spotted her, which made her run back towards the houses of the villages. The two chased her, but she jumped out of the way, which made Daseo mad.
“We’re going to get you Ulla!” yelled Daseo. The two boys nearly caught Ulla, however, the girl managed to jump on top of a barrel and jump on the roof of a house, ultimately putting the game at a standstill.
“Hey! That’s not fair!” yelled Graft. The girl laughed as she kicked her feet.
“Maybe the lessons were good for something…” thought the girl. Daseo pouted, but looked at the ledge of the house. He then ran as fast as he could, and jumped from the ground, to the barrel, and finally on top of the house. Ulla was shocked, but not as much as Graft, who stood dumbfounded. Daseo then touched Ulla’s shoulder with his finger and smiled.
“You’re it!” yelled Daseo, making the girl pout. Daseo jumped off the roof of the house, landing on his feet, which shocked Graft.
“Doesn’t that hurt?” asked the boy. Daseo looked at him and laughed.
“Not as long as I have this!” yelled the boy, as he held up his necklace. Graft looked at it with awe, which made his yellow eyes shine.
“Is that your dad’s miracle gem?” asked the boy. Daseo nodded. Ulla managed to climb down from the house by stepping back on the barrel she used to get up there.
“Weren’t you supposed to give that back to him?” asked the girl.
“He didn’t ask for it, so I just kept it!” declared the boy. Graft looked at him with concern.
“Yeah, but doesn’t he usually ask for it back? My dad always makes me give it back….” Ulla also nodded.
“Won’t you get in trouble?” asked the girl. Daseo thought for a moment, and his face suddenly became as white as a ghost.
“No no no no no!” yelled the boy as he ran back to his house in a flash. The other two followed, but were stopped by a man with green hair and another man with red hair. They were the other children’s fathers. As Daseo ran back to his house, he noticed people running away, many screaming and carrying bags. He also noticed strange monsters biting chunks off of houses and lighting them on fire. Daseo ran inside his house out of fear, where he saw his mother laying on the floor with blood pouring from her neck. Daseo’s eyes widened in fear and shock, but suddenly found himself shaking her to wake her up. “Mom! Mom! Please, wake up! MOM!!!” yelled Daseo. His mother looked at him with the last bit of her energy.
“Daseo, no matter what happens, know that I always love you,” spoke the woman, gasping for air. Daseo began to cry, “Grow up to be a fine man, I promise, I’ll always…..” she then stopped speaking, which made Daseo gasp.
“Mom!?” he shook her and put his head on her chest, which made no sound. His eyes widened, but his grieving was interrupted by a loud noise coming from a room in the back. Daseo stood up and rushed to the scene, where he found his father fighting a black creature that appeared to have glowing, yellow eyes. His father was dripping with blood, and his right arm was severed. Daseo’s eyes twitched in fear, which caught his father’s attention.
“Daseo! RUN!” yelled the man. The black creature pounced at Daseo, which he dodged by rolling out of the way. His father smirked at this.
“What is that THING!?” asked Daseo, scared. His father then fired a shot from his gun, which was a black trimmed, silver gun that was blocky in shape, but had the standard finger clutch at the back. Inserted in the center of the gun was a green gem, which glowed a bright green, and at the butt of the pistol was a purple gem, which also glowed. Daseo sighed a breath of relief, as the monster was dead.
“That was an ‘Assassin’, a monster created by pure evil…” replied Daseo’s father, who fell over in pain. Daseo rushed over to him, with tears in his eyes.
“Dad….I….I…..” he struggled to speak, but couldn’t. The man looked at his son and stood up, reaching inside the closet.
“You said you wanted the family heirloom, right?” asked the man. Daseo still sniffled, which made the father struggle.
“STOP CRYING DASEO!” yelled the man. Daseo looked at him in horror, which made the man shudder for the thing he said. “I know….you just watched your mother die……your also watching your father die….” spoke the man, who was breathing heavily, “But you must stay strong, for our sake….” He then grabbed a back out of the closet, which also had a sword with a cupped guard that also made a thin, d-shaped guard on the hilt that twisted inwards like a crescent moon. The blade was silver, but had a black edge, while the guard had the black on the inside. The man then placed the gun inside of the bag and handed it to Daseo.
“Dad?”
“Son….I won’t make it out of this one…” spoke the man, looking at the blood on the floor. Daseo’s eyes began to tear up, but he didn’t whine his voice. His father placed his palm on his head. “Daseo, your mother may have already told you this, but we love you….your journey will be difficult, but you must…..endure it.” The man struggled to catch his breath, but looked at his son. “You must leave the village, and meet a man named William… His training will be far more difficult than mine, but I know you can do it….Daseo….” the man took his last breath before finally losing his life.
Daseo let out a cry, but was interrupted by flying, black creatures which resembled bats in a way. Daseo cried out, but grabbed the pistol in the bag and aimed for the creatures. He fired at the bats, which missed. Daseo was shocked, but remembered that this was the first time he had ever had a moving target. He then ran outside in fear, and was utterly disturbed by the sight.
“What the…” softly spoke the horrified boy. His entire village was on fire, and more bat-like creatures flew high in the air. Daseo grit his teeth and ran straight for the town bridge which connected it to the dessert outside of town. The monsters chased after him, which scared the boy. He never let his eyes move from the bridge, however, as he was determined to survive this, for his friends and parents. Suddenly, the gem began to glow, and Daseo began to run at twice the speed as before, making it to the bridge. However, before he made it across the long, wooden bridge, a cloaked man appeared and pointed a large, six revolver-like weapon at the monsters.
“Stay back, Daseo,” spoke the man. The six-revolver then fired a gigantic blue blast of energy which shined as brightly as the sun. Daseo looked on in awe at the mysterious man, and when the light faded, was utterly shocked to see that the village was just wiped out, including the bridge that was there.
“What…..WHAT DID YOU…” Daseo was horrified.
“Stop whining. Other than your parents, it seems like everyone made it out alive,” spoke the man. Daseo heard these words, and couldn’t hold back the tears any longer. He broke down and cried. The cloaked figure turned around to see the pathetic sight, but took pity on the boy. “Do you wish to get stronger?” asked the man. Daseo looked at him with wide eyes. “Do you want to make sure nobody else feels this pain you feel?” asked the man. Daseo thought for a moment.
“Can you make me the best?” asked the boy. The man laughed.
“I can’t guarantee that, but I can say, without a doubt, within ten years time, you’d be a force to be reckoned with, just like the Breech clan of old,” replied the man. The boy then nodded, with tears still rolling down his face. “Then let me introduce myself. My name is William, William Trek,” introduced the man. Daseo looked up and held out a hand.
“I am Daseo….Daseo Breech!”
The two shook each others’ hands, which was just the beginning. For the next ten years, William would train Daseo using the most insane training techniques imaginable, most of which were very Spartan like. The training was harsh, and was more than ten times harder than Daseo’s father’s training. However, in time, Daseo grew, as well as his speed.
“Hah!”
His agility….
“Ugh….ya!”
His strength…
“AGHHHH!!!!”
And his aim….
“Too easy!”
Daseo’s journey is just beginning, and we will find out his true Destiny…..now…..

Chapter 2
Ten years later…..
In a small, western town covered in dust, where the buildings are old, paint is chipping off, and the sun scorches the red earth, there lies a bar, filled with round tables and a piano playing the songs of old. A bartender serves a man a cold beer, which foamed at the top of the glass. The man, sun tanned and all muscle, drank it all in one gulp. At another table, however, a game of Poker is ensuing. All the chips are on the table, and the rough and tough men are sweating while looking at their cards. One of them, a man in a blue, buttoned shirt and blue jeans, as well as a cybernetic eye, threw his cards down on the table. He grinned.
“Straight Flush, sorry sweetie,” sarcastically said the man. The woman at the other end, a young woman at the age of twenty, with a curvy body, black boots that hug her legs and stop at her knee caps, a blue skirt, a white tank top, an arm band on her right arm and two gold bracelets, a golden necklace, two bright blue eyes, and long, bright orange hair; grinned at the sight and threw her hand down in confidence.
“No need to feel sorry for me, as I have a, wait for it, a Royal Flush!” yelled the girl, who scraped in all of the poker chips. The men looked baffled, while the one man began to steam.
“Listen here girly…” the woman stepped on top of the table, however.
“Oh man up! So you lost a poker game, who cares!?” yelled the girl. The man looked at her, surprised, “You’ve still got your dignity, right? I mean, if it had been any other girl, then I could see….” The men stood up, shocked.
“Wait! So….the orange hair…..don’t tell me you’re….” The girl grinned and held out three cards, one of which was red, another blue, and another yellow, and all had a strange pattern on them.
“That’s right, I’m that girl!”
“Riruko, the Ace of Spades!” yelled a man. Another looked at him strangely.
“I thought she was the Queen of Hearts?” the man still steamed.
“I don’t care if you’re the King of Clubs, I don’t lose Poker games, never!” yelled the man, whose right arm sprouted a large blade from the inside. The girl began to sweat nervously.
“Now…hold on….” spoke Riruko, who was trying to crack a smile, “Can’t we just talk about this?” the man slammed his arm on the table, slicing it in half, which also made the others get out boxing gloves, swords, knives, guns, whatever weapons spanned the Miracle Arts Craft list. Needless to say, Riruko was scared.
“Now then, looks like I’m about to get every dime back!” spoke the man, who raised his blade. Riruko closed her eyes in fear, but was interrupted by a loud sound. When she opened her eyes, a large, pink spot was on the man’s bare shoulder, which caused him to pass out. The other men looked to see where it came from, and saw a man, approximately twenty-one years of age, wearing a black, y-neck collared shirt; black fingerless gloves; a blue hip bag/belt that had large sacks on the sides; blue jeans tucked inside of brown chaps that wrapped around his legs that also had two black spikes at the side of each bottom leg; and black boots with metal toes. Around his neck, a glowing gem could be seen, and in his right hand was a pistol with a purple gem inside the camber, and a pink gem in the butt of the gun. The man with blue eyes and black, windblown and spiky hair then stepped forward, which scared the other men. Riruko stared at the man with a blush on her face.
“Hey, you okay down there, sweetheart?” asked the man in a calm voice. The woman looked at his slender, athletic body and stood up.
“Who are you?” asked the girl. The other man at the bar stood up and took out a large cannon-like pistol from his hip, which shocked everyone.
“I know why you’re here…. Bullet,” spoke the drunkard. The mysterious man grinned.
“Haven’t been called that in a while, but fine, whatever suits your fancy, Black Robin….” The other men jumped at the sound of that name. “Otherwise known as John Cansley, a bank robber who’s robbed over one thousand banks and has a ten-thousand bounty on his head,” the man raised an eyebrow, but the mysterious man looked around at the other armed men, “Actually, I see a lot of wanted men in here. I might just make a killing off of this one…” the man grinned, while the others charged at him. One of the men threw a punch at him, which he side stepped to dodge, sending the man into the other crowd. Another man came at him with a baseball bat, which the man took care of with a ducking and punch to the stomach. Two more men approached, which he kicked to send off. As the men came at him, he dodged all the hits and sent them flying with punches and kicks. Finally, a man with a sword slashed at him, which he dodged by side stepping. He then drew out his sword, the same as before, and blocked the next slash to the side. The man then punched the man out cold, leaving only a few men left standing. Suddenly, the men with guns began to open fire with bullets, lasers, fire, ice, thunder, and other sorts of long range attacks.
“Oh crap….” spoke the girl. The mysterious man grinned and kicked over a large table, taking the girl and hiding behind it. He then handed the girl a card with a brief description. She was shocked.
“I’ll handle this, just stay out of trouble with some reading material,” replied the man as a laser broke through the table shield. He then grabbed his gun and fired at the men. He fired the gun repeatedly, eleven times, sending bright pink flashes at them, each one hitting a shoulder and sending them to the floor, leaving only the notorious Black Robin standing, who then fired a gigantic black flash of energy from his gun.
“This’ll end you, Bullet!” yelled the man. The blast sent a hole through the front of the bar, sending debris and wood flying, and also shocking the townsfolk, and nervously shocking the girl. She looked over to see if the mysterious man was alright, but couldn’t see him, and thought he was done for, which also made Black Robin grin.
“You didn’t really think I’d go down that easily, did you Robin?” asked the man in a sarcastic voice, and shooting him in the back if the shoulder at point blank range. Robin then fell to the ground, unconscious, making a thud as he fell. Riruko looked at the man with awe, as that was the most amazing display of fighting and shooting she had ever seen. The mysterious man then handed the bartender, who was unfazed by the fighting due to his preoccupation of cleaning empty beer glasses, a card with his name and number, as well as an address on it. “Sorry about the damage, bartender, just gimme a call and I’ll pay for it all with the bounty money,” spoke the mysterious man. The bartender simply nodded and kept cleaning. The girl ran up to the man and stared at him in the face with wonder, which creeped him out.
“Who are you, Mr. Bullet?” asked Riruko. The man laughed.
“Well, for that matter, please don’t call me that. I barely use bullets at all, so I think it’s stupid. But you may call me…” the girl paid attention to his moving lips, “Daseo Breech, or just Daseo.” Daseo had grown into this mysterious man in a matter of ten years, how surprising! He then handed a phone to the girl, “Call the sheriff, if you wouldn’t mind,” spoke the man. The girl did as told.
Several hours later, after the paper work and handcuffing had been worked through, the policemen walked the handcuffed criminals out to an armored vehicle, lastly locking Robin into the vehicle. Outside the bar, people stood and watched, while Riruko looked everywhere for Daseo, until she found him walking over to a black and yellow hover bike, which had silver, wheel shaped structures at the front and the back, and a clear blue center. Daseo ignited the machine, which made the “wheels” begin to shine a bright blue, and causing a bright light to circulate from the inside. Riruko managed to stop Daseo before he took off.
“Hold on Daseo!” yelled the girl. The man looked at her strangely.
“What do you want?” asked the man impatiently. The girl then smiled.
“Would you take me with you?” asked the girl. Daseo’s eyes widened, but he laughed.
“Lady, I know I saved you and all, but I don’t believe in the whole ‘love at first sight’ deal…” answered the man. The girl blushed, but shook her head.
“No, that’s not it…” she then held up a wad of blue-papered money, which caught Daseo’s eyes. “I’m willing to pay you thirty Crests for your protection to the next town over.” Daseo whistled.
“Damn, you’re rolling in the money, aren’t you?” Daseo thought for a moment, but tapped on an area of the seat to tell her where to sit. “So, four questions,” spoke the man.
“My name is Riruko Titania, a gambling genius and a Magic Craft lover!” spoke the girl enthusiastically. The man scoffed and slipped on a pair of black shades to cover his eyes.
“Well, that’s one down. Now then, why are you running?” asked the man.
“Who said I’m running?” asked the girl. Daseo waited patiently, but she finally sighed. “I’m kinda worried that my reputation will get me killed, and I just want to leave this place, and I know the desert is a dangerous place to go alone….” replied the girl. Daseo grinned.
“Ah, that explains a lot, now, where to?”
“Think you can get me to Coral City?” asked the girl. Daseo looked at her strangely.
“Pretty far off, ain’t it?”
“I’ve always wanted to go there, but nobody would ever take me….” Daseo felt sorry and sighed.
“Fine….now, my final question. You like to go fast?” asked the man. Riruko tilted her head as he handed her a pair of shades.
“Won’t we need helmets?” asked the girl, shocked.
“Please, at the speed we’ll be going, even if we had a helmet, if we crashed, we’d be dead anyway. Might as well enjoy the breeze,” answered the man, “But I do recommend shades or goggles, especially for the bugs and sand.” He then revved up the hover bike, which made a steaming sound. Riruko put on her shades as well and hugged Daseo tightly, which made him grin. “Alright….FULL SPEED AHEAD!” yelled the man as they sped off, leaving dust in their trail. As the hover-bike flew through the red earth, they’re hair blew in the wind, and object flew past them at nearly impossible to see speeds. Daseo grinned widely, as this was an adrenaline rush for him, while the girl also smiled nervously. Soon, the red earthy mountains disappeared as the bike entered a sandy desert, which it flew into at nearly two-hundred fifty miles an hour.
The sky had turned into the afternoon sky, and sand blew in from all directions. Several cacti could be seen out in the distance of the desert, as well as varying animals, though few and far between they were. As Daseo and Riruko sped through the dessert, leaving a dust trail in their wake, a strange black cloud could be seen over head several miles from their current location. Daseo pressed a button on his sunglasses, which made the left handles on both his and Riruko’s shades lengthen into special headsets.
“Yo, Riri, can you hear me?” asked Daseo through the headset, his voice muffled by digital interference. Riruko tilted her head.
“Riri?” asked the girl. Daseo grinned.
“I’ll take that as a yes. Now, see that cloud in front of us?” asked the man. The girl looked at the cloud as it swirled over a random area. “That’s a Yami cloud. It creates dark energy known as ‘yami’ that turns into monsters. In other words, I hope you know how to fight,” spoke Daseo. The girl freaked.
“Are you nuts!? I don’t know know how to fight that well!” yelled the girl. Daseo sweated in embarrassment.
“I thought you said you knew how to use Magic Craft?” asked the man.
“Well…..” the girl pondered, “I don’t know how to use the cards….I just have them.” Daseo shook his head in embarrassment.
“Hold on, I’ll show you….” Daseo began to slow down, which landed him right underneath the black cloud. In front of the duo stood three monsters that were reminiscent of rats, only except they had only red eyes and stripes, and they were much more violent. Riruko freaked out, while Daseo made her get down. He then drew out his sword.
“You’re not going to use your gun!?” asked the girl frantically. Daseo chuckled and took off his necklace, placing it in his pocket, and threw a necklace with a blue Miracle gem at her. She was shocked.
“The reason your cards won’t work is because you don’t have a medium to channel the energy to them, or to put it simply, you need a Miracle Gem. I’ll be fine with my blade alone, as these guys are simply fodder compared to other monsters.” Riruko slipped the necklace on, and was overwhelmed with magical power. One of the rats lunged at her with gaping teeth, which she was scared of, but held up a blue card, which struck the rat with a blue lightning bolt, freezing it in the air.
“What on earth!?” asked the girl. Daseo clapped.
“Looks like you can use magic now. Congrats!” spoke Daseo as he walked forth. The girl began to smile as she held up the card again, but frowned when it didn’t work. “Yeesh, you apparently never learned how to use those when you got them. Some magic may be more powerful than others, but that comes at the price of a recharge. See how the card turned black?” asked the man. The girl looked at the black card as it slowly regained color. She then grabbed the yellow card and pointed it at the second rat, which struck it with a lightning bolt.
“Yay! I got another one Dase!” yelled the girl. Daseo was embarrassed that she forgot the “O”, but went with it. She then grabbed the red one and held it forward, releasing a fireball that scorched the last rat. “YAY! I feel so much stronger!” yelled the girl as she jumped up and down. Daseo grinned.
“Well you should….at least in a few minutes. Look up.” The girl looked up to see the Yami cloud turn a bright blue. It then dropped odd, blue, green, and pink orbs that fell to the ground.
“What are these?” asked the girl.
“Those are what we call ‘mana’, or basically purified Yami energy. The pink ones restore your magical power, the green ones heal injuries, and the blue ones make you stronger. Now, just relax…” spoke Daseo. Riruko did as told, which made her long, orange hair flutter in the wind as the orbs went into her blue gem, which shined brightly. Then, the cloud finally disappeared, leaving blue skies above. Riruko couldn’t hold in the excitement anymore and began to jump up and down.
“Wow! I feel so much stronger, like I could take on anything!” yelled the girl. Daseo laughed, making her look at him in an annoyed face.
“Well, let’s just see…” He then pressed another button on his shades, which scanned her body with a blue laser, making her cover her private areas.
“That’d better not be an x-ray shot!” yelled the girl. Daseo laughed.
“No no, nothing like that, this simply scans how strong you are and puts it in simpler terms, such as a level in a video game,” explained Daseo, who then looked at her with a fiendish grin, “You think I would scan a naked picture of you?” asked the man, trying to contain his laughter. The girl blushed.
“Oh so now you’re saying that you wouldn’t!? I’ll have you know that I get hit on all the time, thank you, and…”
“Relax…. I’m not saying you’re not good looking or anything, Riri, I’m just not that perverted of a guy. Now then, your level is…..ten! Not bad for a newbie,” answered Daseo. Riruko was still distracted by the previous statement, but was rather shocked.
“Really!? Awesome!” yelled the girl. She then pressed a button on her shades, which flashed a green ray of energy at Daseo.
“What are you doing now?” asked the man.
“I wanna know your level!” yelled the girl. Daseo turned around before the laser could finish. When Riruko finally finished capturing the image, she opened her mouth widely, but then began to blush with a nervous face. Daseo then took off her shades and gave her his.
“THAT was the x-ray shot,” sarcastically spoke the man.
“I realize that now!” Daseo laughed, almost as if he didn’t care.
“Now, press the button at the front to scan me,” replied the man. The girl reluctantly did as told, and a blue light scanned Daseo. She then jumped.
“Wow! You’re at level twenty five!” yelled the girl. Daseo grinned.
“Well, levels aren’t everything anyway…” spoke the man. Riruko looked at him strangely. “Your level only shows how many Exp orbs you’ve absorbed from defeating Raves, or the small monsters you just fought, or Assassins, far more dangerous monsters. In reality, I’m far stronger than some number…” Riruko lowered her head. “Hey! You did do well though! Now come on, we need to get outa here.” Riruko nodded and climbed back on the hover bike, afterwards the two set off again at high speed.
As they rode through the dessert, Daseo slowed down to an oasis, where an island stood in the center. He stopped, surprising Riruko. He then stepped off the bike and took off his shades, walking over to the half bridge that stood out into the water. Riruko looked at the burnt wood on the island in the center with concern.
“What is this, Daseo?” asked the girl Daseo lowered his head.
“Could I have a minute please,” began the man, “I don’t know you too well, so I’d like to sit here by myself for a while….” Riruko looked at the man with concern, but realized that it wasn’t her place to help him, since she did just meet him. She walked back and sat down on the hover bike to wait. Daseo sat down on the bridge and looked at the remains of the village with a saddened face, knowing he couldn’t even visit the remains because of the broken bridge. He saw an image of his mother and father in the back of his mind and thought about the happy times they had together. To Riruko, however, he was just staring. Daseo finally smiled and stood up. “I’ll be back one day, Mom, Dad, and I’ll give you two proper graves…” spoke the man. He bowed out of respect and walked back to the bike, however, he was interrupted by a shaking of the ground.
“AH! WHAT IS THAT DASEO!?” yelled the girl. The man looked towards the sky, and saw it turn into a black Yami cloud. He grinned.
“Looks like some fresh meat,” replied the man as a gigantic worm-like monster appeared out of the ground. Its head was entirely mouth, save for the gigantic red eyeball inside the mouth. It let out a roar that shook the sand. Daseo then took out his pistol, replacing the two present gems with a green gem in each gauntlet, and also took out his sword for good measure. “Riri, try to get in a few hits before I kill it,” spoke Daseo. Riruko took out her cards to prepare to fight, but was interrupted by Daseo charging in.
The monster then dove in at Daseo, which came at him fast. Daseo jumped out of the way in a dodge roll and landed back on his feet. However, his peace was interrupted when Riruko’s lightning card did nothing. Daseo then shot a blast of pure light at the monster with his gun, which sent him flying a good distance, though, not killing him. Daseo looked at Riruko with an annoyed face.
“You’re hopeless,” commented Daseo, which made the girl angry, “Use the ice card. If anything, that should freeze it.” The monster roared and charged back at them again, this time launching a tentacle from its mouth at Daseo.
“Freeze!” yelled the girl, causing the blue card to release a blue lightning bolt, freezing the tentacle in place. The worm struggle, while Daseo stabbed the frozen tentacle with his sword. The worm cried out in pain and lifted the frozen appendage high into the air, carrying the man with it. “Daseo!” yelled Riruko. Daseo held on to the sword with bold hands, his eyes watering from the wind in them. Riruko looked at the blue card, which was nowhere near powered up again. She waved it back and forth. “Come on, come on!” yelled the girl. Daseo looked as the monster threw him high into the air and opened its mouth wide, preparing to swallow him whole. As it opened its mouth, the eye inside was clearly visible, which made Daseo grin as he sheathed his sword and took out the pistol again, replacing the green gem in the butt of the gun with a blue gem. As the monster closed over the man, Riruko held her breath in despair.
Suddenly, however, light began to penetrate the monster’s mouth, and soon its body began to bulge in random areas. The monster then exploded, sending green slime and guts everywhere, and also the giant eyeball flying to the ground, revealing a gunshot wound where the pupil of the eye stood. Daseo rose out of the slime, wiping it out of his hair, and looked around. Riruko ran over to him to help him up, but also tried to hold her breath. Suddenly, a random shaking could be heard from under a flap of skin of the monster, and from under it came a black and brown German Sheppard dog. It walked to them with a wagging tail, which freaked the girl out, but pleased Daseo as he bent over to pet it.
“How’d you get in there buddy?” asked the man. The cloud over head turned into a bright white, and the colored orbs began to absorb into Daseo’s and the dog’s body’s, while Riruko barely got one of each. The remnants of the monster began to evaporate into black shadows until they were no more, and the cloud finally disappeared. Daseo opened his eyes to look at the dog, and saw that it had a collar with a red gem embedded on it. “Damn, you’re one of THOSE dogs, aren’t you?” asked the man.
“RARF!” replied the dog. Riruko waved her hand.
“Well you both stink! Daseo, take this,” she handed Daseo some soap from her pocket, “Now go wash up in the water! I will not deal with that until the next stop!” yelled the girl. Daseo smirked.
“Well damn, all you had to do was ask,” said the man as he took off his shirt, revealing a tan, in shape body, “I mean, first you take an x-ray shot of me, and now…”
“Just shut up and go bathe!” yelled Riruko as she marched off behind the hoverbike. Daseo shrugged and walked to the oasis; taking off random assortments of clothing, save for his boxers. The dog followed him as well.
Many minutes later, Daseo came back, fully clothed, as well as the dog. They were both greeted by Riruko, who smelled the man with a smile. She also smelled the dog, and was surprised.
“You bathed the dog too!?” yelled Riruko. Daseo pat the dog’s head, while he was panting from the heat of the dessert.
“Well yeah, he is my new partner, after all,” replied the man. The dog barked, and Daseo held the bar of soap used, waiting for the girl to take it back.
“Please, keep it,” spoke the girl, “And what did you do about your clothes?”
“Washed those too, and dried them with one of your cards,” spoke Daseo, handing the red card back to the girl, who took it back with surprise. She looked at the dog questioningly.
“Wait, your new partner? But he has a collar…” inquired the girl Daseo smirked.
“No, that’s not it at all. The red gem means he was a trained SWAT dog, however, he was decommissioned. The red simply means he was deactivated, and that he’s free to anyone who can find him,” spoke the man, still petting the dog, “I guess, he somehow found his way out here, not too surprising, given that town ain’t too far from here, but my guess is, that worm must have swallowed him, but since he’s a Rave, that means he lacks internal organs, so he can’t digest him.” The girl looked at the dog, who whined, “This guy’s seen a lot. And that gem also means that, since he’s a SWAT dog, most likely from Clobetasol, he has some pretty sweet Magic Craft on his hands.”
“Rarf!”
“Of course, he could also be a blood hound, or maybe just a house pet,” said Daseo, as the dog rolled over, allowing him to rub its belly, annoying the girl.
“Well, that’s nice and all, but can we get going?” as Riruko, “I’d prefer to get out of the heat soon.” Daseo shrugged and took out a box from his bike’s bag compartment, and then pressed the gray button on it, making the box turn into a small trailer attachment for the bike, adding to the back a safe pod for the dog to climb in. Daseo tapped it, and the dog climbed in and lied down, allowing the protective shield to cover him.
“Good boy, Jet,” spoke the man, causing the dog to bark and wag its tail.
“Jet? Why such an ugly name?” asked the girl as she climbed back on the bike, “I wanted to name it something like Bison, Prince, or Chester…” Daseo shook his head, and the dog laid its head down.
“Hey, it’s my dog, unless you want to feed, water, bathe, and clean up after him,” replied the man. The girl sweated nervously.
“Jet it is….” replied the girl. The dog barked and wagged its tail from inside the pod, while the other two slipped on their shades. The bike started up, sending steam and water vapor flying into the air, and the lights flared up as the bike took off at blinding speeds.
Yes Drak, I realized I left the levels in there, but its for the sake of the gag. | |
